Flug sees the others stay behind as well and decides to go with Sirena, tying his horse near the wagon and taking a longer route that puts him some distance away from the others climbing the hill.

Sirena, Imowen, Gezzo, Fener and Flug creep up the hill to a patch of bushes and survey the hilltop. Ahead on the trail are two wagons that have been attacked. Dead horses and humans litter the ground, and both wagons are smoldering.

Four Ogres are ransacking the remains, and their focus on that activity makes them unaware of the group's approach. One is pulling contents out of a wagon and scattering them on the ground, but seems to have found some food as it is dipping into a barrel and stuffing something in its maw. Two are searching bodies on the ground, while the fourth is cutting big chunks of horse meat from a dead animal and putting them in a sack.

Sirena goes back down the hill and fills in the others at the wagon with these details, and then returns to the observation point to rejoin the others.

A map has been uploaded to the FB group.

I rolled a 1 for the Ogres' perception counter to the stealth rolls. They are so busy ransacking the wagons that you can probably get into position without being seen, as long as you don't go into open areas.

Flug takes out his shield and a javelin, heading into the trees.

Flug heads to V-9, taking cover behind the tree. He'll wait until everyone's in position, seems like it, or signals, before acting.

Flug stares at the nearest ogre, his eyes clouding with darkness as he connects to the unfathomable void in the machinery of the stars, willing the ogre to join him, to see what he sees.

Gift of Madness (Will negates, DC 15) on ogre at R/S-12/13. If fail, become Confused for one round.

Gift of Madness:
Gift of Madness (Su): You tap into the unthinkable void between the stars and cause a single living creature within 30 feet to become confused for 1 round. A successful Will save negates the effect. This is a mind-affecting compulsion effect.

I'm no expert on strategies with this large of a group, but they preoccupied with the results of their rampage. We have the element of surprise, if we are careful.


We can ambush them. I can move into position to attack the northernmost ogre. You interested in joining me Fener and Imowen?

If we manage I move into position, Argyros will use a point from his arcane pool to enchant his weapon before we spring the ambush.

Since I rolled a 1 for the Ogres' perception, you get a surprise round. So, move into position and let me know when you are ready. Again, as long as you don't move into open areas, even non-stealthy folks can accomplish this. North is the top of the map. The trail winds up and down, and east and west as it steadily heads north.

You will need the appropriate rest period to regenerate your spells.

Celif begins the surprise round by casting Bless on Gezzo, Sirena and Thorgrim - +1 to your attack rolls.

Nastrod Casts Doom on Ogre #1.

Ogre #1 Will Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19

Nastrod's spell seems to have no effect on the Ogre.

Argyros bursts from the bushes and strikes a blow at Ogre #3, but the beast manages to sidestep the attack!

Gezzo summons divine judgment and wallops Ogre #1 for 12 points of damage!

Fener swirls his sling and lets fly at Ogre #3, but the missile flies wide and misses!

Rudy lunges at Ogre #3 and manages to bite a critical spot for 10 points of damage! The Ogre shrieks in pain, trips, and falls prone! WOW!

Thorgrim charges Ogre #2, swings his weapon in a powerful arc, and smashes it for 16 points of damage!

Argyros whips his weapon around and strikes again, causing a further 8 points of damage to Ogre #3!

Fener and Rudy shift positions, attacking Ogre #3 at will. Fener's staff raps the Ogre on the head for 6 points of damage. Rudy loses his grip on the monster...but it does not matter, as Ogre #3 is dead!

Erm. I actually meant Ogre #3 since #2 and #4 are out of my range (30 ft.) if I'm right. Silly me!

Flug walks to the middle of the battlefield, calmly maneuvering himself when the ogre falls and dies to stand on top of its corpse. He turns his head to view the battlefield.

Move action to R-13. Ready standard action: Gift of Madness (Will negates, DC 15) on the nearest ogre within range that charges/attacks.
