Argyros runs at the Ogre and swings his weapon, but the creature is able to block the blow with its greatclub!
The leather satchel is very large, consisting of a main compartment and several smaller compartments. Inside the main compartment is a riding saddle to fit the wolf, which would indicate the creature has been trained for this duty. The smaller compartments contain a packet of meat jerky, a grooming brush, and a rolled parchment with a waxed seal bearing the mark of The Brotherhood of Magus.

bah, was writing when story master posted.
Gezzo Wrathforge
Gezzo hops up on the wagon and inspects what caught Flug's attention in the middle of the battle.
Looking inside the cage, he sees the wolf. He cautiously reaches his hand through the bars to allow the creature time to smell and accept his touch.
If the wolf will allow him, Gezzo will quickly examine him for any injuries. If none are found, Gezzo will fill his palms with water and allow the wolf to drink.
Once care is given to the wolf and enough trust has been earned, Gezzo reaches for the satchel. After looking through the contents, he removes the parchment and the dried meat.
Tossing the meat to the wolf with a pat on the head, he turns back and hops off the wagon.
Walking over to Sirena, he opens the parchment to view its contents.

There is no sign of Cayden in the area. Sirena speculates that the wagons were traveling south along the trail, coming from the trading post which is located at the terminus of the trail.
The wolf is in the west wagon, contained in a metal cage whose door is secured by a padlock. The key to the lock is not in the satchel.
There are two human bodies on the ground, in addition to the bodies of four dead ogres and two dead horses. Each wagon contains boxes, crates and barrels. The west wagon has some of its cargo dumped on the ground, presumably by the Ogre who was ransacking it at the time of ambush.
Clouds continue to thicken from the west, and the wind is beginning to rise.
Nästród, Oracle of the Dasun
"Fener," Nästród says, "Will the wolf attack us if we let it out? Can you keep it calm?"
Nästród then looks to the west. Blood drips from the wounds he received in the battle. Determination fills his face.
"Storm is coming. We still have to find Cayden. Let's move on."
Gezzo Wrathforge
Gezzo looks up at Sirena with resolve in his eyes. He silently nods at her, re-rolling the parchment and bounds back up the wagon.
Reaching his hands into the cage without fear, he rubs the muzzle of the wolf and stares meaningfully into the animal's eyes.
Yes my friend, you may have lost your intended master, but fear not, you have not been forsaken. I'll be your master in the service of the Brotherhood and we will go forth to exact their mission.
Gezzo talks in a near whisper to the wolf. He then turns and yells over the increasing wind to Imowen.
Imowen, please, your skills are needed. My wolf needs to be freed from his incarceration!
Can we get a time check, please?
Flug Managarm
I think now would be a good time for Celif to channel healing!
Flug searches the bodies while everyone else is preoccupied, seeing if they might have anything of use and, in the case of the human bodies, clues to their identity. He drags each one to a pile in the middle of the wagons once he's finished searching them and then peers at the cargo of the wagons to see if he can use any of it.
At Nästród's declaration, Flug says, "Then let-let us move."
Fener
Fener makes an examination of the body's. ogre and human.
He will also search the boxes and wagons for anything of interest to the party.
perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
He will also doing a weather check to determine when and how bad the storm will be.
Knowledge nature 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Imowen Aroudilee
Hearing Gezzo yelling at me, I hurry over to the west wagon where he is, beside a metal cage.
Is this the cage you wish opened? I examine the padlock and take out my tools and use them on it.
Disable Device: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
I hear a "clink" and the padlock falls open, and I remove it.
There you go, Gezzo, and your new friend. And I open the cage door.
Story Master

Imowen successfully opens the cage door lock, and opens the door. The wolf jumps free and bounds out of the wagon, and runs around in circles sniffing everyone and everything. It growls whenever it sees an Ogre. It is wearing a leather collar.
The results of the searches will be posted in the Discussion area, in order to not clutter the game page.

Time: Mid-Afternoon
Celif channels Positive Energy to heal party members:
1d6 ⇒ 1 1d6 ⇒ 4 1d6 ⇒ 2 1d6 ⇒ 5 Total = 12
Knowledge (nature): Pretty good chance that the weather system will arrive in earnest in an hour or less, with wind and heavy rain. You can hear thunder in the distance.
Survival (tracking): This area is a tracking headache - the ground is torn up by the battle, horse hooves, wagon tracks, etc. You don't see any obvious tracks leading from the wagon trail, so you can only assume that the party you are following is still headed north along this way.
Flug Managarm
Flug picks up Sirena's sling from one of the dead ogres and silently hands it to Sirena before walking some distance away. He turns his head up and stares into the darkening sky.
Action: Continue north right now (i.e. ignoring the weather)
Fener
I think we should set up camp for the night. We are all pretty banged up from the fight and this storm is looking to be a nasty one. Also, there are 12 bottles of wine that needs drinking.
I think we can rig a shelter up using these broken up wagons that will keep us fairly dry but we need to get it done shortly.
we are on a rise now but if we continue we may end up neck deep in a river or caught in a flash flood
Survival check on rigging up a shelter. Take 10 + 12 = 22
i am tapped out of spells and need the rest time.
