A blast of force strikes the fish-man and it makes a facial movement that might pass for a grimace. You hit him.

Won't get to update map until Sunday, but you guys can still go. To recap, Seram is looking down the stairs (Area 4) and Manny is on the spiral staircase.

male Dragonborn Warlock 10 (Dark pact)

Infuriated by the sudden reappearance of the fishman and it's temerity in stabbing him up, Akahale's eyes spin faster as he effortlessly curses Fishman 1 and stabs it with his lethal looking dagger.

"Doom will come to you." he hisses, before shuffling out of the way again. (shift one square to the north of F1).

Dagger stab at Fish 1: (1d20 6=26, 1d4 1=3, . Wow. A good time to get a crit in fact since he's using a weedy dagger. I put the wrong plus in on IC, but have amended it manually.

OK. That's 5 from the dagger, plus a further 1d6 necrotic, plus an Additional necrotic damage for the crit: (1d6=6) plus a further 1d8 curse damage, and an additional 1d8 taking advantage of using Deathboon last turn, so a total of 14. The d8s were a flub, but everything else rocks. Oh and he gets 5 temp hp, which is dashed handy since he's rather close to bloodied.

M Dragonborn Warlord / LVL 8

Grafire will hold his move and attack with Wolf Pack Tactics [Before you attack, you let one ally adjacent to either you or the target shift 1 square as a free action.] and allow Seram to shift 1 sqr N [I am thinking that Seram is in front of the E. side double door] so Grafire will have a flank attack on FM2.

Wolf Pack attack v AC - FM2 - flank negates aura (1d20+13=27)

Damage FM2 Battle Axe of Terror. (1d10+5=8)

Manny should be on the west side of the stair case and 1 sqr N of FM1.

If that's the case, then Akahale needs to shift to wherever he can that won't provoke an OA. Basically he doesn't want to be squished between fishthings, which will be very much the case if he stays where he is.

M Dragonborn Warlord / LVL 8

In my attack, I moved Seram in behind you for that reason and for flanking FM2.

Ah thank you! I'm a bear of little brain today. Akahale's moves have been doom-struck this whole combat so far. All help in keeping the paranoid scaly one alive is gratefully received.

Actually Akahale, You CAN shift to the square north of Fish1, I am 1 square north of that! You will be shifting into the empty square!

Thanks, Grafire for pointing out my error with Manny's move. i misread it. You are correct in the placement of the mad mage. i am also assuming Seram used two shifts to avoid an OA.

Manfred dashes round to help his dragonborn friend, as Akahale stabs the fish-fiend with a mighty stab infused with necrotic power.

Grafire directs Seram's attention away from the door to aid him in attacking the remaining foe, and the big warrior moves into a flanking position. Grafire's mighty swing slashes the fish-man, and wounds it.

Hits from all concerned. Rowan to go.

>>>>Updated MAP<<<<

Shifting one square so he's adjacent to Fishman#2 Rowan cuts loose a Priest's Shield on the unfortunate foe.

Rolled a 12+14 to hit for 26-2 for the vile presence and +1 for his bless spell meaning thats a 25 to hit which if it does, does 1d10+6 damage or 9 damage and he and one adjacent ally gains +1 to their AC until the end of Rowan's next turn and thats Seram since I think Grafire's got the better defence (and yes I could be wrong about that too)

ROUND 4

>>>>MAP<<<<

Rowan's strike slashes at the fish-man, but it keeps on going.

Block 1
It
Fishmen
Seram
Manny

Block 2
Akahale
Grafire
Rowan

It is up.

N Warforged Fighter

It swivels Its head and sees Mandrake with no protection. It quickly moves around in front of the mage (W-NW-W-SW-S) and pushes against the fish-creature with Its shield, to no avail.

Tide of Iron on F1, including stench (1d12 12=13, 1d8 10=18) Max damage, too

The fishman pushes back against It in a brief struggle, and prevails. The creature fighting Akahale and It slashes wildly and finds no target. The other stabs at Seram and causes the barbarian to stumble as venom flies at him.

FM1 - Miss on Akahale, shift SE. FM2 - Hit on Seram for 10 damage and 2 poison damage. FM 2 shift NW 1 square.

>>>>MAP<<< -post fishy moves

Seram to go.

Male Human Cleric of Bahamut 8th

In case I'm not online I'll just post this

Rowan shifts NE to block the door some of these fishmen came through and cuts loose another Priest's Shield on Fishman#2.

Which misses as I rolled a 3 for a total of 16 to hit and given I previously needed a 20+ to hit I doubt that hits

"You're not worth my time" he says with a growl. With a flash the blade heads at the fishman.

Basic melee attack 1d20+14=32; Damage 2d4+10=13 cold damage

Hit on FM2 from Seram.

The barbarian snarls and casually slashes at the fish-man facing him, as his falchion turns to an icy blade of cold. Unfortunately, the creature seems to be less affected by the blow than might be expected; perhaps the chill seas have inured it to the effects of the cold...

Congrats you have discovered that fish-men have resistance 5 to cold. Manny up.

Oof! Glad I didn't use that Ray of Frost earlier!

"Hey! What's going on? You DO realize that you make a much better door than a window don't you?!?" The addled mage whines as he beats ineffectually on the broad armored back of IT.

"Move it you over-sized coffee can! I don't have a clear shot at,... Nevermind. I always preferred the balcony anyway." The wizard says, then dashes off back around the staircase the way he came. Then back UP the staircase until he is higher than those on the floor.

"Whooo,... That's,... better,..." He wheezes as he catches his breath. "Hey you! Throw me sumthin' mistah!" HE cries gleefully as he waves his arms over his head at the fish man still threatening Akahale. When no thrown 'something' seems forthcoming, he furrows his brows.

"Oh, right. Me first." HE says, and levels his staff at the creature. ANother blaze of energy flies at the aberration.

used full 6 moves to climb up stairway. NW-W-S-E-S-W. Then Magic Missile at F1.

Manny's MM on Fish#1: (1d20 11=25, 2d4 7=12)

I hope that there is no penalty for firing into melee like there used to be. If there is, I hope that having the higher ground negates at least some of it! :P

Err... Manny, allies do not block line of sight in 4E... or is he just being whacky? :D And no, there is no penalty for firing into melee. It's a hit in any case.

The crazy old mage runs up the staircase, huffing and puffing and a bolt of magic flies and zaps the fish-man full on.

Akahale is up.

M Dragonborn Warlord / LVL 8

On my next turn if either Akahale or Seram need a healing surge please let me know. Both of you are close to bloodied. Its a minor action for me.

male Dragonborn Warlock 10 (Dark pact)

Reeling from the stink of fish, Akahale risks an attack from FM1 as he tries once more to get some space between himself and their foes. Once out of the way, he unleashes another blast of eldritch energy, but grits his teeth as it passes infuriatingly close. He cannot tell if his arcane blow landed or not.

Move - taking associated OA - to 2 squares north of Rowan, via It and Manny.

Eldritch Blast (v Ref) v FM1 (1d20 12=22, 1d10 7=10, 1d8=4). If that does hit, it does 14 damage. Psychic from the Blast, just normal from the curse.

Grafire, it depends on whether the OA hits or not. Akahale's on 38hp before the OA, so he should be OK. He can use second wind next round if necessary.

From 2 squares north of Rowan you can't see FM1 as it's behind the staircase, but you can see FM2. In any case, you missed, I'm afraid. FM1's OA hits for 13 damage and 2 poison damage.

Akahale tries to duck away from his opponent to aid his comrades on the other side of the room, but the fish beast causes a gash in his shoulder as he departs.

Grafire to go.

>>>>MAP<<<<

male Dragonborn Warlock 10 (Dark pact)

Bum. He's bloodied, but on 23, so goody, gets a damage bonus if he manages to hit anything on his next attack. Don't heal him yet Grafire.

>>>>MAP<<<<

Was there any reason Rowan couldn't move to block that door?

M Dragonborn Warlord / LVL 8

Before Grafire attacks he summons Rowan to the north of FM2 and shifts him into a flank on FM2, 1 sqr NE from were he is now. He then swings his axe of Terror at FM2.

Attack on FM2 (1d20+13=23)Flank negates stink aura

If axe lands damage is (1d10+5=13)

You are there now Rowan :D in for a flank..

Akahale goes before Rowan, so I took his move to mean 2 squares north of Rowan's position on Akahale's turn.

The heroes shift for position, Grafire directing his comrade with practiced ease. As he does so, he slashes at the fish-man, causing it to spurt red ichor! Unfortunately Rowan misses, as the fish-man reels from the dragonborn's attack.

FM2 is bloodied.

Round 5

>>>>MAP<<<<

Block 1
It
Fishmen
Seram
Manny

Block 2
Akahale
Grafire
Rowan

It is up.

No problem, I know it can get confusing from the player side at times!

M Dragonborn Warlord / LVL 8

Woo hoo that must mean the FM's AC is 23. I was wondering about that because I saw 22's rolled that missed. I just barely squeezed in a hit.

N Warforged Fighter

It moves closer to It's target, then, with a sudden surge, swings It's craghammer and, though It misses, moves further forward, making it more difficult for the fishman to retreat.

Shift 1 square south, sudden surge allows it to move as part of the attack, so another square south. Mark F1. Sudden Surge on F1, incl. stink (1d20 12=20, 2d8 12=22)

It misses FM1. FM1 is marked by It. FM2 is bloodied.

The fishman ducks It's strike, and shifts to slice up the brawny barbarian. The strike misses Seram, and the fish-man suffers a strike from the warforged warrior!FM1 shifts E. OA from It on FM1!

The fish-man assailed by Grafire and Rowan makes a break and decides to attack the annoying reptile that has been blasting energy at it.

FM2 shift NW. Attack missed on Akahale.

Manny is up to go.

The frost covering his blade shatters as Seram dismisses it.

"This is boring...Get out of sight", he delivers a powerful swing to the fishman.

Hammer Fall 1d20+14=23 vs. Fortitude; Damage 4d4+8=16, and the target is knocked prone

N Warforged Fighter

It follows up on the fish-man's opening, striking it a glancing blow.

OA incl. stink (1d20 12=27, 1d8 10=11)

Please feel free to roll my OAs for me

Thanks, pat. Duly noted. And apologies Seram for skipping you! You're quite right. FM1 is now bloodied and prone.

It smashes the back of the creature as it moves away from him, severely injuring it. Still it fights on, only to be smashed to the floor by the force of Seram's blow.

Now Manny is really up!

"These guys just don't. Take. A. Hint!" The mage says as he blows a raspberry to clear some hair from in front of his face. He carefully aims his staff once more, and another blast of energy flies towards the fishman.

MM att on F1

MAnny's MAgic Missile of MAdness: (1d20+11=28, 2d4+7=10)

"And STAY down!" He declares, brandishing his staff.

male Dragonborn Warlock 10 (Dark pact)

Is there anywhere Akahale can shift to before he rolls out some coruscating dark energy?

Mandrake fires a bolt of energy that brings the beast to its knees, but still it fights on. It must be on its last legs now.

Akahale: no, not unless you spend an action point.

male Dragonborn Warlock 10 (Dark pact)

Already used AP being Scaramouche in Round 1.

Dripping with his own gore and infuriated, Akahale curses fluently in draconic and lashes out at the nearest fishbod with his dagger.

Dagger stabbity at FM2: (1d20 7=26, 1d4 1=4, 1d8=2). Forgot to add in bloodied damge so please add 2 to that not great total bringing Akahale's attack to 8hp damage.

The warlock stabs at the vile icthyian in frustration and hits home.

Grafire to go.

M Dragonborn Warlord / LVL 8

Infuriated by FM2 attempt to attack his clan brethren he unleashes a mighty roar. Then shifts NW and tries to send FM2 back to the depths from which it came. Wolf Pack Tactics and allow Akahale to shift 1 sqr NW.

Attack on FM2 (1d20+13=14)

Grafire whiffs on the FM2.

Akahale can't shift NW, but I have moved him W. Rowan is up.

>>>>MAP<<<<

M Dragonborn Warlord / LVL 8

Yeah that's what I meant, Thanks. It least now Akahale will have a chance to step back away.

Male Human Cleric of Bahamut 8th

Rowan simply resorts to a basic melee attack as he swings "crio d'astro" down upon the fishman(#2).

Rolled 10+14-2+1 for a total of 23 to hit which if it does inflicts 1d10+8 damage in this case 14pts of damage upon FM#2

Round 6

Block 1
It
Fishmen
Seram
Manny

Block 2
Akahale
Grafire
Rowan

It is up.

The fish-man receives a nasty gash from Rowan, there can't be much fight left in it now.

N Warforged Fighter

It moves forward with shield and hammer, pushing the fish-man toward the corner with It's blows.

Move W, then Tide of Iron to push F1 one square east, then follow him into his previous square.
Tide of Iron (incl stench) (1d20 12=27, 1d8 10=11)

It's mighty shove causes the fish-man to go *thud* like an evil lump of cod.

FM1 is dead.

The remaining beast stabs at Rowan but the brave priest parries easily. It then backs up to the staircase to make a last stand.

FM2 missed. Shift 1 square W. Seram and Manny?

"What a waste of time. I thought they would be tougher." Seram leans on the nearest wall, watching with little interest as the last fishman fights on.

Second Wind regain 17 hp. At 54hp now. +2 to all defenses.

"Hey! Where do you think YOU'RE going?!? Dodge this you ugly bugger!" The mage snaps irritated as he lowers his staff over the edge of the stairway and fires another blast of force at the creature.

Manny's MAgic Missile: (1d20 11=29, 2d4 7=11)

"RAssin-Frassin' smelly fish-faced aberrations,..."

Presuming I can hit him from there on the stairs. If not, will shift 1 square W and hit him from his back around the curve of the stairway.

Under Manny's supernatural assault, the creature finally expires in a smoking heap.

Congrats, the combat is over except one has escaped downstairs...
