The character I would like to put forward is a Human Gunslinger with a Suffer Not Injustice complex. The whole suffer not injustice thing does mean he'll be a bit of a loose cannon and respond in a very old testament, bullet to the head way if he sees someone being abused, tortured, attacked with provocation etc. Would love to see how a paladin responds to something like that lol. His scores are as follows...

Str 10
Dex 18 (Including Human +2)
Con 11
Int 15
Wis 15
Cha 10

I went with standard gunslinger with alignment LG, pistol starter with a short sword for backup. Trained in Acrobatics, Bluff, Craft(Alchemy), Heal, Perception, Sense Motive, Sleight of Hand and Survival. (Extra skill from favored class.)

There's the bare bones of it.

EDIT: Feats, forgot the feats. Went with Point Blank Shot and Extra Grit.

I'll get the input from the party. Thanks for the post!

There's 2 paladins in the party, shooting random people in the head may be a really bad idea.

I'm up for throwing in a character if you're still recruiting. I know you're looking for a healer, but I've been dying to play a Dervish-Dancing Dex-Based Magus for melee/arcane-spell support. I'd prefer to go to go Tiefling for the +2 Dex/Int -2CHA, but I can just as easily go Elf if you're opposed to the race or you can nerf the racial abilities to your liking. I'll likely be going Chaotic Good in any case.

I've got a few Characters already built for the Magus so editing the stats then fluffing up a backstory should be a jiffy, but I'll submit a Heavens/Battle/Metal Oracle tomorrow if you'd really prefer it.

Also, I did some poking around you didn't roll 3 20's when you attacked Magnus you typed "D" instead of "d" into the dice code which doesn't recognize as a dice so instead what you got was the code adding "20+3" three times in a row.

If you use the confirmation rolls as attack rolls and his AC is 17 the result would be 0 hits and 0 damage. Enjoy your HP Magnus!

(See I'm healing the party already) ;)

It wouldn't be random people. His theme is 'Suffer Not Injustice'. So if he sees a man beating his wife he'll likely put the fear of whatever god will do the job into the man. If he sees somebody murdering someone, he'll likely just exterminate the locust without blinking. An overreaction, yes, but he's not evil. In fact, his alignment is Lawful Good but he just has no empathy for, as he views them, 'locusts'.

He could easily be toned down, if you'd prefer. I just like to thicken the plot a little, makes for a good story.

Alright, decided to put up an alternate character in case people feel no love for the gunslinger (plus, this archetype looks fantastic.)

He's a wizard(Scroll Master) with the Universalist school. His scores will be like this...

STR 10
DEX 15
CON 11
INT 18 (Including Human +2)
WIS 15
CHA 10

Trained skills are as follows: Appraise, Knowledge(Arcana), Knowledge(Religion), Knowledge(The Planes), Linguistics, Sense Motive and Spellcraft.

His feats shall be Weapon Focus(Short Sword) and Spell Focus(Evocation).

His background is uncertain at the moment, but I'm thinking a scholarly type who got sick of reading about adventuring and decided to do it himself. Very self-assured and often feels the need for in-depth explanations of lore or arcane theory even if nobody's interested.

So, what do you think?

So many submissions! Wow! I'll make a decision over the weekend. Gotta find a fair way to sort through all you guys!

Alright as promised here is: Droven The Scarred; my the concept for my Tiefling Magus. Likely to go Blade-Bound arch-type and play as a dex-based dervish style character.

The crunch is still a bit variable, as some GMs are particular about dumping a stat below 9. I'd prefer to have a low STR character, but at low levels that makes things difficult if you're being strict about encumbrance rules (as I'd like to be able to wield my weapons and and wear armor without dropping into medium load). At later levels a handy haversack fixes that entirely, but it can kill/hamper a low level dex-based character. I'm also assuming I can take the average on HP till told otherwise.

I tend to go a little overboard with character creation and back-story, but I had a lot of fun writing it I hope you find it to your liking. I'm currently going to fill out his crunch and then throw in work on an Oracle/Cleric as a 2nd submission if you're still craving a divine full-caster.

Back story:

*His current Alias he's known as is "Dorven Scarfaced", but for simplicity's sake I'll be referring to him as Dorven in his back story. His actual name is under full name.

Dorven's birth was a diabolic one, his father Alenxitor Wintrish a minor noble of the affluent house of House Jeggare was unable to sire a son. In a panic to conceive a child to pass on his name and fortune he turned to a diabolic ritual to grant him fertility. The ritual worked and he sired a son, but the result was an infernal embarrassment.

The price payed to hell for his wish being granted was steep and a few years after his success he paid the price for the infernal solution to his problem with his life. His fortune and considerably estate unable to be passed on to his son was levied to his half-brother Nexrious Leroung a noble of the house of Leroung with the stipulation that the boy be cared for until he came of age and thenceforth would be divided evenly between both his Dorven and Nexrious.

Dorven's life was considerably difficult locked away in the attic of his uncles estate he never developed adequate social skills. A shameful secret kept by the family his younger cousin Triften Leroung would often play a cruel game of challenging Dorven to "Duels" with swords a game Triften likened to "practicing with a live dummy" as Dorven was often completely unarmored in contrast to Triften and suffered the painful cuts from his blade as such he learned the art of dodging a heavy handed blow.

Dorven's one refuge in life was kind hearted old wizard Hashriem from Manket in Rahadoum, who would be his caretaker and master. The wizard had been hired to study and unlock the secrets of an ancient Thassilonian sword known as "Bloodstorm-Fang". Hashriem's study of the blade was considered an abject failure and as punishment he was given the duty of caretaker to the Nexrious dirty little secret. The wizard took kindly to the boy and began teaching him the basics of wizardry and unbeknown to the Leroung family made progress in unlocking the bloodstorm fang's secrets involving arcane experiments with Dorvens blood.

One evening during his studies Dorven's life was turned upside down as Triften angry with the old wizard petulantly demanded the blood storm fang as his birthright and in a fit of rage promised that the blade would unlock its magical secrets if it tasted the blood of a foolish old wizard. In a panic Dorven protected his master and caretaker accidentally killing the son of his legal guardian. Hashriem was mortally wounded in the attack. Knowing that the slaying of Nexrious's son would not go unharshly punished Hashriem directed the panicked young Tiefling to seek out an old associate from his days adventuring to smuggle the boy into Rahadoum.

Wanted for murder Dorven fled the city of thorns with the Bloodstorm Fang for Corentyn where he made contact with Hashriems old friend a charming old rogue by the name of Salikie, who had a hand in smuggling him across the border into Rahadoum. Because of his new found infamy Dorven was forced to cut off his single vestigial horn in order to pass through the Chelexian borders an act that left him horribly scared.

Unfortunately for Nexrious Leroung the disappearance of Dorven before his coming of age left his fathers assets in forfeiture and where seized by the thrice damned house of Thrune. Not only that, but the loss of the Bloodstorm Fang made him a laughing stock among his own noble house. His contacts in the church of Asmodeus have put out a bounty on Dorven, a task made all the more difficult by Rahadoum's strict laws against religion hindering the churches efforts in locating him. Should Dorven be captured and brought back to the Cheliax his fathers fortune will fall to Nexrious and his position among his house will greatly improve.

Since his flight from Cheliax Dorven has spent his time as a wandering agent and mercenary for hire. He has spent the last 20 years working security amongst desert caravans as a method for keeping himself under the radar and constantly mobile to avoid being easily located and usually operates under an alias his current being "Dorven" or as those that know him "Dorven the Scarred".

Appearance:
Dorven's most notable feature is his massive disfiguring scar that runs across the left side of his forehead a remnant of his single vestigial horn that he cut off 20 years ago. His eyes are hazel with a slight crimson hue and his skin is an olive cheliaxian hue with a slight pale yellow tint. His black hair is shoulder length unkempt and frazzled. He has a birthmark in the shape of the infernal three eyed insignia of the arch-devil Barbatos along his right shoulder blade. His nails grow unnaturally into sharp points and his knees are double jointed, the former being quite useful when dodging an attack. He wears a filthy mattered travelers cloak and chain-shirt a hood often hiding his scarred face. A longbow rests at his back along with a fine rapier at his side he keeps his stolen scimitar hidden away in his backpack.

Personality:
Despite his lack of charm Dorven is generally good natured and often finds himself helping the poor or down trotted. A little quite and introverted by nature he often is a little slow to warm to strangers and usually keeps them at an arms length careful to keep his identity and past a secret. He has little regard for laws or honor and often dictates his actions based on what feels "correct" or good. He has often manages to accomplish a deed of heroism and typically avoids taking the credit or even acknowledging his hand took part. Curious by nature and gifted with a quasi photographic memory he's extremely fond books and dusty old tomes. He's quite fond of gambling and tobacco and cheap wines and is the occasional pesh user. He often finds it hard not to reply with biting sarcasm at most convenient opportunity.

Role in the Party:
He will likely have moderate to high AC and decent to fantastic damage output once he picks up his black blade and combines it with dervish dance. He can also be used as for lore/knowledge roll purposes and will be investing ranks into disable device to pick up any slack if there's no rogue in the party. His limited spell selection favors blasting/battle-field control, but he can always pick up utility spells for a more all-around arcane support.

What he won't ever be able to accomplish is being party talker, but his build is quite flexible allowing him to flow into whatever is needed at the time while not being stellar at any given role he can hold his own still functioning sideline as a arcane-support/melee character. He'll be picking up a wand of infernal healing to heal himself on the cheap.

guys im just going to point out for later submissions what we have in our party

1 armored hulk barbarian

1 Paladin oath vs Undead

1 Emphyreal Knight Paladin

1 Ranger Fighter

I hate to say this since there are so many submissions but the need for damage based characters is very very low as all of our party is just damage output already

taje this as you will but I thought someone should point this out

Anyways Dorven the Scarred is done and ready for inspection. Let me know if everything is OK, or if I need to change anything.

I paid special consideration in picking up a spell that will heal over 65% of my hp per day and grabbed up a wand to do the same thing if needed. I also grabbed up masterwork thieves tools and dipped into to disable device for traps/locks up to a DC is 27 in the absence of roguish characters.

I'll likely throw up a Cleric/Oracle/Inquisitor when I get around to it.

Hmm...without access to my computer, Herolab and the like I am afraid I might need to drop out because all I can easily supply for my Ranger is thus:

Ok well guys here we are. Not as casty a list as I would have liked. But lets get some votes. You can vote once. You can also abstain from voting, essentially telling me "Nah...I like things just the way they are."

Lizardfolk cleric?

Did I miss anyone?

Speaking for myself, I would like to vote for myself and the Bard/Oracle. If two characters are what you're accepting this time. What I think the team needs is the Bard/Oracle and the Scroll Master Wizard.

DM Only:
Okay...I hate even thinking about making a statement that would have an influence over something like this, since I've been rejected from my share of applications into games.

The Teifling Magus, Bard Oracel and Psion Shaper get the higher votes simply for having finished character pages and hence making your job as Dm easier. In next descending order run the Gunslinger, Scroll Master Wizard and then Half-Elf ranger.

Now, the explanation of why I've listed them in the orders I have. First in the order is the one I'd be most interested to see how the class played. So the Magus as a class I think needs to be seen more, the same with the Gunslinger.

For purely illogical and personal gripe reasons that make absolutely no sense (I freely admit to now) I hate Psionics....it's irrational and I can't really give a reason, *Hangs head* Hence why the Psion shaper gets pushed to the bottom of the choice list.

The Bard oracle is interesting, simply again to see how the new Oracle class brings different things to the mix. Hence the same for the Scroll master. This, unfortunately by the process of elimination puts the Psion and the ranger at the bottom of both choice lists. :(

I understand I haven't given a 'Vote' as such, but I hope my words have given my reasons, meaning and emotions behind them. Again, as a player, I thank yourself for the time and effort you are giving to we players and I again envy you not the decision you have to make in regards who wins and who loses. *Bows*

"Whew! Some times I does talk waaay too muchly!" (^_^)

Not entirely sure the GM is asking for votes from those that submitted characters or if you're even allowed more than one vote.

I'm assuming you posted up your thoughts/vote in spoilers sunny? If that's the case I'd be thankful if everyone else followed suite as would be weird knowing who voted for who on the off-chance I get to play.

For the DM on the crazy off-chance you're accepting votes from recruits:

Vote: Bard/Oracle.

I'd vote for myself, but that seems to defeat the purpose of who I'd prefer to 'play' with. Also objectivity comes to mind and objectively I'd wager a bard/oracle would fit best in the party.

I wish everyone good luck everyone and happy gaming!*

*Except for the guy who suggested the lizardfolk cleric. I sincerely hope bad things happen to him for some reason.

Grand Lodge

Mister DM, I have posted my Scroll Master's vital stats on this profile for you to peruse and give you a better idea of who my character is. Background will be up soon, along with his appearance. If there are any problems, please let me know.

My Vote is on the Ranger or the Oracle/Bard, or even the Wizard.

Spoiler:
I say Bard/Oracle and Scrollmaster Wizard

Alright. I've made my decision. Based on the classes we already have (and that I don't want to duplicate), the parties preferences, and my own DMing experience, I'd love to invite Dell Franklin, the scrollmaster wizard and Bardolin, the Bard Oracle, into the party.

Gentlemen, welcome to the campaign. Please feel free to browse recent posts and give me a little flavor on what brings you to the Salt Fortress. We can work together on this--I just want to get your ideas.

I'm sure you've all been in that boat of not getting accepted to a game before, so you know how it is. I would like to express congrats to the players who got in and wish you all high dice rolls, good role playing, and a happy gaming. :)

To MuadQuim it's rare to see a creative homebrew run outside of the standard used AP around these parts. I applaud you and couldn't tip my hat harder in your direction if I'd tried. Wish you the best and if you're ever in the market for Re-Re-Recuiting hopefully you'll keep an eye out for me and thanks again for the consideration.

To late, ahh well, happy gaming to all of you, if they indeed open up and you still need a healer, what about a Witch with the healing hex?
