"Yes, you stay with the cargo."
But that that moment, the caravan master held up his arms as a thief was poking him in the back. "On the other hand. . ."
The thief wore black and red, a nice combination. He had a knife that was wavy, poking the caravan master in the back. "Why don't my friends and I take your stuff, fat boy."

John Mandrake |

John nods his head, "Yes, you could also do that too. But in the long term, you wouldn't be better off." He looks around at his teammates and winks. "We surly wouldn't mind cleaning up, but we don't always like to fight.

EltonJ |

"Not everyone," says the thief. "We don't. We just want to take the booty and like any pirate, sell it on the black market."
The scene you are in is in a market. It's also broad daylight. On one stand you have oranges. On another stand, spices, and chickens and pigs on two other stands. In corrals are horses, ready to be bid on a new owner. Lastly, precious stones and gems are being sold on another cart. Besides the buildings that surround the alley.
The place looks like a place where an intense fight can happen.

Gormuk Whiteye |

Gormuk grins at the masked men. "You are fools to rob us. You will not succeed." The Witch will lower his hood and let his scarred face be fully revealed. He will pet his crossbow, resting at his side. "You should be waiting for night time to be out theiving, yes ? Cowards like you are allergic to the light of day, no?" Gormuk looks around for what might amount to some sort of city official or guard.

John Mandrake |

Mister stands up straighter as he feels the tension in the air.
"No Mister, just some fools are trying to rob us." John replies in common.
"Yes Mister, You can eat them if you like." he replies.

Mister's Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

John starts to chant the spell for grease as Mister stands in up in front of him. He places it under the most robbers that he can. DC15 reflex or falling

"If it's a fight you want, then it's a fight you get!"
Intimidation sometimes riles up your enemy. So it didn't work.
"Boys, get them!", said the head robber. And the band of robbers make their attack. One of them cut a bag of gems and small diamonds start spilling out on the floor between you.
Robbers' Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

EltonJ |

Just need initiative from two others. I think.
So far initiative counts:
Robbers -- 21
Kain -- 17
Saelihn -- 16
Callanon -- 16
John -- 14
Mister -- 13
Gormulk -- 8
The Robbers go first, and their act is to spill the diamonds across the floor, with the crowds bending down to pick them up so that they have about 50% cover from the crowds. A few are looking for an opening so that they can get their chosen enemies. Callanon's transformation into a giant serpent not withstanding, only one robber wanted to get Callanon.
Kain is next.

Kain Ardent Brandt |

Kain will guide Valere through the crowd to the closest bandit and thrust at his chest with his spear.
Valere will also attempt to bite the bandits arm

the horse is large and I have a reach weapon, so to hit me specifically, the bandit must take an AoO I believe. Correct me if I am wrong on this though first mounted character.

Saélihn |

Yeah they'll risk an AoO from both you and your horse
Saélihn sends an arrow streaking towards one of the bandits, a shrill piercing whistle blaring through the entire area, startling the crowd.

Gormuk Whiteye |

Gormuk will take a step back so he is not in the front line of combat and watch the skirmish begin to unfold. He still tries to keep an eye out for some sort of city official. If a shot makes itself clear, the half off witch will take it.
Heavy Crossbow: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21

One of the robbers expire with the actions of Gormulk and Callanon. There are four robbers left.
This time, the robber put a burning log down in the middle of the crowd, causing the crowd to clear and disperse. There is a lot of room to maneuver as three robbers disappear into the crowds, one of them taking a prized ruby.

Sigvald Derleth Waite |

Gormuk Whiteye |

Gormuk will let his second turn be used by reloading his crossbow. As he does so he will look to the merchant, rather calmly. "these theives seems to know we had valuables and where to go to get them. Friends of yours? Or maybe friends of the elves?"

EltonJ |

The thieves who are left manage to steel a large ruby.

any robbers within 20ft of Callanon?
There was one, but Kain already slew him.
Edit: Mental note to actually work up a map.

Later, the caravan master had completed his cargo onboard ship. "Alright everyone, are you ready to go aboard to see Chessenta?" he asked. Chessenta was a long way, but it was different than Chondath in several respects. It was time to see those changes upclose. "Come aboard, remember we do have a contract."

John Mandrake |

Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 15
John stands up and starts walking to board the ship. "Come on Mister, We've got work to do."
Getting up and following his master, Mister starts to walk as well.

Sigvald Derleth Waite |

About time we got on baord a ship... yarr me hearties.. less get abourd with the plunder... "
Before he gets aboard Sigvald says a short mumbled prayer to Valkur and makes a sign with 3 finders pointed down then he boards
