Helorus - At exercise with Thom
Wednesday, April 7th 1875; Morning to Day
"You know, Mr. Andrews, I quite believe that these exercises of yours help - I slept quite soundly last night, and awoke right where I fell asleep! A welcome change from these past few nights, I must admit. Who did you say your doctor acquaintance was?"
Katherine chats with Thom regarding Dr. Kellogg as they walk and the young inventor notes they seem not to have a "shadow" today. The pair returns to the Pallaver House without incident, where Thom finds Mr. Wright has procured his usual morning amenities.

Thom Andrews |

"...ah, yes- Doctor John Kellogg. He only just graduated from the New York University School of Medicine a few months ago. I didn't know him from school though, being myself a Columbia man. No, I made his acquaintance at the Academy of Music, New York's premiere opera house. He's a very interesting man with a very interesting theory on holistic health. Some of his ideas were... well, too extreme for me, but his advice on a fiber rich diet, daily fitness routines, and time spent regularly in the sun have all proven quite effective for me..."
When they arrive back at the house Thom bows and offers, "I sincerely hope that this continues to aid you. If you'd like to learn more about Dr. Kellogg's theories I'd be glad to put you in touch with him. To the best of my knowledge he's still in the city, though last time I spoke with him there was some thought that he might return to his hometown in Michigan."
He thanks Mr. Wright for his attentiveness and gives his valet the correspondences he wrote last night to be delivered to the post office. After completing the remainder of his morning rituals, he freshens up and heads downstairs in his brown suit with a burgundy waistcoat and brown bowler hat. "What shall it be today, gentlemen," he asks rather cheerily, "another day of study, or shall we pay a visit to the Catholicon?"

Louie struggles to keep his eyes open as he sets out to see what lies behind the minstrel's door.
"Il faut vraiment que je fasse la grasse matinee..."
He shuts his eyes and drifts to sleep, startling awake 4 hours later when Thom and Miss Katherine return.

Oculus awakens and attributes his lethargy to the drinking of the night before. Determined to out Stanislav as some kind of villain, Oculus sets about finding the Russian. He will shadow Stanislav for the entire day.

"We should see this 'Catholicon,' if only to see where poor August died, yes?" The Russian chuckles as Oculus, pale and red-eyed, comes down the stairs and walks into the sitting room. "And it looks like our Mister Oculus here could use the fresh air, no? To dispel his demons from last night," he says knowingly.

Louie sits up, lets out a big yawn, and stretches elbows out shoulders thrown back.
"Anyone feel like holding down the fort here, keeping an eye on Miss Katherine and such?"
"I guess she could come along as well, but if she is not interested we should make sure she has one of us looking out for her."
He puts on his coat, pats his pocket checking for his knuckleduster, and empties his pack.
The last thing he pulls out is his carbine. He checks its ammunition, replaces it his pack, and slings the pack over his shoulder.
"Might want to borrow the lantern from the barn too, if you do not think Miss Katherine would mind?"

Thom Andrews |

"Perhaps one of our physicians would like to stay here to keep an eye on Miss Palliver?" Thom asks in reply to Louie's questions, "they would be most qualified if she has some manner of episode?"
When he sees Louie retrieve his carbine, he says, "oh, good thinking, Louie- I'll be right back..." before disappearing up the staircase. He returns a few moments later carrying a fairly fancy revolver that appears to have never been fired before.
