I finally remembered what I've meant to ask a long time ago. Can my eidolon benefit from Mage Armor? If so, I'll use my wand on him. His AC will then be 18 after that.
The eidolon will try to reach a place that he can attack the enemy! I believe he provokes an AoO getting to that position.

Thomas and Midnight Lord smash one of the skeletons while Culsar's eidolon takes down another. Picklebrew switches weapons.
Skip throws magical acid, but the crowded hallway reduces his accuracy and it misses.
Kryspi moves up and heals Cade, bringing him back to consciousness.
I'm unable to edit the map right now. Kryspi should be in a spot next to Cade.
Cade is up!
Cade Greenleaf |
Cade will attempt to stand, provoking attacks of opportunities. If he is still up after thet attacks, he will move 5' down and to the right to start to move around the skeletons, allowing for flanking and attack with his long sword.
@Kryspi - thanks for the heals!

Thomas smacks one skeleton with his chain, but the spikes on it rattle harmlessly against the bone. Midnight Lord growls and makes a feeble snap with its teeth that miss completely.
Picklebrew stabs with his spear, but misses as well.
Cade's longsword clatters down the ribs of a skeleton, the edge finding no soft tissue to cut.
Culsar's eidolon breaks the arm of one of the skeletons, but with a crunching sound, the limb straightens again, the damage slowly repairing itself.
Skip throws another spell overhead, and off down the stairs ahead.
Kryspi's Knowledge Religion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Close enough to see the enemy, Kryspi realizes that these undead are called Bloody Skeletons and knows that they are harder to destroy than normal skeletal undead. She also knows that blunt weapons are best to attack them with.

Stabilization: 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 - 2 = 4

I am, unfortunately, only speaking Celestial during combat. Tongues Curse.
Ms Kremm draws her morningstar in a flourishing dance move and points it toward the ceiling. A strange sing-songy phrase leaves her lips and positive energy pulses from her.
Draw weapon as a move action. Channel Positive as a standard action. Look fabulous as a free action.
Channel Positive Energy - Healing: 1d6 ⇒ 4
DM Rah |
Good point, Kryspi. However, I think the blunt weapon issue was pretty much apparent by now anyway.
Thomas ducks back out of reach of the skeleton and hurls a slingstone that smashes the head clean off. Culsar's eidolon then crushes the last one into bloody bits.
COMBAT OVER
There is nothing of interest in this room besides the bloody skeletal remains.
Cade Greenleaf |
"Let's try the last door before heading down the stairs. We should also keep our eyes out for something that would make a good club."
Do we want to consider resting? I'm not sure how everyone's spell reserve is looking, but I'm low and I still have 4 points of strength drain.
Kryspi Kremm |
Kryspi channels positive energy again, but this time to damage the destroyed skeletons one last time.

DM Rah |
Thomas, not completely. I think it's kind of funny that Thomas cracked a little at the thought of his wolf being mortally wounded.
Returning to the golem's room you find that the key fished from the pool to the north works on the lock to the door here as well. Beyond is a small chamber with a table on the opposite side of the room. On top of this table are a number of items, each with a small note attached.
Labeled with Cade's name is masterwork longsword.
Labeled with Thomas' name is a potion of cat's grace and an oil of magic weapon.
Labeled with Picklebrew's name is a masterwork spear.
Labeled with Skip's name is a scroll of sorching ray and a wand of magic missile (CL 1, 10 charges).
Labeled with Culsar's name is a scroll of web and a wand of mage armor (CL 1, 10 charges).
Labeled with Kryspi's name is a scroll of lesser restoration and a wand of cure light wounds (CL 1, 10 charges).
Thomas Linseed |
"The masters know our tastes well." Thomas muses, examining his new potion and oil.
"I guess the only way to go is to head down the stairs." Thomas thinks outloud.
Culsar Rankil |
Culsar gathers the belongings marked with his name and smiles. Well, looks like they got this far before whatever happened... happened.
DM Rah |
At the bottom of the stairs is a circular chamber with three passageways leading from it. In the center is a small stone pedestal. The sound of dripping water can be heard coming from the eastern passageway, while the stench of rot emanates from the west. The floor bears an inscription spiraling out from the pillar and written in Common.
It reads: “To the south you might take your ease, to rest and reflect on Kassen’s deeds. To the east lies the wheel, to open the gate. To the west is the resting place of Kassen, hero of the Fangwood.”
A strange echoing gurgle comes from the east.

Culsar Rankil |
Hmm, the correct path must be to the west where Kassen rests... wouldn't it? Culsar seems to be choosing to ignore the strange noises coming from the east.
Culsar Rankil |
Oh! I hadn't thought of that. Culsar is happy to let Picklebrew take the lead.
Cade Greenleaf |
@DM Rah - is using a spear as a bludgeoning weapon an improvised weapon or a club/quarterstaff?
"Well, here goes nothing."
Cade cups his hands together to gather some of the fountain water and then takes a sip.
Skip Flaxseed |
"Cool!" Skip exclaims as he examines the wand and scroll, casting read magic and detect magic to decipher their abilities. "These will prove useful! Let's keep going, this wand will help me out!"
Culsar Rankil |
Culsar does the same, following Picklebrew's lead once more. Let's hope we don't need it, though I'm sure that wish won't be granted.
Cade Greenleaf |
Once everyone takes the opportunity to re-hydrate, Cade starts moving towards the west. "Nothing like cleaning up just to go scour through more filth," Cade says, flashing a wry grin.
