A death dog's saliva contains hundreds of tiny eggs that grow into flesh-devouring worms. The worms don't harm the death dog, but consume any creatures they come into contact with. A death dog's corpse is contagious for several days after its demise and may infect creatures that touch or eat it. Remove disease can kill a death dog's worms and remove its disease ability, but if allowed to associate with others of its kind, its quickly becomes reinfected.
Their bite inflicts disease and they tend to like to knock down those they are attacking.
Tunar Vodrat |
Tunar comes walking through the gate.
"Oi! Why are you all just stand... Oh!"
Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Almathea |
Almathea suddenly realizes a few facts about these critters.
"Oh, eeww! Those are Death Dogs. Don't let them bite you, their saliva contains hundreds of tiny eggs that grow into flesh-devouring worms. "
Leto V. Derexhi |
Initiative: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Leto is taken aback by the view of the creatures.
Nice do...eww.

Tunar Vodrat |
Round 1, Initiative Count 14
What? Parasites!? Tunar looks like he is about to gag for a second before steeling himself and prepares for combat, letting his natural rage wash over him as he works into a frenzy.
Tunar will move towards or respond to the 'dogs' moving towards him.
Also entering Rage. Stats will reflect this but since they go before him his AC will be 16 flat-footed.
Grawrrrr! Tunar hollars as he swings his sword at the nearest dog.

The other snaps at Setesh.
Bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Lingering Rage Morale Bonuses

Possible Infestation?
Erei Jentis |
Round 2 - Initiative 22
Seeing one of the creatures already felled, Erei will stop singing and move behind and to the side of Tunar, stabbing the closest one with his longspear.
Longspear: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Can I tell if it's going to go all wriggly worm on him?
Heal: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
After checking out the wound, I'll close it up with Cure Light from the wand.
Almathea |
"Just watch out for any "doggie presents" while you do so though."
Almathea cautiously follows Setesh, looking out for any other dogs or their leavings.
"With any luck, those things will have kept anything worse from making its home in this area."
Game Master Listener |
This small, one-room structure is devoid of features, save the ruined remains of furniture that have all but disintegrated with the passage of time. Rusted metal hinges in the doorframe indicate that wooden doors once hung here.
The dogs seem to have dug up most of the floor and a thorough search of the room reveals a small pouch, long buried, that contains 7 gp, 3 sp, and 12 cp, and a turquoise earring worth 15 gp.
Setesh Bantling |
Setesh shrugs.
"Not much, but I honestly wouldn't expect dogs to covet treasure. Still, loot is loot!"
He then continues on a thorough search of the grounds.
Still 'Taking 10' on Perception.
Tunar Vodrat |
Tunar quickly brushes himself off, thoroughly checking to make sure nothing seems to be crawling on or under his skin. "For once, I think I might have rather skipped that fight..." before nodding in thanks at Nevai.
"Place is probably infested with ancient death fleas of doom, or something kin anyways."
Setesh Bantling |
So nothing else?
Setesh nods in satisfaction.
"Let's finish clearing the outbuildings, and then move on to the central manor."
He then moves to explore the next building.
Again, Taking 10 on Perception.
Game Master Listener |
As you approach the buildings to the north you see the skeletal remains of nearly a dozen people. At first, it seems like they've been posed sitting in seats around a table and lying on long since decayed cots in the homes. As you step closer, they slowly and quietly rise and turn their empty eye sockets towards you. Mouths open in silent screams, they rush towards the group.
Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Go ahead and roll Initiative. You have 9 skeletons rushing you. They appear unarmed and unarmored.
Leto V. Derexhi |
Initiative: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Round 1:
Leto charges one of the skeletons with a jump kick.
Unarmed Strike: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 2 = 81d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
If flagbearer active, add in please.
Unfortunately his aim is totally off and carried by his own momentum, he flies by the skeletons head he aimed for several feet away.
Nevai Alaro |
"I bet he's not even going to save me any of that snake..." Nevai says softly to himself.
Initiative: 1d20 ⇒ 16
"These poor people never received a sending to their final rest. You're right Setesh, I can help here."
Erei Jentis |
Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

Round 1, Initiative 16
Tunar moves to the nearest skeleton, bringing his sword in a sidecut, and attempts to cleave the pile of bones in two.
Greatsword w/ Power Attack: 1d20 + 7 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 7 - 1 + 1 = 13
Damage: 2d6 + 6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (2, 6) + 6 + 3 + 1 = 18

Round 1:
Leto leaps forward but in his rush fails to hit.
Initiative 24
The skeletons swarm over the group and flail their limbs at the adventurers.
The two standing by Leto swing away, one coming away with some blood.

Claw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Setesh,
Claw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
and Nevai,
Claw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Tunar takes a strong swing and nearly hits one of the skeletons but manages to only clip it and do no noticeable damage.
Erei and Almathea both manage to connect with their targets, knocking the skeletons around a little bit.
Setesh and Nevai still have actions this round. The skeletons and group are all mixed very closely as no one had a chance to move around much. It's very chaotic, but minimal movement will afford people flank attacks. (Though keep in mind that if the group of skeletons isn't thinned out, they'll get a few flank attacks next round as well.)
Leto V. Derexhi |
Round 2 Ini 26
Leto tries to make a small step into a flanking position and punch and kick some bones!
IUS: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 221d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
+2 if flanking and another +1/+1 if Flagbearer is active

Before swinging again at the one who bit him.
Greatsword w/ Power Attack: 1d20 + 7 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 7 - 1 + 1 = 10
Damage: 2d6 + 6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (3, 1) + 6 + 3 + 1 = 14
Erei Jentis |
Round 2 - Initiative 10

Longspear: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Active Effects: Flagbearer (+1 morale to attack/damage)
Nevai Alaro |
Round 2, Init 16
"This time I mean it. Be at peace, now and forever!" Nevai shouted as an even stronger wave of energy rolled forth to destroy the skeletal masses.
Channel Energy (DC 16, no channel resist): 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Seven: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Eight: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Setesh smashes one of the skeletons to bits. Nevai's wave of energy washes over the undead and two (the ones struck by Almathea and Erei) crumble into dust and blow away in the wind.
Round 2:
Leto knocks around one of the skeletons attacking him and leaves it in pieces.
Initiative 24
One skeleton remains to attack Leto, and again comes away bloody.
Claw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Claw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19 Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
One flails away at Tunar, shifting to gain an advantage with its partner.

Claw: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 + 2 = 19 Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Three: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Four: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
All but one of the remaining skeletons turn to dust. Erei steps forward and slams his longspear through the skull of the last skeleton and it stops moving.
Nevai Alaro |
After the dust settled, Nevai took out his wand and closed the gashes in his arm left by the skeletons. As he looked up he held up the wand and asked, "Anyone else?"
If you, don't mind, just post how many charges you need and I'll mark them off.
Leto V. Derexhi |
Uh yes please, that would be very kind. Old and brittle bones, but sharp claws and a malicious will.
Tunar Vodrat |
Tunar studies the gashes lining his arms and chest, "Ah, now that was a fight, eh? I suppose I could do with a couple pokes from that there healing stick."
Tunar takes a swig of all from his pack in to settle his nerves over the wand.
Two charges will get me close enough.
Nevai Alaro |
Nevai followed his companions, keeping a wary eye for the restless dead.
You're all patched up now. 6 total charges spent.

Tunar Vodrat |
"Well, Skeletons, dead dogs, giant centipedes, what an interesting day this is turning out to be."
Crossing his eyes as Almathea speaks.
"Agreed, I enjoy fightin, but getting a little somethin for it makes it much better."
Erei Jentis |
I'm assuming you didn't spend a charge on me which is good as I'm not really worried about 3 HP.
Erei shrugs, I did tell you that variety was not lacking in these places. Money usually comes at the end. Or at least once we actually get past the front door.
