second edit: I should have posted this earlier, but I PM'ed Horvus over the holidays & he seems to be feeling at least a bit better, although he, like me, is not a terribly 'holiday happy' kind of person. He is also on the hunt for the elusive 'good job' it seems.

Carmina: Yamyra is correct, the cave fisher is about 35' off the ground perched on a ledge in the cavern wall. I will give you 24 hours to post a revised action before I move things along.

As for the job hunting situations everyone is in nowadays, due to the political tones involved with such, I won't say anything except good luck and don't give up!

So, reading through the crossed out part of Carmina's post, did anyone else get a mental image of Carmina out in the African Savannah, armed with naught but teeth and claw, hunting the elusive gazelle, or more likely, lions and rhinos? After all, where is the sport if they can't kill you too?

Once again I must apologize for the map situation. My friend who hosts the wiki where I post the maps you see is having PC issues again. I understand if you don't want to sign up for G+ so I will describe the chamber here: It is a 40' by 40' octagonal room with doors in the center of each of the compass points. The statue occupied the exact center of the room, with the larva on the opposite side approximately 30' away.

Does that negate Yamyra's action as well? Considering she wouldn't have cast the spell on herself if she didn't have to.

Yeah, you don't have to cast that spell if you don't want to. I just assumed you would cast it even if combat ended.

Can Gared aid another on a spell craft check? I fan definitely imagine him knowing some old peice of dwarven or halfling lore that helps a more practiced mage remember something useful about a particular bit of magic.

Gared: Yes I will allow an Aid Another check, as long as you are also able to cast Detect Magic.

Fair enough. Gared actually doesn't know detect magic, so he won't be any help in this case unless read magic would be a fair substitute.

Ok, now I'm starting to see some of the arguments about Eidolon's...

Of course, it could just as much be an argument about Enlarge Person... Though I seem to recall a few threads about that being a bit overpowered as a 1st level buff spell as well.

How do the rest of you guys feel? Please let me know if you feel as though Me/Fancy are hogging the spotlight.

Do I even need to make a Knowledge (arcana) check to recall that Summoned beings don't leave a corpse when 'killed'? Because that is the first place my thoughts are going.

My philosophy has been while Summoners (and their Eidolon companions) may be more powerful as compared to other classes out there, it has not bothered me inasmuch you do not have a front line fighter in your group. So Fancy fills that role admirably. Going back to the days of Original DnD, there have been overpowered classes like the magic-user and the monk.

That fight you breezed through was because I rolled poorly for the imp/nupperibos initiatives so they were all flat footed, he he.

As for the Enlarge Person spell, it does take a full round to cast so that does balance it out. Still feel free to let the feeling of overconfidence fill your minds. Nothing makes a DM chuckle sadistically than an overconfident player, he he.

EDIT: Yamyra is on the correct path here....but the question remains WHO (or WHAT) summoned them?

Imps are really nasty in a fight, which we didn't really get into, and a good knowledge check and silver weapons really helped us there. It would have been a brutal fight if we'd ended up dealing with a pair of imps without knowing what they were or their vulnerability to silver, regardless of the prowess of Eidolons.

I'm not one bit worried about someone overshadowing my full spellcaster/3 natural attacks tiefling. :D

Besides, 2d6+6 while enlarged isn't even much. A greatsword-wielding barbarian could do that without being enlarged or even raging.

Hey guys, sorry for being MIA. I've been really ill this past week and it doesn't seem to be letting up. All of my available time and energy has gone to not getting too far behind in classes.

. . .Though really, if you think about it, Fancy is a Native Outsider of one sort, and Ganer is a desendant of another sort of Native Outsider, and he has a high score in Knowledge (Planes), so. . .No. I still haven't read (and Paizo will likely never declare) anything that actually states that an Eidolon is a unique, seperate entity from the Summoner that called it, as opposed to being a manifest aspect of that character's personality.

That's kind of the idea behind the Eidolon for the Summoner I'm playing, it's a giant spider that protects a character who is terrified of spiders. Kind of like a more subconscious explanation for that part on Batman Begins.

1) Did Yamyra manage to activate her Bond Senses class ability when the explosion occurred?
2) If she did, what effect did it have on her?

Yamyra: I assume you mean the Life Link ability? To answer your question, yes Yamyra can use that ability to keep Fancy from being sent back to her home plane.
