Turning to the rest of the party, he asks, "So, where is it, exactly, that we are to be working? For that matter, where will we be staying?"


As the Dockmaster extends his hand for the group to descend from the ship. The group of "guests" from ship are Thar,Erdath,Cil,Saronis,the mysterious half elf, a dwarf who has multiple rings in his beard, and a shifter. As soon the last foot leaves the ramp, it retracts.
I am afraid to inform that you that I must detain you for questioning. The Dockmaster informs the group.
The Shifter who looks annoyed turns his head to the Dockmaster and says Why are we being detained? Some of us have urgent business here in the city.
I am sooo sorry for the delay but there has been a theft reported to me. I have recieved news from Sharn that this ship was smuggling stolen goods. Now if you will come with me I am sure we can "clear" this up.
The Dockmaste once again extends his hand towards area of the dock. At the same time the guards have moved into defensive formation. There are total of 10 guards and the Dockmaster.
The mysterious half elf turns to the shifter and says Why don't you be good guest and just give up what you stole...
What are you talking about... The Shifter says in a panic voice.
Maybe the Elves and Warforged are the thieves The Shifter says in his defense.
I will ask once again please come with us. The Dockmaster says to the group.


The guards pull their swords and take a more aggressive stance. The shifter feeling threated he pulls his sword.

Grasping the hilt of the Dagger of Eradis, Cil calls upon its power, causing a web to spring forth and cover the dockmaster and 4 guards in front of the group.


Erdath I did a time jump for us, things like crafting or sorting out the gear was done in the "past", I am assuming all the things you needed to do like that are done

Are we in a Surprise round? I don't much see the basis for that, but if we're not, they still get actions, which they can use to get out of the Web.

The first guard closes to Erdath takes a swing at him with his Scimitar. The sword bounces off but slides off the armor of the warforged.

Alright, a couple of things.

First, flat damage on a crit is multiplied as well, and the damage on me should be one higher.

Second, there was no provocation from me that would lead them to believe that I would be resisting, nor did I intend to. I was never told to protect the shifter, I don't know this shifter, and I was going to go right ahead with them without causing a fuss. All I've done so far is sigh.

Tharivello casts a spell defensively, muttering "Le do thoil, a chosaint dom ó na amadáin."

Tharivello puts his hands up. "What in Khyber was that for? In case you hadn't noticed, I haven't done anything to you, or your companions," he says, breathing heavily as he loses blood, speaking to the guard who just attacked him.


I am sorry to miss the dmg to you. I will recheck my education of the 3.5 system. Also I believe that since you where apart of the group tht came from the ship. The guards had reasonable belief that you were apart of the group thus you posed a threat.

Cil watches the shifter flee like a coward "Kyber's balls!" she shouts after the shapeshifter "I'll remembere...ah!" she cries as she parries a guard's scimitar at the last moment.

Getting back to business, her rapier flies through the air in a clever riposte.

As Cil manages to defend herself the rest of the Guards look to the Dockmaster. The Dockmaster seeing himself in bad bind and also being a professioanl coward starts to yell at the remaing guard who are free and at the group defending themselves.
Stop Stop this is not what we need! He hopes to stop more bloodshed, he can see that from the group he outclassed by the adventurers. Seeing his man Guin dead at the Sarnonis hand makes him afraid of the group. He is hoping to stop the fighting and save himself. Each of the remaining free guards take a step back from the group. Fearing the Dockmaster more than the blades of Cil and crew. The guard closes to Thar says Parlay Parlay !

He turns, looking out towards where the shifter jumped. Any chance he can still see the shifter? He shouldn't have been able to get very far, using a full round action to move half his speed, or move actions to move a quarter, unless, of course, he's one of the diver shifters, of which the name eludes me.

I can see that since he left and retreated you are not with him. As he says this the 2 of the guards help cut the webing. One of the guards starts to load his crossbow and looks over at Saronis. You won't kill me like you did Guin, if I shoot at him? He says to the Elf.

Sword:

Let him die he has served my purpose and now the locals know how powerfurel you are!

I assume you're meaning a Spot check, and not a Perception check, as we're playing 3.5e. If I'm incorrect, and you wanted listen, I've got the same modifier on both.
