A goblin, and a decidedly ugly one at that. Lets move!

Lem opens the door next to him.

This chamber appears to still be in use. Its floors have recently been swept, and its three tables appear to be organized and well kept. Arranged across the tables are numerous strange alchemical devices, some of which are suspended over low-burning flames and emit pale ribbons of smoke. Others simply bubble and boil of their own volition.

Three goblins seem to be tending to the alchemical devices.

kyra i guess, moving to stand behind lem as he opens the door says to the goblins in common , We know some of you are captives, but we come in peace and to stop whatever foul mind is holding you captive. You are free to go if you leave in peace.

she keeps her sword down and attempts diplomacy, so no ready action.

Friend! Help us! The others wants to kill us! Make sure they don't goes through this door!

Opposed charisma check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

And then closes the door as a move action.

Let's hope that solves itself nicely, shall we? Shall we take the other door and see what's over there?

Will: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Did any of you understand what that cute little halfling was saying?

The goblin walks towards the door and opens it.

Lem "The Bard" wrote:

Sure

The goblin hugs you back! But then something seems to startle it.

Goblin:
Is that Snarltongue dead on the floor?

40/40 HP | AC 22, T 10, FF 22 | Fort +6, Ref +1, Will +5| CMB+7, CMD 17 | Init +0 | Perception +1 | Speed: 20 Paladin 4

Should it be my turn by now, I'll delay until the goblin seems hostile. I'm not trusting it, but it seems okay for now.

The goblin (purple) speaks to the other goblins.

Goblin:
The longshanks killed Snarltongue! Kill them, but keep the halfling alive!

A goblin (green) picks up a flask from the table and tosses it to Kyra

To Hit: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 6 - 2 = 10 Hits!

kyra moves up and closes the door.
i gave it a shot. this is why we kill goblins.

fire: 1d6 ⇒ 3
13 dmg so far
put yourselves out, and lets heal, then lets go after these f~*$ers

lem opened the door, but none of the rest were in a position to explore the next room. lets get into position and do this proper so the GM doesn't leave us scattered. GM since Lini is AFK a bit, please move her up and use the wand i guess she still has out.

Lini can you please heal me again?

This is just alchemist's fire so it only burns a single turn.

Ghosting Lini

Lini cures Kyra.

"Lem, why did you open that door! We hadn't even searched this room!"

40/40 HP | AC 22, T 10, FF 22 | Fort +6, Ref +1, Will +5| CMB+7, CMD 17 | Init +0 | Perception +1 | Speed: 20 Paladin 4

Alchemist fire only burns for one round, right? So I shouldn't take damage anymore after this?

Fire damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4

Delay until we have a battle plan. Do we want to rush into the room, or draw them in here?
Also, I presume the steps of the dais are difficult terrain?

"Er, guys, this isn't ideal terrain for this. Do we run in there, or fall back so we have a better shot at them?"

Seelah_PbP wrote:

Indeed

Seelah_PbP wrote:

I consider 'steps up' to be difficult terrain, but 'steps down' are not.

The Exchange

Female human ( human cleric 4 | hp 35 | AC 17 | touch 10 | ff 17 | Fort +6 | Ref +3 | Will +9 | Perception +4 )

Lini can stand by and open the door. we can stand to the side. None of us can make an illusionary target for them to shoot at right? ::looks at lem:: then one of us can go defensive and maybe dodge what they throw. they may retreat anyway to some other room. we don't know the layout. they do.

Lini gets ready to open the door, we line up by the wall on either side. and then move in, and stay at least ten feet apart so they can't bombard us in groups.

::looks around::

Maybe it is better for one of us to hold the door closed while the rest of us search this room for now. we _didnt_ search it. and maybe there's some useful stuff in here. or on that goblin's dead body.

if no one else volunteers. Lini and Droo will hold the door closed and guard the door respectively ( from the side ), while Lem, Seelah and I search the room.

perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

Seconded?

Lini is the better searcher though (perception +11). Seelah is stronger and better equipped to hold the door closed. Droogami does not have hands for instance.

The Exchange

Female human ( human cleric 4 | hp 35 | AC 17 | touch 10 | ff 17 | Fort +6 | Ref +3 | Will +9 | Perception +4 )

was just using her b/c she's ghosted at the moment. if seelah is cool holding the door, having us search is way better. agreed.

As Seelah holds the door the rest of the party searches the room.

Snarltongue's Axe is magical. The liquids contained in the three vials screwed in his skull radiate magic (but the liquids are heavily polluted with goblin brainfluid).

Behind the table on the dias is a bucket filled with rotten viscera. Inside what seems to be goblin bowels there's a feather ratiating strong magic.

Feather Spellcraft DC27:
It's a feather token: Bird. Cheap magic item, but casterlevel 12.

The Exchange

Female human ( human cleric 4 | hp 35 | AC 17 | touch 10 | ff 17 | Fort +6 | Ref +3 | Will +9 | Perception +4 )

I have no idea what that is, but its magical.

The axe, someone should take. Seelah? your sword is magical?

since she can't do much about it. she'll pick up snarltongue's axe, and see if she can use the axehead to kind of ... disect the feces pile and pinpoint what's magical. slowly and carefully.

The small battleaxe is just a +1 enhancement.

Seelah:
The goblins tried to open the door twice, but you easily managed to keep the door closed. It seems they have stopped their efforts.

40/40 HP | AC 22, T 10, FF 22 | Fort +6, Ref +1, Will +5| CMB+7, CMD 17 | Init +0 | Perception +1 | Speed: 20 Paladin 4

Seelah puts her shoulder against the door.
"Guys? I think they're planning something. They're not even trying to open the door anymore."

Yeah, sorry about that. I assume they're going to light the place on fire, as usual. I think we should create a counter-diversion!

The Exchange

Female human ( human cleric 4 | hp 35 | AC 17 | touch 10 | ff 17 | Fort +6 | Ref +3 | Will +9 | Perception +4 )

we're done searching here, right?

ok, everyone in positions by the door. Lini, you peek, Seelah, you hold the door and be ready to shut it, if it is a fire, we'll have to see if we can find a way around, not give it more air.

As Seelah opens the door you see the room as it was before, except for the goblins who are nowhere to be seen.

The Exchange

Female human ( human cleric 4 | hp 35 | AC 17 | touch 10 | ff 17 | Fort +6 | Ref +3 | Will +9 | Perception +4 )

start a detect magic , and peek in with lini

round 1: Yes, magic
round 2: 3 auras
round 3: Seems to originate from flasks on the tables (1 on each table)

The Exchange

i don't trust it... but okay.
lets go in. Seelah , Lini, then myself and lem bringing up the rear, lets cover the other exits of the room and i'll go for the flasks to gather them before we search the rest of the room. Careful, they could just be hiding behind tables, so go in defensively.

Says Kyra, and then gets in position.

What did she manage to fish out of the pile of s+~@ with the axe by the way ? did i miss that or did it not get inventoried ?

The fact that they're not here bothers me... one of them thinks he's he's my friend, but you can probably guess how goblins treat their 'friends'... Would it be an idea to retreat the other way and lay an ambush there? If only one of us could function as bait...

40/40 HP | AC 22, T 10, FF 22 | Fort +6, Ref +1, Will +5| CMB+7, CMD 17 | Init +0 | Perception +1 | Speed: 20 Paladin 4

Seelah chuckles and says, "Well, you're his friend, right? Seems like perfect bait for me. He might not even hurt you right away.
I kid, of course. I'll volunteer to be bait if no one steps up. If they come close to me, at least I'll be in range to hit them this time."

Yes, but what if they start hurling alchemical substances at you instead? I feel like this is something I'll have to do alone.

40/40 HP | AC 22, T 10, FF 22 | Fort +6, Ref +1, Will +5| CMB+7, CMD 17 | Init +0 | Perception +1 | Speed: 20 Paladin 4

Oh, speaking of which, I took damage. I took 6, and I carry a Wand of CLW (15 charges). I'll mark off one and have 1 damage leftover.

After Seelah heals up she goes in front and enters the room.

Perception:
Lem: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17

There is indeed a goblin ambush. The very well hidden goblins (DC27) have the jump on you!

First one flips the table and all the alchemical supplies fall on the floor creating a small explosion.

Seelah, Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Seelha manages to jump out of the way to evade most of the damage, but still takes half of damage: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 6) = 15

Then the one to the North throws a small bag towards Seelah.
To Hit: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
The bag hits and Seelah is covered in a sticky substance.
Seelah, Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
She is entangled and stuck to the floor!

The last goblin tries to stab the brave warrioress with his small shortsword.

To Hit: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 7 + 2 = 20 Hits!
Damage: 1d4 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 1 + (6) = 8

Hate to say it, but because I lost my connection to Iomedae, I also lose a lot of saves (since I get CHA to everything). I'll update my character writeup to reflect that. It wouldn't have mattered anyway, I think, just being honest.

"GRAAH, Iomedae damn you little buggers!"

Attack roll on Purply, with Power Attack: 1d20 + 9 + 2 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 9 + 2 - 2 - 2 = 141d8 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

Normal attack of +9, Power Attack and Heroism cancel each other out, entangled for another -2. See, I do learn! Also, I prefer to write each thing out separately, to see if I missed anything.
