Lord (and if rumour is true, soon to be Venture Captain) Vrald Sehir of Taldor strides into the lounge area. His voice, in very correctly pronounced Taldane echoes around the room.

"The following pathfinders are called to urgently attend Aram Zey. Make haste, he has little time for dawdlers."

Looking down at the scroll in front of him he calls each name, once and once only.
"Igor of Caliphas; Durlo Deadshield; Robyyn; Kett; Kenza Bloodborn; Hoprah." he pauses for a moment and then adds "Marjim Marc Arafiles.. odd sort of a name if you ask me."

Classic run of Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment awaits you. There are seven of you, so if someone doesn't turn up, that makes life easier for me :-)

A wisp of smoke floats into the room from the lustily roaring fireplace and dances among the rafters observing the room for a few moments before gently floating down to the middle of the common room to take the darkly shadowed shape of a humanoid with blazing eyes of fire.
It's voice echoes through the room, its deep timbre almost vibrating the plates and glasses.

"Pirates! Lost Treasure! Murky and dank jungles crawling with all manner of creatures and cascading rivers full of gods only know what!!" the voice calls out. "All this and much more shall be found if you follow me! The pirate Black Marquis of Deadbridge has requested our assistance in locating some booty and his wayward pirates in exchange for an ancient lost text. Follow me if you think you have what it takes to brave such a trial!"
With this final declaration, the fiery apparition strides through the crowd and, for once, exits the tap room normally.

A stodgy pahmet dwarf rumbles into the tavern holding a worn scroll. He unfurls the parchment, frowns at the list of names, and then bellows out, "The following Pathfinders got their passage paid for to Sothis for an urgent mission: Umbrata Shawart, Nadric Yarrow, Malusha, Dart, and Hemmings Halfshanks. Get yer gear and head to the docks!"

A stout dwarf with a well groomed brown beard and clean shaven beard enters the lodge before unfurling a scroll. "Agents of the Flaxseed Lodge! My mistress, the Marquess in Mithral, the Duchess of Destruction, the Baroness of Brutality, Kala Foerender requests your assistance at the Twisting Garden lodge! The mission briefing begins soon, so make haste!" Refurling the scroll, Bahb grabs a small illuminated page before carefully tacking it to the cork-board.

A yeti walks into the bar.

"Here ye, here ye!", he cries. "We need some good folk that are solid and trustworthy to there very CORE!! Come, join these fine volunteers," pointing to the barbarian and bard that stand holding a list on parchment containing only 2 names, but 3 more blank lines. "You, too, can make history, and earn a paycheck while doing so!"

At the top of the parchment, it reads:

When four statues of unspeakable power were found in a tomb in Osirion and then stolen, the Pathfinder Society assumed they were gone forever. When they appeared again in the illicit inventory of a Qadiran smuggler in the massive trade city of Sedeq, the Society wasted little time dispatching you there to recover them. Finding the smuggler dead and a familiar face from Absalom responsible, your task quickly becomes a race to retrieve the statues before their brutal power can be unleashed on the citizens of the Satrap. Can you find the statues in time or will Sedeq be swallowed in a plague like none Golarion has ever seen?

A halfling astride a wolf comes into the lodge and is somewhat taken aback to see a yeti. However, he seems to have a wayfinder and is recruiting, so the halfling waits his turn.

Once the yeti steps away from the announcement area, the halfling calls out, "Ladies and gentlemen, children of all ages, you are now in the presence of ... The Great ... Rrrrrrrrinaldoooooo!!!!!!"

After waiting for the applause (which apparently only he can hear) to die down, he continues. "Venture Captan Norden Balantir is looking for experienced agents who can meet him in the Sothis Lodge as quickly as possible. If you are available, please see me for details! Thank you, and good night!"

Everwar signups are full. I am waiting on confirmation from the person who originally requested it; if they drop, the alternate will get called up.

Hi, Shaly! Keep an eye on the recruitment thread here and when a game your interested in comes up just sign up. Most GM's here hold slots open for newcomers.

You might also want to set up your profile like the template on mine (it's pretty standard around here.)

Probably not necessary, but I slapped some roleplay into this to better suit the Gameplay thread. Shaly, the important parts are those in blue, feel free to skip the rest.

Visible only to the newcomer who has walked in, an entity appears. It is impossible to describe, at the same time a featureless, genderless humanoid and a writhing mass of random appendages. Clearly no being of this world, it is something from a higher tier of reality, that which pulls the strings of those here!

"New here? Well, you have already taken an important first step," its alien voice speaks to both the ears and mind. "You entered this Lodge, and as such, you will be notified when others come in and talk here. Should someone come here in search of volunteers for a mission, you can see, and enlist your pawns accordingly!"

Since you posted here, the Lodge will show up in your Campaigns tab, and as such you can see when new posts have been made here. You'll notice it shows links for Gameplay, Recruitment, and Discussion. The first is used for in-character chat and the like, and both it and Recruitment are used to show games being recruited for, though in the former is done in-character and the latter out-of-character. Discussion is used for general OOC talk about the Lodge and PFS in general. It is generally the best place to ask for help. But as I said above, I put this in Gameplay and put in some roleplay so you could find it better.

"Remember to keep your pawns well-organized and up to date, for better cohesiveness with the others in the world below. Their successes, failures, and various affairs affect us higher beings little, but the lower ones will benefit all the more from it!"

For PbP play, you'll want to put your character's information and statblock into their profile. In addition, you should put their more vital statistics (AC, HP, saves, expendables) into their header, which is the contents of the race, gender, and classes/levels sections of the profile. For example, your header reads "Female Human Cleric 3." The PFS characters on this page alone (the ones with green names, if you didn't know) are all good examples to be copied. Just click on their name or image and it'll take you to their page, which you can copy/paste to use as a template, swapping out their information for yours.

Under the box in which you type a post is a little box that reads "How to format your text." It shows you how to change what some of your text looks like, such as this blue OOC text. As an example, one would use this in a Gameplay thread to ask about a monster's attack or something. It also shows you how to roll dice and the like.

"The others here are always willing to help out a newcomer like yourself! You need only ask, as you already have." With that, the entity extricates itself from the newcomer's mind and reality around it, hoping it has not caused more confusion.

Edit: And then, despite its apparent omniscience, it got ninja'd.

"The hero of Taldor, his most excellent, wise and good-looking Drendle Drang calls upon the following Pathfinder agents to report in forthwith!"

The Taldane crossbowman clears his throat before calling out: "Yangrit Foehammer, Kayne, Wizbang Fizzlepott, Kirrote and Felix Pickleweed! We know you are hiding in here! Do not make me, Mathilda and the strength of character only a member of the Phalanx can bring to bear come on in there and flush you out!"

A medium build Ulfen, walks in to the Lodge and grabs a flagon off a waitresses serving tray, as she passes. Downing the entire contents in one drought, he tosses the receptacle over his shoulder, let's out a loud *belch*! and says, Listen up all ye sláprs! I'm mustering a few of ye to serve...So clean the wax out of your ears...and grab ur gear when er called!

With a snort an elderly half orc wakes up from underneath his paper. Will you two lovebirds keep the noise down and go get a room, some of us are trying to sleep here!

He drops the paper over his face again and returns to gentle snoring, muttering about young'uns nowadays got no respect for their elders and betters...

"You endless source of baudry tales, you mixed up everything AND somehow managed to mangle a well-known expression! It is as if the gods conspired to make manifest the epitome of mental deficiency!" blusters Aldebert.

As Adelbert finishes his sentence, the doors to the Lodge are suddenly shoved open, and in walks a goblin! He wears a pirate hat and a voluminous purple wizard's robe, looking as if he has just woken up. "Someone say my name?" Forlorn asks blearily, rubbing his eyes. "Musta been my i-magi-nayshun. Anyway, a VC needs some cannon fodder to help solve this weird maze. Don't get too excited, like I did, he said th' cannon was 'figurative' or something." Several flyers describing the mission float from his hand and affix themselves to a board, and he slouches out - hoping no one notices the drinks he spirited away.

Hope you're happy."

"Anyway...Vagantem! Rayquaza! Rgulbux! Kegdrainer! Thundering Bull! Dolamite! Find Drandle Dreng at once! Not sure where he is, so...good luck with that." The goblin makes his way to a chair, upon which he promptly collapses.

Hi VA Redelia. Warah here. Thanks for the welcome! I have no PFS experience in person either. But I live with two people who have been doing PbP for a while. They've been really helpful in getting me started.

A small, human girl enters the room. She is not quite 5' tall and has a frail frame. Pretty. But that is where the resemblance to a child vanishes. Her face is hard and her movements confident. She glances around the room, staring down anyone whose eyes lingered too long. "They tell me there's work here."

Iago raises his left eyebrow as he slowly walks past the other man. "No... Uh... Do I know you?"

Willem looks the man over, admiring his pride. "Well, even if you didn't, you do now. Ser Willem Targerion, Emissary for Her Ladyship Gloriana Morilla." He extends his hand to take Iago by the elbow for a warrior's handshake.

A Priest walks into the room. "It would seem the Dawnflower thinks I an insufficient by myself..."

42 sits back in the corner, as he sees these two look-a-likes marvel in their self-perceived good looks. Raising his hand to catch the attention of the barkeep, he orders another strong drink. Thinking to himself. The new Pathfinders do look like a strange group."

Marveling at the many of his apparent brethren, Ser Willem smiles. "It would appear that he did, for business, of course."

"Ah. I see. Well." Iago grabs a random tankard from the bar counter. "To our fathers. Whoever mine happens to be."

He looks into the pale brown surface, muttering "And to strong seed" before drinking, perhaps in an effort to avoid questions.

"Let us not forget our mothers. And least of all the mother of dawn, Sarenrae." admonishes the stern priest.

"Though it would indeed seem that we have in common an ancestor or two."

"Hi... I'm a new recruit here... know of any adventure I can take part in?"

No, I'm not new PFS. This character is, however.

A middle aged man comes strolling into the lounge, dressed in silken ceremonial armor and clutching an old, dusty spell tome to this chest the man looks around at all the potential recruits..

My my.. look at all the diverse and unique talent pool gathered..

New character, new to pbp. Love what Ive seen so far, looking to introduce myself!

Sitting back from his plate of spiced sausage and potatoes, a dwarf looks at the elf before speaking with a bit of food still in his mouth, "M sure you'll get called in soon. Wouldn't be the first time Drang, or some hot headed venture captain calls for new blood." Taking another bite of his meal, the beardless dwarf, covered in third degree burns, continues talking, spitting food every so often. "Also, I would suggest that if you meet with a Heidmarch, be prepared for anything. Her missions can get a little.... rough."
