    Dark Archive

Since Droghedor has a level of ranger, he may tries instead to heal Syrak with a wand... I'm waiting on an answer before resuming the battle.

I'm fine with that, and also AFK through tomorrow. We need to find a way to grab Syrak and retreat. We'll not survive long with our primary melee down.

Droghedor draws a wand and heals the badly injured paladin, saving him from a certain death!

Syrak goes for the nice approach instead while he tends to Falco's wounds.

"It's easy to be mislead by evil. Now we've got a job to do, and ya'll need to keep it together long enough to get out of Taldor. We're going to get this done though."

Syrak tries to bring back the blossoms to life but his words don't seem to move them. Maybe the shapeshifter's head still hanging from the paladin's claws don't help.

However, thanks to Dorvhan's soft words, most of the blossoms snap out of their state of shock, blinking several times. One of the blossoms who welcomed you here, a half-elven woman, clears her throat.

"We... We didn't expect... knew that... there was these... monsters. We are... Well... Thank you, may Sarenrae's glory shine on you and light your road."

After looking right and left, she grins timidly.

"Maybe... Maybe you should be on your way. We'll burn these cadavers and bid Sarenrae to be redeemed for our negligence." she says with a spark in the eye.

Anything else? I assume you'll heal fully on the way.

    Oh and I forgot...

Before you go, the cultists thank you once again and inform you that they are no longer safe here and that they will hire a ship this evening and flee the city.

    Mighty sense motive check DC10:

    SM Dorvhan: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
    SM Syrak: 1d20 ⇒ 12
    SM Falco: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
    SM Droghedor: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

Everyone but Droghedor noticed while talking to the cultist that Charito, one of the female human cult members, has gotten very nervous and seems to be hiding something. When you confront her, she breaks down in tears and falls to her knees, begging not to be killed. As you show her mercy I guess, she reluctantly confesses that she knows who Chalfon Dalsine is.

"I didn't mention anything until now because I was afraid the other Dawnflower Blossoms wouldn’t trust me! I knew nothing of the attack, I know him cause I worked as a chambermaid for... a woman who was having an affair with Chalfon last year! But I know very little about him. Only that he was the 'black sheep' of his family and that he only returned to Taldor a few years ago!"

She pauses, eyeing her fellow cultists, breathing heavily and sweating a lot. Suddenly, she seems to remember something as her eyes light up.
"Oh, yes! I know something that could be useful to you! I know where his manor home is located! It's in Senate’s Hill!" and she gives you detailed information on how to reach it.

As you start to head towards the manor, one cultist approaches you before you leave to give you a potion of cure moderate wounds, a potion of lesser restoration and an illuminated Kelish manuscript of key passages from Sarenrae’s most holy text, The Birth of Light and Truth.
"Accept this as a humble offer!"

    -------------------------

    Let's move forward.

As you push forward following the instructions Charito gave you, you easily go out from the catacombs and find your way in the streets of Oppara to arrive at the manor. The Dalsine Manor is a modern, two-story structure set back from the main road and surrounded by a twelve-foot brick wall. Its main gate is shut and guarded, but through it can be seen a well-kept garden surrounding the house. A carriage covered in gold filigree and inset with gems stands parked inside the gate, while another, constructed of modest wood with drawn shades, waits just outside the gate.

Just after you get there, a carriage arrives and two men dressed in a qadiran fashion get off to talk with the guards. The conversation escalades quickly and you sense that the four men are on the verge of violence, speaking very loudly.

What's your plan? You have to get in.

Two good diplomacy rolls in a row! Nice!

The four men seem to calm a little as the cleric steps forward. They look at the dwarf and the two qadiran men raise an eyebrow. Now that you're closer, you can see they are armed, and wear an armor beneath their clothes. They look at you with perplexity.

The guards don't loose their composure and bark "What? Who are you? State your business or leave at once!"

The qadirans ask you on a calmer tone "Goodly cleric? Of which God?"

Please everyone tell me how they act and roll a diplomacy, intimidate or bluff check related to your character's actions.

  • "I am a cleric of Desna. I know it's not common for a Dwarf, but the calling is the calling. Please, to be honest, we have discovered that there may be an imposter in the midst of the household. We'd like to go in and make sure everyone is safe. The disguise would be good enough to fool family methinks." I don't want to risk it. I'll take 10 for a 20. Dorvhan will gently move in.

The qadiran nod and stand back a little, however raising an eyebrow at Dorvhan's mention of an imposter inside the household.

The Dalsine guards looks at each other and mutter some words.

You have a bonus due to what you said but it's still not enough. Anyone wants to aid?
