Let's see, where shall we begin? Perhaps a consultation aided by arcane powers will point us in the right direction.
Now, where did I put that diviner's crystal? Ah, here it is. I hold it just so...make this gesture with my free hand...ipso, flotsam, jetsam...divinius exacto!
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 41 ⇒ (20) + 41 = 61
Well! We shall not argue with a Natural 20 outcome!
Aha! We shall begin this adventure at the Varisia Pathfinder Lodge at Heidmarch Manor in the city of Magnimar! As good a place as any I suppose, and I do like the ocean view and seafood.

The call has been sounded, and fearless adventurers are soon to arrive, visions of treasure and glory dancing in their heads.
Introductory material will soon be sent to those brave souls, and we shall soon meet at the Pathfinder Lodge in Magnimar, to meet Venture-Captain Sheila Heidmarch.

Excellent job, Cily! Welcome aboard!
Hmmm, let's see if others are approaching Magnimar. Gazing into my scrying focus...yes...yes...a paladin? Really! Aha, a wizard may also answer the call.
Who else appears to be making the journey...a ranger and a barbarian...a cleric of Serenrae. Well, that is unexpected! Well, this will be a most diverse and interesting group, if they are all accepted into the Pathfinder Lodge.

Our adventure begins in Magnimar, known as "The City of Monuments." Magnimar is a large city located on the southwestern coast of Varisia where the Yondabakari River empties into the Varisian Gulf. The city is surrounded by the mostly inhospitable Mushfens.
The city itself is defined by two colossal landmarks which predate modern civilization by thousands of years or more. The Irespan is an ancient Thassilonian ruin, the easternmost end of a giant bridge which has now crumbled into the sea. This enormous relic stretches from Magnimar's other most noticeable feature, the three-hundred-foot tall cliff which cuts the city in two known as the Seacleft.
Each of you travel to Magnimar, attracted by the invitation announcement of Venture-Captain Shiela Heidmarch to find employment at The Pathfinder Lodge. The announcement says to speak with Ebrylis upon arrival in order to find accomodations and await further instructions.

It is not difficult to find Heidmarch Manor. The building is a prominent landmark in the northern section of Magnimar.
Approaching the manor, you notice the grounds are surrounded by a 10-foot high stone wall, with an entrance guarded by two heavy wrought-iron gates. Through the gates you can see a large, two-story mansion dominates the campus, and several smaller buildings occupy the grounds.
A tall, thin man with elvin features stands in front of the gates. He observes you with interest as you approach the entrance. Dressed in a dark blue uniform, he casually places one hand upon the hilt of a rapier on his hip as you approach.
May I help you, he asks?

Bohyi Fartracker |

A short, stocky bald dwarf approaches and stands next to Illindir. A large double bladed axe is strapped to his back. His scale mail has many cuts and dried blood and other substances on it. He squints in the light and winces as he speaks.
"Bohyi Fartracker does need some help at the moment. Do you have something for a headache?" "On a side note, I too am here to see what the job Shiela had open for a skull crushing, Grog drinking, axe wielding Dwarf."

The thin man greets you:

Ebrylis looks at Ilindir.
To All: I see a few more are approaching the manor. We might as well get started on getting you registered before the others arrive.
Ebrylis opens one of the wrought-iron gates and enters the compound. He enters a small building which sits beside the entranceway, and reappears in a moment with a leather-bound ledger book. He begins recording information in the book, muttering his entries out loud.
So...we have Ilindir ... Bohyi ... and Girdark. Let me take a look at you. You all seem to be well-equipped. Lady Heidmarch will determine whether you require additional goods or services, depending on the tasks she chooses to assign you.
A word to the wise...I might advise you gentlemen to address her as Lady Heidmarch, or My Lady, and not assume such familiarity that you can address her by first name only.

Ebrylis motions for Henric to join the group inside the gate.
To Henric: Well met, Henric. I am Ebrylis, welcome to Heidmarch Manor. You seem to have...an aura about you. I am impressed that a member of a faith would heed Lady Heidmarch's call for assistance.

Ilindir Silvénan |

For a moment, Ilindir looks a touch confused by Girdark’s words, and then realization dawns. “Yellow... that is to say cowardly? No, I should think not. We cannot afford to suffer cowards in the Mierani Forest.” He manages a bit of a smile. “Rather, I am relieved because it would be a lonely road without companions.” Still smiling, he looks to Ebrylis and replies:

Henric Tobbar |

Master Ebrylis, I am glad to receive such a warm welcome despite my late arrival.
Sense Motive 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
I am new to the Pathfinder world, but I see no reason to deny Lady Heidmarch's request for assistance. May I be so bold as to ask...what types of service may a follower of Iomedae provide?

![]() |

Ebrylis: Henric, the Pathfinders need capable and courageous people with all types of skills and talents. We seek to discover and preserve the knowledge of the ancients, and many times such knowledge is kept in dangerous places. Lady Heidmarch will provide more information when she meets with you, but certainly one with a strong arm and a devotion to healing and thwarting the evil in this world will find no shortage of opportunities to use those talents.

Cily Tosscobble |

Approaching the gates to the grounds, I look around.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
There is a man at the gate. I curtsy, then take Sheila Heidmarch's employment notice out of my pocket and show it to him.
Good day to you, Sir! I am Cily Tosscobble, at your service! I am responding to this notice hoping to find employment as a Pathfinder.

Ebrylis notices a halfling lass skipping down the road, her red hair bouncing up and down with each step.
To Cily: Good day to you, as well, Cily. I am Ebrylis, the person mentioned in the employment notice. Please join us inside the gates.
Ebrylis makes another entry in his ledger, muttering out loud: Cily...Tosscobble.

Henric Tobbar |

Re: Familial relations: In fact I am related to the Tobbars of Sandpoint. I shall assume you are referring to my cousin Andrezi. He runs a trading company, working mostly out of the Velashu Uplands. My family moved from Sandpoint to Nybor when I was young. Needless to say, I had a lot of time on my hands when growing up... But I digress. Please, don't let me hold you from your duties.

Ophelia Swiftblade |

Bringing up the rear of the motley crew of travelers is a tall human female dressed in cleric's robes and bearing the symbol of Sarenrae. She approaches Ebrylis, politely making her way to the front of the group.
"Blessed day to you, sir. I am Ophelia Swiftblade of the Order of Sarenrae. I have come in response to the notice that Lady Heidmarch seeks new members to join the Pathfinders. I am gifted in the healing arts and a fair hand at swordplay, and was hopeful that Her Ladyship would find use for my talents."

When Ophelia makes her introduction, Ebrylis' normally placid demeanor breaks into a smile as he notices the Holy Symbol of Serenrae.
To Ophelia: You are welcome indeed, Ophelia. The healing arts are always treasured within our ranks.
Ebrylis makes another entry in his ledger book: Ophelia...Swiftblade.
Ebrylis closes the ledger and looks at Henric and Ophelia with a look of satisfaction.
We are well pleased that representatives of Iomedae, "The Sword-Mistress", and Serenrae, "The Dawnflower", are willing to serve the Pathfinders.

Ophelia Swiftblade |

Ophelia smiles at Ilindir and inclines her head.
"A pleasure to make your acquaintance, sir. As it looks as though we'll all soon be traveling companions, a quick introduction all 'round seems like a good place to start."
She repeats her name and title for the benefit of the group and looks around at the others, taking in the visual of the varied group of travelers.
"We appear to be quite the diverse party. I am quite sure each of us has something special and unique to contribute that will help us to serve Lady Heidmarch's needs well. I look forward to getting to know you all better."
