Despite the people blocking his line of sight, it's still pretty hard for Jean to miss the glowing red mass in the window.

I got ya covered Jean. Coco says as he puts herself in a position to protect him without obstructing his view for a clear shot.

after hearing Bruce's berating, great friend ya got there Jean, I already like him. she says with a smirk.

Coco seems to be armed with nothing but some sort of hand wrappings. her fists ready to take on these oozes.

Magma, I knew it! I mean, I know I'm hot, but this is a little ridiculous.

Fire resistance is pretty useful right about now.

The partially I.D'ed Magma Oozes drag themselves through the bullets and blasts of the party, seething with a single-minded determination. But this could be their undoing, as the one occupying the window falls into Coco's trap! Coco's attack is triggered by the Ooze approaching from the window. If you'd like to ready an action in the future, you can make the necessary rolls ahead of time. It would help save time.

Mindos moves towards the ooze (the one that started near the window), untying a small bag from around his belt. He throws it at the ooze, and it bursts apart, spraying sticky tar all over the creature.

If that makes it, the ooze gets a -2 penalty to attack rolls, and a -4 Dex penalty. It must make a DC 15 reflex save or be unable to move. Even if it succeeds, it moves at ½ speed.

Ref: 1d20 - 5 ⇒ (6) - 5 = 1 Nope. turns out, an ability score can't be penalized past 1. As for the CMB check to maintain it's grapple, the Ooze can only make that check on it's actual turn, so I'll wait on that. Need actions from Abel and Gwynn.

Gwynn reloads her pistol but doesn’t fire. She quick runs alongside Seraphina, reaching inside her implement pouch and pulling out a nicked steel coin, tapping it to Seraphina’s shoulder, Casting ablative barrier on her.

I've rolled the fort saves for Seraphina, Abel and Gwynn. Abel takes 1 non-lethal damage from the smoke. Everyone else who isn't named Mindos passed.

Between the surprisingly large and profuse wound Coco dealt the Magma Ooze, and the focus fire of the rest of the party (The kobold too I guess) the Ooze on floor two rapidly cools and somewhat shrinks, ceasing it's movement. Coco's grapple ends with the death of the ooze.

Bruce stands up and drags the device he'd spent the last round fiddling with under his shoulder. There looks to be some kind of piston pressed against him while he takes aim.
"Oi, ya need somethin' done..." *high-pitch cough*
The vial he added to the weapon flashes brightly when the cannon-like gun fires, nearly pushing it's kobold user on his tail. The bluish white blast lances out and freezes over the ooze and Coco's arm.
Weapon of questionable integrity: 1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 8 - 4 = 19
Cold Dam: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 +50% =17 cold damage. Bruce is moved back 5 ft. To clarify, Coco does not take damage from this.

Seraphina raises her shield to defend against the assault of the molten thing. Unfortunately the sheer weight of it can be easy to misjudge, and it just barely pushes through her bulwark. The firedancer learns all too well how strong the pull of the ooze is. It happens to have a consistency between molasses and quicksand, with the worst smells of both.
Ooze Slam: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27
Dam: 1d10 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 172d6 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5 5 non-lethal damage, 12 bludgeoning, 0 total fire after resistance.
Grabble: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (9) + 19 = 28

Abel slips into something a little more durable. As a note for the future, Crane Style only functions while the user fights defensively, or in total defense. Those actions can only be taken when attacking, so Crane Style didn't actually do anything yet.

Don't you have an ability to prevent AoO's from triggering if you heal someone like yourself? Lay on Hands also doesn't trigger AoO's. Or even force a spellcaster check from the grapple for that matter.

His gun came up and he tried to put another round in this one.

Seraphina struggles against the pull of the burning mass, buying herself some much needed time with her healing powers.

Coco's gives the ooze a long-range superman punch, her fist lands squarely in its cresting form as it attempts to engulf Serphina's shield arm.

"Oi, apologies princess. Dunno where we'd find something ta warm ya up with." Bruce digs into his clothing before retrieving another black vial and swapping it with the spent one. He looks at the open window and decides against his chances with gravity, moving over to the rear of the PC's. He tries and fails to lift the ammo box mentioned earlier with his remaining hand. It comes up to his waist. "Uh, little help with this?"

Mindos begins to play a bit of defense himself, but the smoke continues to enter his lungs with every remaining breath. The ammunition box is remarkably weighty. And cold for it's environment.
Non-lethal smoke: 1d6 ⇒ 4 Mindos takes 4 damage from smoke. While he carries the box, he's under heavy encumberence.

Gwynn fires a round into her target as the party begins to dogpile in the doorway. She gets her first real glimpse of the newcomer Coco, slamming her bare fist into the live molten rock.

Abel channels his inner strength outward, and more peaceful blast-like. The attack swings wide to pass Coco, but still impacts a large section of his targets body.

Seraphina feels the searing grip around her weaken and fall away. The weight of the creature is still there, but lifeless. As lava should be one would think.

Memory does serve Jean right, but combats over same round anyway. As it turns out an AC of 4 is remarkably hittable.

Pulling herself free, Seraphina ran after the others. While trying to arrange her skirts to a more modest degree.

"Can we all get out of here now?" Jean said, holstering his sidearm and pushing through the crowd. He carefully skirted the puddle of molten matter and heading for the front door as fast as he could.

*Cough* Move out of the way! I'm dying in here! Mindos drops the box and runs out the door. He tears off the mask, before collapsing into a coughing fit on the sidewalk outside. Stupid...*cough*...mask...*cough*...didn't even help one bit.

Gwynn was breathing heavily, wiping her forehead with her arm, saying, ”Does anybody have a dry towel or washcloth?” She asked, whipping her hand to the floor, coughing.


Amidst the chaos of smoke rolling across the ceiling and fire the party makes a hasty escape with the recently awoken Bruce in tow. What remains of the fire-starter is a gooey mess needing to be jumped over or exceedingly carefully navigated. It still sears through the The walls are blackened and peeling, much of it revealing the support beams which themselves are charred already. What I'm getting at is that this house is on fire people.

One by one, and not exactly taking turns, they pour out of the building. Bruce inhales sharply as Mindos drops the box in his rush. He secures the veritable cannon he has on his back and starts to drag the box himself outside to a distance he's satisfied with. Or maybe he's just too tired to bring it any further.

Seraphina emerges with both her life and modesty intact for the most part, though the clothes themselves are singed halfway to the knees. Despite all expectations, her wooden shield emerges entirely unharmed.

The same can't be said for Coco's cestus, or anything else that was on that arm short of tattoos.

"Will this do?" Bishop holds out a clean red silk handkerchief at Gwynns request. His eyes examine the two good samaritans who emerged with his charges. It would seem he isn't the only person who's gotten closer to the fire. The other engine arrives, this one armed with more than a hose. It also hosts a worker with a uniform reading "smoke jumper" who is readying an incantation. Morganna is speaking to the firefighter the party interacted with before.

"Greetings. Your help is appreciated by House Ainsworth. I imagine by our associate Mr. Celo as well. I am Bishop, Chamberlain to House Ainsworth. And you are?" He does not extend his hand, instead offering a polite bow. The man addresses Coco and Jean in particular. He stands at a modest height with clean-shaven, even facial features giving a professional image combined with short-cut blonde hair and a well-tailored plain black suit. He appears fairly young to possess a title like his.

With deliberate motions, Jean pulls down his breathing mask, draws out a cigar case from his vest, selects a cheroot, and lights up. He loomed over Bishop and, to no one's surprise, did not seem to like him. A literal saint could have descended from the heavens to thank Jean and the man still would have disapproved of the showy halo.

"What've you nobs got Bruce tangled up in now?" He said in a cloud of strangely scented cigar smoke. "Buggers like those slimes don't just show up in population centers. Too destructive, they would have cut a line through the city."

Bishop waves his own handkerchief to keep the cigar smoke out of his face, and judging by his cough, is unsuccessful.

"Indeed. I would have hoped that if Mr. Celo found such a slime as you call it, he would have told us immediately. I suspect foul play as well."

He responds to Coco’s offer without a second thought. ”That is not for me to say. Though, I would like you and Jean to speak with Lady Morgana Ainsworth regardless.”

“Fire is a troublesome thing, I have no love for it myself.” He adds idly.

The other onlookers disperse somewhat, and the smoke jumper’s incantation completes. The resulting force of water is a torrent equivalent to the hose already in use. Morgana makes her way towards the Celo family now that they’ve collected together a few yards away from the building. Bruce, Cindy, and the woman as of yet without a known name are huddled together in a tight group.

”S’alright, kiddo, I’m all right. Your cough’ll go away.”

Jean accepted the drink Coco offered him with a stubborn grunt that could almost be interpreted as thanks. Considering that it was more than he had paid almost anyone else so far, it had to be an indication of his relative comfort around Coco.

”Feckin’ nobs,” Jean muttered, releasing another cloud of cigar smoke as he did so before smartly turning on his heel and heading over to where Bruce and his family were gathered, riding out the last of the fear together. Coco was better with people, she could talk to the other Good Samaritans.

He brushed passed Morgana as she made her stately way over to the Celos with the practiced stride of a man used to outpacing superior officers and making sure the rank and file were presentable. He flatly ignored her, but given the temperment he had thus far displayed that might have been done in the name of diplomacy as opposed to insult. He took a moment to try and push the storm clouds from his face, though the effect was mixed at best. Looking perhaps as kind and gentle as he was ever capable of, he crouched next to the family.

”Bruce, Miss Cindy, Ma’am,” Jean started, tugging on a forelock in lieu of a hat, ”You three have somewhere to stay? It’s not much but I can let you take over my apartment until something more permanent is arranged.”

Could I get a little rundown of what Jean would know if Bruce’s family?
