Abashiri is a more successful story. A nation founded on a string of islands that lay to the northeastern end of Calweld. Known in part for an outdated system of worship that considers their emperor a direct agent of the gods, as well as a wide variety of supernatural creatures. Their architecture does indeed stand out in comparison to most other nations.
A small amount of time passes. The assembled group finishes their dances and food alike. Between Kal, Mindos and Gwynn, the Roarin' 20 is deftly vanquished, removing the most expensive item (By far at that) from the bill. Morganna pats her mouth with her table napkin, and addresses the party.
"Now then, I have a question for you all. Who would like to have their fortune told by Mama Graymand?" She gets up and Kal pays the bill as almost an afterthought, making his own way out beside her.
The day is still young and bright. The entrance to "Mama Graymands House of Fates" is just barely visible down the other end of Castle Road.

Seraphina Firedancer |

"A fortune teller? Sounds fun. Never had my fortune read before."
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Rolling her eyes a little, Serephina left a small tip too.

![]() |

The paladin's eyebrows rise surprised, he didn't expect Morganna to visit fortunetellers.
As he stands up, Azrael says"I would like to, it's been a while since the last time I did." continuing, in case if anybody seems surprised that the religious man is willing "Divinations and soothsaying are the oldest forms of magic, and one of the ways the Lord uses to comunicate with his servants."

Mindos Rakhir |

perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Mindos also leaves a tip, and hurries out the door to catch the rest of the group. He hears Azraels remark on fortune telling. How the Lord communicates, you say? That could be useful.
A fortune teller? Nifty. I'll do it.

GM Smashomancer |

"Very good. I would hope that the name Graymand sounds familiar, yes?"
Morganna leads the group with Bishop and Kal on either side. The building is unassuming, one of the smallest on the block in fact. Brick structure covered in purple signs denoting useful and very convincing information of what may be within:
*Clairvoyant readings!*
*100% licensed for Divination!*
*Psychic knowledge!*
*Free lollipop with each purchase!*
Upon entry it becomes immediately clear that there isn't enough room for eight people. On the inside of the establishment is a woman sitting at a reception desk and exactly two chairs on the other side of the room roughly ten feet away. Only a couple of more feet to the right of those seats is a cloth drape obscuring the way to the next room.
There's a small basket filled with lollipops on the desk next to a sign-in ledger.
"Ah hello. Are you the 10:00 reservation? Whoever is here to see madam Graymand please have a seat."
You guys might want to update your headers. I am fairly sure Azrael has HP now.

Seraphina Firedancer |

Taking a lolipop (they were free) Seraphina did as she was asked. Getting off her feet after all the dancing was good. She wasn't sure how convinced she was by the billboard, but if they demanded money for the candy she'd know it wasn't all true, atleast.

Gwynn Cleary |

perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Gwynn looked down to Kek'Ra, C'mon birdie, you can do it, She said, goading him along his train of thought as best as she knew how.
I'd enjoy having my fortune told, Gwynn said, having more than dabbled in the occult herself. I have a few questions in mind, myself, She said, looking to her Tengu friend.
Entering the building, Gwynn takes a lollipop for herself, then three more for her pockets.

Mindos Rakhir |

Mindos looks at the sign before going inside. 100% licensed? That makes no sense. You can't be 66% licensed, can you? He grumbles and takes a lollipop, then goes and sits down.

Seraphina Firedancer |

"You can be zero percent licenced," Serephina suggested after a moments thought. "I suppose 100% is better than 0%." After another moment, she added, "Are there licences for this kinda thing?"

You didn't tell me the part in Seraphina's backstory where she walked under ladders to smash mirrors while also observing a black cat migration.
Because that was Azrael's backstory. Also, I will go first.
The paladin steps forward saying to the others "If you don't mind..." before taking the seat.
He turns his attention towards the seer, putting both hands over the table with the palms up. "Thanks for having us, Madame Graymand." he says, a bit nervous "Shall I... Do anything?"

GM Smashomancer |

Azrael heads past the reception desk, with a squeeze past Gywnn and Seraphina. Opening the pale lavender drape over the door he finds that a short dimly lit hallway greets him. The air hangs heavy with faintly scented smoke as he opens another drape of a deep red color.
"You seem quite nervous Paladin. What is it you expect to hear?"

Mindos Rakhir |

Well, if the sign is telling the truth, these guys are probably really good. Of course, if it isn't telling the truth... Mindos continues sucking on his lollipop thoughtfully.

GM Smashomancer |

The air in the front room is fairly cool given the warmth of the day. Morganna stands just outside the door after signing the ledger on the desk, flanked by Bishop and Kal.
"I suppose this will be worth mentioning; Our next few stops today will involve visiting other houses of nobility. There I expect we will find others hired similarly to yourselves. It may be worth attempting to interact with them." The receptionist doesn't give any indication of listening in, simply reading a novel while several people attempt to make room for themselves in the 4x7 space available inside.

Seraphina Firedancer |

Looking down at her feet, Serephina considered. "Don't suppose we have time to change first?"

![]() |

"How did you know..." was about to ask Azrael before realising how foolish was the question.
The paladin thought for a while, trying to understand what troubled his mind, before simply speaking from the heart.
"I am afraid to hear that I won't be able to save them, again. That I will fail because I am not capable enough... But what I am afraid the most is what I don't expect, The Old Lord hasn't shown me the way... And I don't even know if there is one."

GM Smashomancer |

"Presentable in common circles perhaps. Rest assured you will find something quite to your liking before we head out for the next stop."

Seraphina Firedancer |

"Both my feet are quite nice," Seraphina considered, "But some better clothes and accessories might not go amiss."

![]() |

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Azrael remains silent, eager to remain listening to the seer.

GM Smashomancer |

"Hmm... The truth that hides in front of us is the hardest to see. Overthinking and over-analyzing separate the body from the mind." A deeply raspy chuckle escapes Graymand and is followed by several more minutes of silence.
"You can rest assured the others waiting in that room are in no immediate danger. The fates rarely account for the brazenly stupid though. I wouldn't get carried away if I were them." She waves Azrael through the door.
"I believe the Ladys point lies in the direction of impressions. Putting your best foot forward and all that good business? It does work, you know." Kal jumps into the conversation.

Seraphina Firedancer |

"Wouldn't do to have the Lady's guards look like ragamuffins," Seraphina agreed. "We'll go get pretty after this. Well...as pretty as we can get and keep our gear, I assume?" Maybe she could wax her shield...

![]() |

Sorry Smasho, been unable to post. Before I do, though, is she waving me outside because we are finished or inside and I pictured our positions weong? If it's the former feel free to continue before I post because Azrael only wants to thank her. If it is the latter I'll post as soon as I know it

GM Smashomancer |

"Seat yourself detective. Tell me. What is it you expect to hear?"

Mindos Rakhir |

Mindos Rakhir |

GM Smashomancer |

Kal turns to see Azrael with a nod on his way out. "She didn't take your soul did she?" Morganna lets out a huff almost in response.

Mindos Rakhir |

GM Smashomancer |

"Your truth lies in realms I dare not tread. I have traversed planes of ethereal and shade. Yet the consequences of your endeavor may prove more than lethal." Mz. Graymand waves Mindos out of the room.
Mindos leaves and the receptionist repeats herself.
"Who would like to be next?"

Seraphina Firedancer |

Serephina raised an eyebrow. That...didn't sound great. Maybe it was better she hadn't gone too soon.

GM Smashomancer |

"Did she happen to mention anything about drills?" Morganna adds to the questions.
"Drifter, have a seat. Tell me. What is it you expect to hear today?"

Abel The Wanderer |

Abel walks in and takes a seat, folding his hands together, I am unsure, i suppose i expect to hear about what i was told by Soriel and his wisps He recites a line from memory as if having been repeating it over and over Those Damned in a land of fire and smoke..
