Seraphina Firedancer |
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Understanding what the lady was talking about, even if not why she was talking about it so obsessively, Seraphina kept stum.
Abel The Wanderer |
i believe it is the duty of those with strength and wisdom to direct those in need and those lost even if they do not know they are lost.
GM Smashomancer |
Graymands head turns towards the orb on the table between them as it starts glowing a pale green, seemingly autonomously.
"Ahhh. You have most certainly chosen the right path for these desires. Best not to cast oneself out too far into the ocean. You may not find the coast again." The seer waves Abel out of the room.
Abel reappears from his conference as well.
Gwynn Cleary |
sense motives: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Gwynn watches Morganna for a bit as she pondered the fixation she had on drills, remembering the Graymands. She then turned to Abel.
Is she looking for the next up? She asked. If so... I'm not ready, but... well, I'm ready as I'll ever be.
GM Smashomancer |
"Hello thief. Sit." When your friend breaks from his concentration.
"She... that's the other one... the one that got those people to build drills at the root-font. She contacted me while I was in..." His eyes widen.
Everything seems pretty quiet for the moment. Perhaps these fine new folks outside the door are here for the lollipops?
Gwynn Cleary |
sense motive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Gwynn watched at all the various items and slowly got the picture, swallowing and looking to the old woman, who to her surprise, wasn't looking to her, but to Kek'ra, then she remembered an early conversation with the Tengu.
She was quiet, watching their exchanges, the atmosphere tense. She wasn't quite sure whether or not she should sit, as well. She held her hands behind her back and flicked her gaze between the two.
GM Smashomancer |
"Sit. I won't tell you a third time."
The new arrivals outside the building stop to exchange greetings with Morganna and Kal, Bishop steps aside to allow them to pass. The young man speaking politely to Morganna is also flanked by two men. One half-orc, and a human. Each as well dressed as they are towering.
Seraphina Firedancer |
Seraphina was quite tall, and so the impressive stature wasn't quite so intimidating. She watched them in bemuement was they chatted with the boss.
GM Smashomancer |
"Oh Madam Ainsworth, I had no idea you were interested in fortune telling."
"Strictly a business venture I assure you. And there's no need for the word 'Madam' young Alton."
Knowledge Local or Nobility could net you some information about the other guests.
Seraphina Firedancer |
Seraphina tried to remember what she knew about the name of Alton.
Knowledge(Local): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Gwynn Cleary |
Well... To begin with, I died. That might have had something to do with it. But I'm back now, mostly better, which I didn't know was a thing. Yes, that might have a lot to do with it. Gwynn said, I'll be honest, I'm still bereft of most of my answers on that front,
GM Smashomancer |
1d100 ⇒ 53
The blonde-haired young man is barely out of his teenage years by the look of him.
"Well, this is wonderful! I wanted to wish you luck before the festival Madam, so... Good luck! You'll really need it."
"Watch your choice of words, child."
The two bodyguards behind him exchange brief glances before he continues. The human man keeps a well-trimmed mustache, while the Half-orc is clean shaven. They keep their hands clasped in front of them as they stand entirely still.
"Of course! Of course. Far be it from me to risk insulting the great Ainsworths. I do wonder though, are you nearly finished here? It is quite sweltering outside today, you see." He looks over to the party inside the small foyer before asking a question directed at them.
"Are they going to make room for their betters, or not?"
Kal looks uncomfortable with the tension of the situation.
Morganna seems unperturbed, waiting to see how her employee's respond perhaps?
Bishop furrows his brow in anger, if only briefly before shifting his gaze to the two, unnamed bodyguards. At this point it becomes clear the three of them are using not just similar, but identical stances.
"I will give you a chance to rectify this. This is a list of reagents and catalysts I will need." Graymand opens a compartment under one of the shelves, and certainly enough, produces a folded paper with a list of ingredients printed clearly on a typewriter.
Spellcraft can identify the purpose of the ingredients.
Abel The Wanderer |
no man or woman is any better than other. Important to remember that, the universe has a habit of smacking down those who fly to close to the sun distracted and spacing out
Seraphina Firedancer |
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Serephina kept watching, mostly to see if there was going to be violence.
Mindos Rakhir |
Oh joy, he's one of those...
perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Mindos rolls his eyes and sighs. He's encountered arrogant nobles before, but none this...direct. He notes his employees behavior and proceeds to stand firm.
GM Smashomancer |
The human guard makes room-quite a bit of it in fact-for Bishop as he moves past the man to the outside of the building.
"Well? Are any of your other servants going to make way?"
"Doubtful."
"Excuse me?"
"The others operate under a certain degree of autonomy, I'm afraid. Rest assured young Connor we will be finished with our visit soon with all the information we need."
The young blue-blood is visibly irritated by what he see's as open disrespect. Kal straightens up at the reassurance he sees. He moves in his more usual confident stride and stops to speak to Connor Alton.
"Gracious are those who would suffer for another; Forever betrothed to their humility." And moves on with dignity past the bodyguards standing next to Bishop outside.
Can I get a Knowledge: Religion check from those qualified? Including Azrael if we still have his attention?
Mindos Rakhir |
Meant to say employers', not employees. Sorry!
Knowledge Religion: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Mindos chuckles inwardly at the frustration shown on the nobleman's face.
He leans against the wall, and grabs a lollipop, waiting to see how Alton would react.
GM Smashomancer |
Bishop glances in Kals direction while he looks upwards to the sky.
Speaking of, he looks to Gwynn still wide-eyed. ”What uhh, what does it say?”
Gwynn Cleary |
Gwynn looks to Ke'Kra and tries to look for the right words to say, floundering on it a bit before she said, It's for a ritual, She said, trying to get it through in her tone that it was something she had to explain later.
She turned to the lady, I am to bring these things to you? She asked, Or... She began, leaving hanging what was going to end, else what? before she decided that maybe that wasn't a question she wanted to ask right now.
Mindos Rakhir |
That's not what I imagined Kal's values to be. I suppose he has ties to the Kalmistrians. Or maybe he's one himself.
Mindos looks around, bored with waiting, but not willing to move over for Alton. He turns over to the others. So... read any good books lately?
GM Smashomancer |
Anyone else want to do anything before moving on outside?
Abel The Wanderer |
Only my training scrolls from Lord Soriel, They're dreadfully boring i'm afraid. Most of my Library is back at The monastery unfortunately
Gwynn Cleary |
Gwynn swallowed uncomfortably, looking from Kek-ra to Graymand and then nodding, not doubting that she would be able to fulfill her end of the deal.
She stayed quiet, not wanting to give her the satisfaction of a struggle, Will that be all, then? She asked, letting her bitterness show through her voice.
GM Smashomancer |
"Hmph." Connor scoffs at the sight of yet another person emerging into the room. There really is nowhere to comfortably stand at this point. His eyes move between Mindos and Abel before seeming to partially take the hint and stepping outside for a moment.
It would appear that Seraphina has an opportunity to take her turn with the fortune teller. Things seem to be getting tense out here at the moment, but yet, drama gets the radio ratings sky high more than, say, the weather, for a reason.
Seraphina Firedancer |
"Are you guys OK with me heading in? If a fight breaks out I'll head out again." She was curious to see what they had to say, but not curious enough to abandon the others.
Seraphina Firedancer |
Seraphina nodded and rose, smoothing her skirt nervously before heading inside. "Hello?" she called out nervously.
GM Smashomancer |
"Have a seat, shaman. Tell me. What is it you expect to hear?"
Perception please.
Seraphina Firedancer |
GM Smashomancer |
Abel and Azrael feel an abnormal chill in the air. Alton outside seems to shiver almost in unison with the effect.
Seraphina Firedancer |
"Does it normally do that?"
GM Smashomancer |
“But first..." Mz. Graymand seems to weigh the next thing she says in her head. "Take this knowledge with you to the others. Free of charge. Fire can possess many meanings: Passion, hatred... hunger. Each all-consuming until they are snuffed. Do you fear the flame? To answer this you must first know if it is indeed a thing of terror.”
Seraphina Firedancer |
Seraphina Firedancer |
Heading back out, she nodded to the others. "All done! Did anything exciting happen while I was gone?"
