On the upside, I've been running low on monitor lizard extract, on the downside it smells awful. Don't get bit, the poison's almost pleasant but the smell will stay with you for a week.
Panther indeed, my bad.

ElterAgo |

Skutene shakes in frustration, Not my fault! It was hiding behind the corn! Tvoj svet je tma! and throws another glob of shadows at the remaining lizard.
gloomblind bold ranged touch attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22, if hits negative energy damage: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 4, 5) = 16 and reflex save DC=17 or blind for 1 round.

TarkXT |

** spoiler omitted **
@Tark, not sure what that is, a spell? What's it called, where are you casting it? Here's the map.
EDIT: I've put the map under my name (the link called "Family Business")
Didn't even know there was a map sorry
Spell is Spiked Pit. The big dark spot is where I would drop it if at all possible. The lizard it's directly under and the one immediately next to it would have to save or fall in to the Sarlaac.
"Not that I expect the outcome to be different but perhaps since they outnumber us a bit of cunning rather than hammering might be in order?!?"

Nickadeamous |

One of the people who farms on your land in the Marid Plains has come to the estate in search of help.
"Help!" He cries, "My farm has been overrun by a pack of huge lizards!"
Minutes later, a second man runs in crying the same thing! And his farm is elsewhere.
** spoiler omitted **
What do you do? BTW you can and should break up into teams if you want to help both men.
Also, rolling isn't necessary for this thread, just take 10 for everything so I can get a feel for how you work on average.

Llaelian |

"Not that I expect the outcome to be different but perhaps since they outnumber us a bit of cunning rather than hammering might be in order?!?"
"Come on, you're ruining the fun! Tactics if for when there is a need. They just look and die like plain lizards.", replies Leane as she retrieves her sword from the dead lizard.
Every one of team SALAM has acted this round. It's the lizards' turn now.

Kansenshi is sitting at the table as mama walks in. His head is half tilted sideways with his face gnawing a sandwich that seems to engulf his head. Meat and jam flop from between the two pieces of bread as he awkwardly tries to tackle the beast.
Upon hearing about the news his hands release the monstrous clump of food and it splatters to the floor. He darts out the door with his face covered in jam. At the entrance he ponders for a second which team to join. He hold out both fist "Rock Scissors Paper". Rock wins and he darts as fast as his legs will carry him towards team ride.

The Little Game Master |

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
The last untouched lizard goes blind and begins half-crying half-hissing as it runs about.
Tark/Altius: What's the save DC? After I know whether those lizards have fallen down the pit, I'll move them.
"Thank you, I'd love some water," the first man says, "the lizards came from the east."
The other one nods, "Yes, probably from the foothills near the Ndele Gap."
The first rebuts him, "Couldn't be! That's much too far, they probably have a nest closer by."
The two men then begin bickering like an old married couple.
After the lizards take their turn (after Inta takes his), Kansenshi will join team RIDE making it team IRKED! haha!

Nickadeamous |

"Now now you two" she begins as she moves to pick up the half-eaten sandwich off the floor. "No sense in getting all worked up here at my table. It's quite possible that they came from, or are in multiple locations. Lizards don't generally run in packs, you know" she says as she pours the farmers some water. "Once your farms are secure, I'll have some of the kids try to track the lizards back to their nest and we'll send others up to the gap to scout it out. Now, once this lizard mess is all settled I'll need each of you to send me a list of your losses so that we can see about replacing them. We'll still need you to keep working and get your crops harvested. People gotta eat you know. Now, why don't you two wait right here while I go find my husband and the four of us will return to your farms. The kids should have the problem under control and we'll check on your families and see if there was any damage done." Mama excuses herself and begins to search the manor for her husband.

I think it's technically earwax, but they secrete it down along their jaws. It's a lovely poison. You can help me distill it, and assuming you bathe at least twice a day for the next week or so you won't even remember it. You'll have some fabulously hallucinogenic dreams though. Really vivid.
She draws another arrow, taking aim at the next beast as they move to attack.
Assuming noone gets hurt, Daphne stays to the sidelines next round as well firing arrows at the wounded lizards to try and finish them off. Her full attack (Assuming a 10 rolled) is 20/20, with an average of 10-11 per hit. +1 to hit and damage for any close shots and she doesn't take penalties from cover.

The Little Game Master |

Okay, I think I've seen enough. I'm going to focus on choosing, now. Thanks for playing!

The Little Game Master |

Let's do it this way: everyone put down their top three races, and I'll propose a family tree, how's that sound?

ElterAgo |

That, my friends, is why lizards have feathers!
.
To be honest, Skutene's concept really works just fine with any of the races mentioned. The build will just adjust slightly based on which is selected. But to put something down.
.
3) Tiefling (Pitborn)
2) half-elf
1) Aasimar (Garuda or Peri blooded by preference)

ElterAgo |

OK I need to know why do I see so many people trying to play tieflings and or aasimars? ? I actually don't know anything about the race except for the dnd 3.5 stuff
Well in many/most cases it is because they get a +2 to two ability scores with not -2 on another PLUS additional abilities. many consider them to be the most powerful character races. That can sometimes make a difference. Especially at low levels. Once you get to mid levels it tends to not make much difference. Your class abilities are for the most part outshining everything your race gave you.
But in this particular case, it is because I want Skutene's genetics as messed-up as possible. I would still want something weird even if the GM decided to nerf the race (which a few GM's choose to do). But even if 'human' is the choice. I've figured out enough messed-up weirdness to cram into Skutene to keep me happy. 8~0

The Little Game Master |

Daphne, what are your top 3 races? Same as your submission?
And does everyone want to be siblings? Anyone care to be an earlier generation?

Malcon Marid |

^^ I agree with Skutene.
Also I will be out of town until Sunday night. So if we start, DMPC me until I get back.

The Little Game Master |

Okay, here's what I'm thinking: The twins are pitborn, and are half-brothers (same father) to Daphne and Dave's character whose name escapes me. Rogelio is their dad's older brother's half-elf son. Daphne and Dave's character are human.
How does that sound?
EDIT: Just remember, you all grew up together.

Inta Matoya Marid |

Also, we are the all the same generation then? Figure about no more than 10 years difference between oldest and youngest probably... I'm nominating myself for eldest!!!

The Little Game Master |

I think it's part of Daphne's character that she's older, and Rogelio too for that matter... your character seems like it would fit better with a younger person.

Works for me.

Yeah, I can re-imagine him as younger. But I'm keeping the beard.

The Little Game Master |

Younger doesn't necessarily mean young. I've got friends who had full beards at 19, so...

Inta Matoya Marid |

Just finished up my profile, except for background, which is pretty simple.
Sellsword, soldier, did some adventures, fought some bad guys, no angsty trauma whatsoever.

Daphne Oleander Marid |

how close is everyone to getting ready?
I think I'm like 90% ready. I bought a horse, and encourage everyone else to do so as well. We're in the plains and Rogelio is mounted. Ruminating on the last 10% this afternoon.
Oh and proposing the usual, split all the loot n+1 ways, so we have a party share to buy CLW wands with.

Rogelio Monteo |

Oh thanks for some reason it was not showing new post

Skutene Marid |

Pitborn will work for me.
d00 variant abilities: 1d100 ⇒ 75 let me know if you don't like this option
75 yields 'sonic resist 5'
Do we have a family religion/deity?
hp: 6d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 3, 5, 6, 6) = 26
GM questions.
1) It is pretty powerful, but would you allow the Finding Haleen trait from Legacy of Fire? It does fit family members pretty well.
2) Did you agree to using a drawback and it giving an extra trait?

Rogelio Monteo |

You know that's one of the last things I think about with characters, when it's not a cleric...I don't have a preference so what ever you all choose I'm good with

To the other players:
It would not be unreasonable for family members raised together to have teamwork feats in common. Some of them can be good for almost any build. Shake it off and lookout come immediately to mind. But some of the others could also be good.
If anyone is interested, I am open to the possibility of some teamwork feats. But if no one is interested, that is fine too.
