Grint hangs his bow over his shoulder again and then grabs his greatsword as he moves up the ship to confront the man firing the cold rays.
Moving 10 feet ver the ice, should not need Acro checks for it.
GM Chyro |
A character who takes any nonlethal damage from cold or exposure is beset by frostbite or hypothermia (treat her as fatigued). These penalties end when the character recovers the nonlethal damage she took from the cold and exposure
A character cannot recover from the damage dealt by a cold environment until she gets out of the cold and warms up again.
Do you see the map? :3
You're moving on slick surface.Like grease, moving through it requires acro check.

@GM: My action was to more than just curse; I was contemplating between healing Grint or readying an action to strike at the witch with my crossbow. I have two more questions for you before I decide: Is the gangplank made of ice or covered in ice? Secondly... would fire damage warm Grint enough to negate that portion of the fatigue (still needs a heal, but will have satisfied that requirement?)
GM Chyro |
Pardon.
The plank is covered in ice, if you heat up Grint, yes, sure.
But it'll have to be alot of heat.
May i point out the bonfires near the water? Spending 1 round adjacent to one will do the same.
The crystals have limited charges, after which they have to charge up.

Thorn, you underestimate her damage output potential.
The others can vouch for her in combat. Plus, i know Sven's stats, so i know very well it's within her capabilities.
Grint, grease says 'creatures can move through the area at half speed with an acro roll. It does not mention conditions to avoid the acro roll for movement.
Thorn Dulani |
I am not underestimating anything I am simply going of of what currently is happening. Unless you personally gave her a " Do plot armor worth of damage here specifically for you " Assuming she does indeed hit, its very possible she could hurt him. Its just you make it sound like others were suddenly not as good or for some reason lesser, If she was focused, had the same luck and like.... well she would be on the ground. As an avg hit would do so from this guy. Thorn got to hit this guy twice before falling, Crits being screwed from various things. Indeed it does seem like the encounter is super difficult for those built like Thorn as far as melee.
The GM is right about the slick it works like Grease, which You need an Acro 10 normally to move through.. seems a mixture of Ice and grease.
GM Chyro |
If you interpreted it such, pity, it's not my goal to make people feel worthless. It depends on the dice, imo, how a fight plays out. But as Sven's a tank, Elsa's got an advantage, as long as she avoids him.
Father Burdock |
@At least you had some speed and spells to work with. I'm down to a single magic weapon I'm saving for a CLW and a 20' movement speed and little to no ability to board the ship :P I think my next purchase is going to be a wand of Reach CLW so I can at least heal people at a range since I lost channel energy for my archetype.
Unless those braziers could be moved towards the gangplank to melt the ice, but otherwise I think I'm out of the ship fight :(
GM Chyro |
Let's improvise with 1d4 fire dmg, to grab a piece of burning wood, drop it onto the plank, defrosting the plank in 2 rounds.

GM Chyro |
Grint, this coating was with the effect of grease in mind, as you're walking up a 10 feet slick slope, instead of flat surface like a street. As Thorn and Sivar rolled to cross it, it's only fair you roll as well.
