where old hat players, me and Sealith, seen some big times rules fall outs before in games. Biggest one I can remember was in a CoC Delta Green game with a player having his PC use a Biretta Lite 50 to shoot down in two shots an helicopter, hovering 80' above. When we worked out under the rules it could not be done, The player went nuts saying "But THATS JUST what that gun was designed to DO!!" The GM after a long ear bending said. "Ok you hit it, it explodes, the flaming wreckage falls the 80' down on top of your PC, it takes 6d6 blast damage and 4d6 fire Damage, with 10d6 crushing damage. Roll up a new PC"
haha still makes me chuckle.
thing is "rules of cool" tops all rules. If it cool for the GM and PLayers then its happens. Had lots of loved PCs die, most because it was cool for the game.

The Council GM |

damn, that's intense death from the GM hahahahah
Luckily due to this long, in-game introduction (and you witty bastards finding the secrets in a DAY)
No one dies this time <3
Working together with you guys on all your projects has simply been more than I ever hoped for to this point xD
Oh, I should mention, you guys are all starting in the morning in the hospital where Telula and Suzume and Vasu were recovering at <3 Probably important for me to paint that little bit of scenery.
*essentially same structure as the inn, just surrounded with basic healers/ clerics instead of merchants and aristocrats xD *

The Council GM |

Not a problem at all. I just created two huge walls of texts.
Any questions *Please* feel free to address them here, or PM me <3
I have a conversation due with Sealith about a couple of things before we move on, so you guys have 24 - 48 hours to process everything that happened, and move up to "level 2" for your characters. <3

![]() |

Whatever to keep the game moving. Will be more available soon. Saying my goodbyes where I am. Headed back to America soon. Then things should settle down for me.
Also, how do I go about leveling up my HP for this campaign? Do I roll on the discussion board here, use a half-die, or something?

The Council GM |

With the few who are "awake" right now, Gogrin will be answering questions.
I still stand by my 24-48 moratorium on anything actually moving forward in the game until I figure out a few details with Sealith about the next few parts, so please take your time in digesting everything <3
Now is the time you guys will actually get all the answers possible in game, since there are no more secretive GM DC's to trigger events.
For now :)

Lord Perpireen McGibel |

Leveled to NPC Aristocrat [L1]
So hes on the same level now as others, yes i know i could get more with another class but cool. Wits and skills.
I will most likely level him Aristocrat [L5]
Just for the fun of seeing a PC like that in a game.
This level
Skills points +6 HP+1d8 BAB+0 Saves +0/+0/+2
[nice and simple]

That's right! As much as we all love violence in Pathfinder, a true and good story requires tasks, missions, and not just slaying and getting our asses kicked or even, kicking ass! (when a GM creates a fair fight, that is xD)
Now, I assure you this is not going to be the ol' "roll for loyalty check, woohoo your people love you" boredom that some of these links read- oh no. It will be entertaining, and who knows what can be unfolded inside 42 before building the promised road!
for anyone that is unaware/ has NO clue what I'm talking about, I'm currently reading these thrice and checking them twice, but a little bit of this and a little bit of that is what we will be doing :)
Please know that though, YES, I created 5 tasks so that each one of you could do each one individually, there is *no reason* two of you cannot do the same task, yes, even the metallurgy shop <3 So, do what you want, and if you have NO interest in any of the five tasks, I re-iterate, do what you want.
As long as you can convince me, very easily, that it somehow contributes to the development of 42 <3

The Council GM |

Oh, everything is prep'd and ready to go, my dear Vasu. Spending limits and what not abroad!
hint hint- no matter WHAT you buy, you can *only* spend 700 gp in a day!
Now that the cinematics are done, we play with the real rules in regards to development. *now that I'm ready for you secret finding sycophants, just kidding xD*
If *anyone* is uncomfortable or unfamiliar with the downtime *and f!!%ed up* kingdom builder mechanics, no biggie, we will take it slowly as I took the first part slowly.
Also, Vasu, don't forget, I'll need you all to chime in on how you are going to help develop 42!

Lord Perpireen McGibel |

I'm thinking a network if spy's, informers, Bards and street performers. No assassins, as such, far to dramatic.
His tools, Gossip, news, rummer, criminal activity , you name it. All that dark belly side a city has, Arrr Home.
I think Vasu will be of great help as much as Sealith.

The Council GM |

Interesting- so you are thinking covert ops?
I like it. I can write up a few scenarios in that fashion. In case it wasn't obvious Lord McGibel you guys will be generating / rolling checks for Influence generation in this role.
The way it's going to work is you and the others on this team will make 7 rolls *1 for each day in a week*
Based on the rolls vs. the DC of certain checks and the DC of Influence generated, I create a scenario fitting of that reward for the week, in general. If it is a successful role, I lay out what it is you want, i.e. if YOU are on the prowl for some people in service to 42's Spymaster, that's not a problem :)
The "timer" on all of this is how long it takes to rebuild the wall and maintain influence over the leadership change- which I keep track of myself <3

The Council GM |

*blows whistle*
*throws flag*
Suzume, your post is flagged as a joke, don't worry, all I did was click "just wanted to try the flagging system xD"
REALLY, this is not a big deal but, yes, Suzume, you definitely do not know Auran yet. Though let's all take a deeeep kumbaiya breath <3
Vasu is a complex character- she has been off-set, distant, and quite this entire journey along with extreme anger shown to most if not essentially all of you xD
Her demeanor is almost, ALMOST that of The Speaker. I am of a mind of Sealith on this- now that Vasu will be with us and posting more often *AND at dinner attendances* we will get used to one another.
These next days in game and out are about you guys learning how to work with one another, considering you actually know essentially *nothing* about one another other than spoilers I've "allowed" (wink wink) you to read.
I love you all, now let's get this started, I believe everyone has a job :)
Vasu, I got chyu!
AND, I *have* been pretty lenient, but unless I say other wise, if it is *whispered* it is 15 Perception DC!
Now, f#~# all these rules, let's play :)

The Council GM |

Nope, one more re-write.
You guys have been "in game" for one day. To spice things up, I'm putting a moratorium on Auran being "learnt", even if you "can learn it" based on your intelligence or what have you, until about 3 weeks "in game"
I'm assuming this will be about a week or so from today. I think that's fair, since again-
You have all only known one another for one day.
Only exceptions; Telula, Sealith <3
NOW f+$% the rules we can play. Sorry 'bout that xD

Lord Perpireen McGibel |

my thinking was Animal bird would have Auran as a close derivative language, but hes working it out. how ever seeing how other players are firing off pms to the gm about this, ill back him of learning as per the gm's request. i also missed the whispered thing, me bad.

Vasu |

Oh, what about the rogue talent Green Tongue? It states that the rogue who takes it gains Sylvan as a bonus language. Is Vasu treated as knowing it immediately as it came from her rogue class, or would she have to learn it as if using the linguistics skill?
[Vasu can also speak to magical beasts and monstrous humanoids using a DC 15 linguistics check using the talent.]

The Council GM |

Since it is your class ability, and the Sylvan language does not threaten any PC's role-playing created into the game within the first game day, I'm relatively ok with a language being learned in a day. Truly the only issue I had with any language being learned in a day was Auran, just because;
- You guys don't know one another yet, and therefore anyone not speaking Auran with no linguistics attempts or rolls or a spell helping them learn the language = they don't really even know you guys are speaking Auran xD
- Class skill is a little different, BUT, in defense of Sylvan;
1) You are in a magical land of *nothing* but talking animals with intelligence points over 2 for pretty much all of them
2) You are in a magical land fueled by a Tree powered by an elemental druid that uses it to guide said magical animals throughout the entire land
In *this* regard, I'm ok with Sylvan as a class thing both because it doesn't threaten any PC's role playing for now, is slightly realistic, and truly- because it doesn't threaten a player's PC.
The rules are a nice side dish, but I honestly try to not care about rules too much xD

Loving this, great fun. Sorry if posting fast, but boy is good. Been a while since I had a good game like this. and well played everyone.
*reaches over and takes some popcorn, gets his 3d glasses ready

The Council GM |

Mr. Psycho lost his will save is what happened.
OR- or-
Something like this was planned all along xD
*It wasn't.*
IT WAS. (not).
xD
Essentially, what some of you may learn from your Knowledge(Local) rolls in the future, is that Lord McGibel essentially insulted the equivalent of the Vice President to a pretty high degree.
On top of that, some other plans fell through behind the scenes as well.
Mr. Psycho does not enjoy things not going his way, which means, well, this happens.

Vasu |

Speaking to the GM. Players can feel free to read this over and make suggestions, but I really just need Council GM's final seal of approval on this to go ahead with one of the ideas.
I am going to have Vasu, with your permission, attempt to either obtain a magical beast or a simple bird. I have several ideas on how Vasu's hunt for such a creature could be set up.
Firstly, Vasu could buy a bird like any normal person would from a seller of animals. She'd most likely buy a raven or owl.
Secondly, she could buy a young hippogriff, a flying magical beast, for five hundred gold pieces. She would need to train it, but that's what Handle Animal is for. If these are not sold in 42, we can also set up a black market kind of scene where Vasu makes contact with an underground seller of magical beasts. A young hippogriff is not difficult to train as most magical beasts would be. To quote the second bestiary,
"Far easier to train than griffons, yet easily as intelligent as horses... Although they are magical beasts, if captured young, hippogriffs can be trained using Handle Animal as if they were animals. An adult hippogriff is more difficult to train, and attempts to do so follow the normal rules for training magical beasts using the skill. A hippogriff saddle must be specially crafted so as to not impact the movement of the creature’s wings—these saddles are always exotic saddles... A hippogriff’s egg is worth 200 gp, but a healthy young hippogriff is worth 500 gp. A fully trained hippogriff mount can command prices of up to 5,000 gp or more. A hippogriff can carry 198 pounds as a light load, 399 pounds as a medium load, and 600 pounds as a heavy load."
Lastly, Vasu could always go out and wrangle a mother magical beast for her babies, but I doubt that she exactly has the initiative to think of an idea such as that at this point.
But seriously, hippogriffs are freakin' awesome, and they have feathers, so Vasu approves of them.
We can always start out with a raven or something of the sort if hippogriffs are too complex for this stage of the game.

The Council GM |

Leaving fits your character, sorry, didn't see this until after I posted but totally agree with what Vasu is currently doing xD
Based on 42's nature, and that they are unnaturally high in resources, they may indeed have a hippogriff <3
let's see here-
oh, no, nevermind, I'll edit my post. I have the perfect idea xD
I'm going to bot a few rolls for you, for the sake of seeing what you might be able to find xD
