So I'm assuming Lamm is still alive, yes? I'll read up the campaign to catch up...

In any case, I'm 95% percent sure I'd still be going for Investigator with a Swash dip: the 5% is for maybe Alchemist with stupidly high Intelligence, considering that unfortunately most of the new poison stuff is for Alchemists only, not Alchemist/Investigators. :(

Here is Talgar the arcanist I submitted earlier. Might tweak him some, but will use the background. Might switch feats/exploits, but that is about it. Need to level him up if we are level 2.

Alive and kicking, despite my PC's very best efforts to get others to do her dirty work for her.

Bummer that investigators can't use the poison stuff! You'd think it would be natural fit.

I'm guessing that Poison is one of the things that is supposed to be different between Alchemists and Investigators, but no one usually cares because of how underwhelming chained poisons are: it's telling that all but one of the Investigator Archetypes trade poisons away. :P

I'm also really considering to go Eldritch Poisoner alchemist with High Int, if DMD is okay with Unchaining the Archetype's poison: having poison on hand instead of having to rely always on crafted ones is really hard to pass up.

Certainly sounds entertaining, and thank you for the invite, but it seems the other two already have great characters ready to go, so I'll leave it be. Besides, though it was some years ago, I have already read CotCT when I thought I might run it back in the beta days. Hope it is as fun as this game, even if they don't get the pleasure of being thoroughly wicked. :P

Waaaaaaaaaaaait...

I noticed, written in Asmodean fine print, that the Eldritch Poisoner poisons don't work with Alchemist discoveries. <.<
Back to square one! If DMD gives the okay, I'll start the rebuild and asks in the Advice section if people had better luck with Investigator, Alchemist, or whatever: there are really very few discussions around about Unchained Poisons.

I've been thinking on how we can do the resurrection sacrifice thing, but I doubt we have the means: he's been dead for way too much. No poetic sacrifice :/

Though, where can we find a Daemonic cultist? Unless Hexor and Vexor have some ideas, the only thing I can think of is to find new Daemonic converts.


Oh, I like that idea - fortunately however, the AP giveth (it also taketh away, but we'll get to that later).

Yeah, the Doctor doesn't know about the restrictions of resurrection magic, just thought it was a wonderfully evil thing to do. :P Did the guy die within the last 200 years? Maybe we can get the Cardinal to come in and cast True Resurrection (cause he's totally 20th level and would totally be down for that. :P).


Apologies for slow posting; I've had a promotion at work, which means I'm considerably busier than I was 12 months ago.

I'm not going anywhere and I'm still committed to running this game, but for the moment at least, this slow posting rate is the new normal.

I've been away with work, but am back now and will have something up tomorrow.

My bad, guys/gals/other - it's Knowledge (dungeoneering) that's needed, not knowledge (nature).

In Soviet Talingarde, tree hugs you! But yeah, even taking 20 the Doctor cannot make that perception DC, so can't help right now.

That's fine - you've found pretty much everything on this floor that's of interest; I'm going to do a 'mop-up' post to allow us to get to the next floor up.


OK, level 2 is now explored; I've put up a link to the map to levels 1 and 2 and updated the spreadsheet so all the information on what's in the rooms is available. I don't want any complaints about how I never told you what was coming...

More seriously, where to now? Next level up? Or back down to regroup and/or do anything else?
