Oh yeah, some stats for your dice-rolling

The animated trees have low-light vision but not darkvision; the treants have darkvision*.

The treants are AC 24 [T 8 FF 24]

The animated trees are AC 21 [T 7 FF 21]

*and yes, I know treants aren't listed as having darkvision.

Err... As I am about to post, I am noticing that both Felrin and Ottakar are advancing towards the treants, while Etna and Tkaara remain rather close to the animated trees. Is that correct?

Because if we go with what I said in my previous OOC post about Erevan supporting Felrin with his attack on the treants, then that leaves the ladies possibly facing the two animatrees. In retrospect, with both the tiefling and the Beast going to deal with the treant, it would be better if Erevan stayed to support Tkaara and Etna. But it feels a bit metagamey to me (since Erevan technically goes before Felrin and Ottakar), so I thought to ask first.

Between two extra attack and Felrin negating the critical, the situation went from "Oh crap TPK" to "Eh, it's allright". :D

The new poison rules are pretty damn scary, let me tell you.

A bit of clarification as it might influence Erevan's following actions: Do the animated trees do anything like attack, or is it not their turn yet? Because if they cannot attack due to darkness, then Erevan may as well ignore them and head for the treants.


They can attack, but they can't see their targets due to the darkness. Plus one of them is on fire.

...and if you smite, you can even get through their DR!

Oh, I intend to! I was going to regardless, but it bypasses any DR the target may have, so that is one more thing to consider.

By the way, so as to know what to roll on that first successful smite attempt, is/are Jurak considered any of the following? Outsider (Good subtype) or Good creature with Cleric or Paladin levels.

Felrin - it was the tree that's on fire that failed its save against your spell. That's WHY it's on fire.

Right, but my spell affected the treants, not the trees. I assume when you say 'tree' you mean one of the trees animated by the treant. Those trees were not the target of blistering invective. Not sure if I've misunderstood something or you have. I'm posting on a wee device, so it's a bit hard to sort through tabs and posts to reconstruct things.


It's an area effect: I rolled for everyone. The treants and 1 tree saved, the other tree didn't.

Sorry, with the holidays I've been all over the place and posting from a variety of different spots and various devices; I haven't had my notes with me. That one slipped past me. Still, no harm done.

The treant(s?) was/were worth 12,800 XP, BTW. Well done.

And at some point very soon, I'm going to stop going by XP and start levelling up by fiat. You'll see why when we get there.

Anyone talks Boggard, or do I try a couple of languages?

And I'm leveling by fiat in all of my other games, so no problem: I'm assuming that's because we're six and with templates/race builder? Upping the CR of fights to keep them relevant would just give us more exp and ramp things up?

I don't think I've ever had a character take Boggard as a language. It just seems such a bad ROI.

How much XP does Taty start with, DMD? Or should I just level via fiat starting now?

Also, Tatienne is a relic hunter. It seems appropriate that she take a memento from these fabulous ents. Anyone mind if I take the other heartwood, or barring that, a finger, nose, etc.? How big is a Jurak face?

As a question, how much time has passed? The Doctor has his Mutagen (10min/level) active as well as Barkskin (10min/level) and shield (1min/level). The shield might have worn off, but the others should be active. If the Bogards showed right up after the fight, all three might be still working.

If the mutagens and barkskin are working, then the Doctor is definitely the best fighter.


TBH, I have no idea if Ottakar is around at this point, or how frequently he can post.

Can we come up with a plan that doesn't involve relying on him to post regularly?

We're with either Erevan or Felrin for 1v1 combat, then. Do we know if those Boggards are poisonous? If that's the case, Felrin is out of the question too: attacking them with claws would be dangerous.
