The Damned Reborn (Inactive)

Game Master Aiunder

The mere mention of your name brings fear to commoners and even nobles in their walled and guarded manors are nervous when your name is heard.
Well that was true until you died.

Middle of the party scouting is the witch's job!

HP 33/72, AC 23, Fort +11, Ref +7, Will +8, Corruption 4/6, Smite 2/2 Scabbard 1/1, Pearl 1/1 +16 Intimidate, +13 Diplomacy, +13 Bluff

As of tomorrow I'm on a trip. I'll be back Sunday night. I'll still be able to post, but not as reliably. Please don't hold things up on my account.

HP: 10/10 | AC 15/10/14 | Fort +2, Ref +1, Will +2; +2 vs. illusions, death, and fear | Init -1 | Perception +1 (auto fail hearing)

Have fun if vacation, remember to take time to do nothing if it is work related.

M Human Undead Lord Cleric/Agent of the Grave

Mordecai isn't one for scouting.

HP: 10/10 | AC 15/10/14 | Fort +2, Ref +1, Will +2; +2 vs. illusions, death, and fear | Init -1 | Perception +1 (auto fail hearing)

Scouting is for the gimp, wonder where I left him this time.

*Waves and goes on vacation*

Eidolon on Master's Initiative:

If both have same init mod (or close) good idea.

If not, bad idea.

Why?

My Summoner (not hypotetical, my actual summoner for saturday night games) took Improved Init. and Reactionary, and a 16 Dex for an Init of +9. My Eidolon is a Quadruped with Pounce, Claw, Claw, Bite, Fly, Large, Improved Natural Armor (x2) ... , and so on. Giving him a +9 to Init would be AMAZING since he only has a +1 (IIRC). It is the same as letting him double stack the Improved Initiative feat twice!

It would also really piss off the fighters in my group who are already upset about the Eidolon's power v. their own power.

Just my 2 cp.

M Human Undead Lord Cleric/Agent of the Grave

I'd argue that summoned creatures act on their summoner's turn and so Eidolons should do the same, though it is true there is no rule saying so. I wouldn't be fussed.

You can either act independently or act together on worst initiative.

HP 33/72, AC 23, Fort +11, Ref +7, Will +8, Corruption 4/6, Smite 2/2 Scabbard 1/1, Pearl 1/1 +16 Intimidate, +13 Diplomacy, +13 Bluff

^ good ruling.

Back in action tomorrow. Sorry about my absence.

HP 33/72, AC 23, Fort +11, Ref +7, Will +8, Corruption 4/6, Smite 2/2 Scabbard 1/1, Pearl 1/1 +16 Intimidate, +13 Diplomacy, +13 Bluff

I'm back. Thanks for making my rolls for me. I'll wait to see what the folks ahead of me in initiative do before taking my swings.

M Human Undead Lord Cleric/Agent of the Grave

I'm presuming it's top of the round now, should we just all post our actions or should we wait for the next person to post or the next NPC?

yeah new round new rolls/actions please

I think we lost Aluria.

If she doesn't post soon she's getting eaten by something.

AC 20 (22) FF 19 T 11| HP 30| F +6 To R +2 W +6| Init +2| Percep +6

Pitfalls for being MIA in an evil campaign are harsh! LOL!

Male Fetchling Fighter 1/Ninja 4/Red Mantis Assassin 1 | HP 59/66 | AC 20 T 16 FF 15 | CMD 21 |Fort +5, Ref +10, Will +3 | Init +5 | Perception +11 | Ki 6/6

On that note, should we send her down one of the tunnels to "scout?"

M Human Undead Lord Cleric/Agent of the Grave

Only after we strip her of all her stuff.

AC 20 (22) FF 19 T 11| HP 30| F +6 To R +2 W +6| Init +2| Percep +6

She wouldn't mind I'm sure. She was used to stripping in front of us anyway.

M Human Undead Lord Cleric/Agent of the Grave

Precisely. I'm sure she'd be filled with the spirit of generosity if she was here.

Ahh it's DM hetero; apparently he's been silent on all his games since christmas.

Wait, she only has a belt of strength? Really?

AC 20 (22) FF 19 T 11| HP 30| F +6 To R +2 W +6| Init +2| Percep +6

DIBS!

HP: 10/10 | AC 15/10/14 | Fort +2, Ref +1, Will +2; +2 vs. illusions, death, and fear | Init -1 | Perception +1 (auto fail hearing)

Pass! Unless I can convert it to a belt of con....

M Human Undead Lord Cleric/Agent of the Grave

Ezra, I want to have your brilliant intelligent babies.

HP: 10/10 | AC 15/10/14 | Fort +2, Ref +1, Will +2; +2 vs. illusions, death, and fear | Init -1 | Perception +1 (auto fail hearing)

This ain't my first rodeo!

HP: 10/10 | AC 15/10/14 | Fort +2, Ref +1, Will +2; +2 vs. illusions, death, and fear | Init -1 | Perception +1 (auto fail hearing)

Well, that is theoretically 5 DC 12 reflex saves on each swarm, 1d4+1 damage on each swarm that fails for each time they fail, and each swarm that fails is sucked up into a whirlwind and scattered about. Should help some!

HP 33/72, AC 23, Fort +11, Ref +7, Will +8, Corruption 4/6, Smite 2/2 Scabbard 1/1, Pearl 1/1 +16 Intimidate, +13 Diplomacy, +13 Bluff

Doesn't seem like it worked like it was supposed to. Sad. It was a fantastic idea.

your elemental attack next round once the summon finishes.

HP 33/72, AC 23, Fort +11, Ref +7, Will +8, Corruption 4/6, Smite 2/2 Scabbard 1/1, Pearl 1/1 +16 Intimidate, +13 Diplomacy, +13 Bluff

How did I catch everyone? My post specifically says I moved to get clear of them. Was there nowhere to move? Could I at least move so I only hit a few of them? How did that happen?

I think we've lost Leon too.

HP 33/72, AC 23, Fort +11, Ref +7, Will +8, Corruption 4/6, Smite 2/2 Scabbard 1/1, Pearl 1/1 +16 Intimidate, +13 Diplomacy, +13 Bluff

Nope. I'm here. I've been waiting for updates but not getting them.

I apologize. I'm here every day, but my campaigns tab hasn't been notifying me of updates.

HP: 10/10 | AC 15/10/14 | Fort +2, Ref +1, Will +2; +2 vs. illusions, death, and fear | Init -1 | Perception +1 (auto fail hearing)

Mine is missing days now and then as well.

HP 33/72, AC 23, Fort +11, Ref +7, Will +8, Corruption 4/6, Smite 2/2 Scabbard 1/1, Pearl 1/1 +16 Intimidate, +13 Diplomacy, +13 Bluff

I'm guessing I must have accidentally clicked the little x nect to the notification number at some point.

I hate that thing. I check the boards from my phone a lot. Its really easy to accidentally hit that on a touch screen.

yeah, i lost my first campaign that way, if i wasn't the DM i wouldn't have even noticed it gone.

HP: 10/10 | AC 15/10/14 | Fort +2, Ref +1, Will +2; +2 vs. illusions, death, and fear | Init -1 | Perception +1 (auto fail hearing)

Voltaire is nice, but I like creepshow! Link Yes, it is a Youtube link.

Also, I finally finished (knda) my Guide

HP 33/72, AC 23, Fort +11, Ref +7, Will +8, Corruption 4/6, Smite 2/2 Scabbard 1/1, Pearl 1/1 +16 Intimidate, +13 Diplomacy, +13 Bluff

good stuff. :)

That being said, why the hell do goth-y girls get sprawling chest tattoos? Ugh.

From further than 15 feet away it just looks like awful scarring or chest hair. Not attractive.

HP: 10/10 | AC 15/10/14 | Fort +2, Ref +1, Will +2; +2 vs. illusions, death, and fear | Init -1 | Perception +1 (auto fail hearing)

I cant wait to drop a Rainbow Pattern DC (10 base +4(spell Level) +9 (Cha Mod) +1 (Gnome)) 24 Will Save, with -9 to each creature who can see's HD. . .

What? What's that you say? An army of goblins? What there are 10,000 of them? They are all level 7 Warriors? They all have worg mounts? Well... Rainbow Pattern . . . Yep. Effects em all. . . All 120,000 HD worth. . .

All those high level pattern spells are finally useful!

M Human Undead Lord Cleric/Agent of the Grave

@Ezra- Why not continue with the Oracle levels? You'll get all the Patterns spells as Mystery spells.

HP: 10/10 | AC 15/10/14 | Fort +2, Ref +1, Will +2; +2 vs. illusions, death, and fear | Init -1 | Perception +1 (auto fail hearing)

Easy answer? If you stick with Oracle, your Animal Companion will achieve maximum level 4. It will die almost instantly in tier 7+. Even if the GM does not directly target the companion; traps, explosions, or environmental hazards will eat it alive, or, if you never become sorcerer you lose the Animal Companion entirely.

M Human Undead Lord Cleric/Agent of the Grave

No, I mean why don't you ignore Sorcerer entirely. Not entirely convinced by the animal companion anyway, but i'll settle right now for examining what's so wrong with going straight Heavens Oracle.

HP 33/72, AC 23, Fort +11, Ref +7, Will +8, Corruption 4/6, Smite 2/2 Scabbard 1/1, Pearl 1/1 +16 Intimidate, +13 Diplomacy, +13 Bluff

I think if it were me, I'd just get wands and scrolls or Staffs of the Pattern spells and other Arcane stuff I liked, take the Dangerously Curious trait and max out UMD, and go straight Oracle.

It might seem expensive, but with Crafting feats and the ways of reducing your crafting costs, you could actually use a scroll to make a staff or wand and get around a lot of the overhead.

HP: 10/10 | AC 15/10/14 | Fort +2, Ref +1, Will +2; +2 vs. illusions, death, and fear | Init -1 | Perception +1 (auto fail hearing)

There are no crafting feats in PFS. You also over your character's entire career, she will only net 120,000 to 130,000 gp on average. It limits your ability to rely on wands/staves/scrolls substantially. Although you get PP which you can spend to get wands of level 1 spells for free, there is no way to get brought back to life on a TPK unless you have 28 or so PP banked.

The animal companion gets you Fly at level 1.

  • Combat Trained so it can move you around (letting you save your move action for other things) thanks to Guide with Knees (DC 5), a free action.
  • You can also make a DC 10+Spell level concentration check to cast a spell whie the mount is moving, at any point in its movement. Thus, over the 80' flight, you could cast your short range spell at 10' from the BBEG, and move on another 40' to the other side of him, avoiding his AoOs and keeping him from being able to run you down.
  • The Animal Companion is a Combat Trained mount, so you can let it take a full attack while you do other things, like cast a spell with a DC 10 Ride Check via the Fight with Combat Trained Mount trick. (Also a free action.)
  • The Roc is between you and your target (presumably, you are on top, and the target below) thus you have a near permanent +4 AC due to soft cover.

A good number of these could be done with a combat trained horse, dog, or pony, but such animals have very low HD, AC, and next to nothing in the realm of Feats (one feat, usually Endurance). They will never get more than their 2HD, so they become massively disposable, and quite expensive (especially given the limitations on gold as set out above).

Good question though! I will add it to the guide!

  • HP 33/72, AC 23, Fort +11, Ref +7, Will +8, Corruption 4/6, Smite 2/2 Scabbard 1/1, Pearl 1/1 +16 Intimidate, +13 Diplomacy, +13 Bluff

Didn't realize it was for PFS. Not a fan personally.

    HP 33/72, AC 23, Fort +11, Ref +7, Will +8, Corruption 4/6, Smite 2/2 Scabbard 1/1, Pearl 1/1 +16 Intimidate, +13 Diplomacy, +13 Bluff

The only thing she had that I might want is the Stregth Belt. Krovax has also said he'd like it.

Anyone who isn't us have an opinion?

M Human Undead Lord Cleric/Agent of the Grave

Not fussed- my minion can live without it.

    AC 20 (22) FF 19 T 11| HP 30| F +6 To R +2 W +6| Init +2| Percep +6

I kinda said it jokingly, but it would work for me. However, if anyone should get it outright, it'd be Leon. He's our primary up front guy.

    HP 33/72, AC 23, Fort +11, Ref +7, Will +8, Corruption 4/6, Smite 2/2 Scabbard 1/1, Pearl 1/1 +16 Intimidate, +13 Diplomacy, +13 Bluff

Good enough for me. Leon gets a Strength belt.

You can have the next one. :)

    HP 33/72, AC 23, Fort +11, Ref +7, Will +8, Corruption 4/6, Smite 2/2 Scabbard 1/1, Pearl 1/1 +16 Intimidate, +13 Diplomacy, +13 Bluff

    Rules question-

I've use Unnatural Presence in three games now, and I've never once seen it actually work. It's supposed to let me frighten Vermin, but no GM I've played with has seemed to allow it.

Am I doing something wrong in how I use it? Should I trade it out for something else that is more useful?

I've always used it thus: creatures with an intelligence score are susceptible as well as animal vermin like rats and such but mindless creatures like insects can not be affected.

    HP 33/72, AC 23, Fort +11, Ref +7, Will +8, Corruption 4/6, Smite 2/2 Scabbard 1/1, Pearl 1/1 +16 Intimidate, +13 Diplomacy, +13 Bluff

Normally you are correct. Mindless things cannot be effected by Fear or Morale effects. The Unnatural Presence ability creates a specific exception to that rule, allowing Vermin to be effected by Intimidate.

Animals, and any other creature with an intelligence score, is susceptible to intimidate. Everyone with Intimidate can use it on Rats, for example. Normally, you can't use it on bugs, but Unnatural Presence creates an exception.

At least that's what I've gathered.

    HP 33/72, AC 23, Fort +11, Ref +7, Will +8, Corruption 4/6, Smite 2/2 Scabbard 1/1, Pearl 1/1 +16 Intimidate, +13 Diplomacy, +13 Bluff

So far I've been unable to use Roar in the game because of where the encounters are (a common problem with mount companions)

Normally Antipaladins are able to swap out their companion when they level up.

Because it hasn't happened yet in game, would you allow me to do it now-ish?

M Human Undead Lord Cleric/Agent of the Grave

    Question, DM.

Would Aluria's corpse as it is, or maybe affected by some disguising or disfiguring spell, count as a Statue for the purpose of Enter Image?
