At one point in the meal, Anahita looks over to Ehos with a thoughtful face and asks, "Why not seek out one of those datapad we saw earlier, with some means to write into it, so it would display what you sought to write? That would save on the use of your pages and writing implement? Perhaps if the device were sophisticated enough, as mentioned by Star Light I think, it might just read your thoughts and display words as well? Or a telepathic device that hovers outside your silence boundary which will voice your thoughts? Those are proper use of tools to aid you, no?"
She's eating a little bit of everything, again, as if to sample what's offered.
Ehos' reaction was almost comical. He had a fork-full of food on it's way to his mouth when Anahita suggested using a datapad instead of a notebook. Room for the boys Baboon as, A kind of privet box. I can get them all made by tonight."
