Fei passes through the gates of the school, and continues for a few paces beyond before stopping. His lace confirms that the school has ample power levels, and the corridor has enough to spare for his test.

The young monk takes a centering breath, and lowers his stance slightly, leaning forward. Once he is sure there is nothing else in his immediate vicinity, he takes off at a full run, holding a position a few feet to the side of the road.

In a few short seconds, Fei passes the position of the first battery pylon buried further off the side of the road. As he does so, his lace instructs the pylon to transmit some of its energy - but instead of going to the school or another pylon, it goes back into the nanosuit. It then routes into his legs and, timed with each stride's contact with the ground, begins to propel him forward even faster than his already-phenomenal speed...

...And the young actually monk does not lose a leg in the process (though the ground is a bit worse for wear). (^-^)

Ardiente returns the kiss with a chaste one of his own, smiling but still blushing furiously. "Okay I should get going. Mithos already has a big headstart on me with this stuff and it wouldn't do to let him show me up, right?"

"See you tomorrow?" he asks, jumping up to his feet with an easy motion.

Vai tenses slightly as the door opens, but smiles and relaxes as Phaeze comes into view. A glint of light catches and shines through the diamond still about her neck.

"Thanks, Phaeze." she says warmly, already salivating a bit at the smell of the food wafting through the room. "I appreciate it. You should come in. Eggs aren't great company, though I'm sure I'll regret saying that once they hatch."

She glances down at the textbook in her lap - Algebraic Geometry, and quickly sets it aside. "Not getting far with this right now anyway."

Tybalt for about the third time this week realizes he can teleport long distances without expending the energy he did before. He finds himself at the lake, arriving and then relocating to the other side when he sees Ardiente and Raelle several yards away. Hopefully before they see him. He knows they don't like him, and he doesn't want to bother them, but to seem like he does this on purpose would be rude.
Once on the far side of the lake from the school, he summons a very large white shepherd's crook, attaching a hook and line to it and casts it into the water, hoping to get some fresh fish for sushi in a little bit.

Fei's experiment in kinetic acceleration goes well enough until he reaches the midpoint between Avalon and Kuros.

Coming rather abruptly upon a small caravan that had stopped on the side of the road to tend to one of their horses, the young monk was forced to rapidly alter his course. Had he devoted less attention to his energy readings and more to the road ahead, he could have probably taken to the air and avoided the group altogether.

Instead, he only had time to veer his body sharply to the left of the caravan, throwing his arm down in an attempt to alter his momentum. While it was a maneuver his body could handle, the ground could not...and as he just barely zipped by the rather surprised travelers, Fei lost his footing in the disintegrating earth and barreled across the road like a boulder, crashing through a patch of exposed rock and into a small copse of dead trees. The resulting spray of shattered stone and splintered wood left in his wake was a bit...excessive.

Fei finally came to a halt several dozen yards later, flat on his back and spreadeagled - a clear track in the earth marking his path as he raised his head to look back toward the road.

[Blink, Blink]

"Hmm."

Between trying to watch over Illithia, teaching Professor Reading's classes, Ghalen's attentions, following numerous dead-end leads, following actual leads into Kuros and the Firebird camp, and trying to find out all she could about Ehos' attacker/seducer. Having come to the conclusion that his experiment should not have been performed during normal 'traffic' hours, Fei rises from his thoughtfully prone state and starts to head back to the caravan to apologize for the disturbance. Being the concerned travelers that they were, they had already gathered their horses and fled the scene at speed, warding themselves against evil spirits as they went. :)

The young monk reroutes the excess energy he took back into the battery pylons, dusts off as best he can and finishes his commute to Kuros without further fanfare or incident.

He enters the facility and proceeds to look for James, starting at his office, and then the design wing.

Phaedra made a face like someone who had just bitten into a lemon. "I do not require your pity," she said stiffly.

Ignace rolled her eyes. "Phaedra is having some trouble adjusting to life on the surface. It's easier for Chara and I because we never lived on the sun among the other firebirds. You can't miss what you never had. Her family were strict segregationists and she is still learning how to accept others as equals," she said sweetly but with a pointed glare at Phaedra.

Phaedra crossed her arms and pouted.

She laughed. "Yep that's him. Best description of my brother I've ever heard. I still think it's weird that he's become all responsible adult now. It's just....kinda a big transition from how he was before." She shrugged, trying not to get all depressed again.

"So that's my class schedule sorted. I'll make sure to register that with the office before Monday. In the meantime," she started to say before she was interrupted by her stomach growling. "Er....time for dinner?" she asked hopefully.

"You think that's a big transition, you should see a civilization after a couple decades of evolution. One master and everyone is banging sticks together and the next everything is all plumbing and iron an... You get what I mean. People change. Sometimes for the better." He shrugs. Always the jokes with this one. At least that was probably a joke. He said it like one. But he says most things like that. He doesn't seem to be complaining, just relating things from another perspective.

He glances down slightly when her stomach growls, smirking with a chuckle. "Sounds like a plan. I'm afraid if we wander any longer we'll never find our way back out." He thinks for a moment as one of his lower hands brushes the wall to conjure arrows to the cafeteria. "You should let me cook for ya some time. I got pretty good at during my time. For myself at least. Never had anyone else to cook for before."

Andromeda laughed. "Now there's a brave offer, cooking for a dragon. Have you seen how much I can eat in a sitting? You'd have to make enough for an army and that would be about right for appetizers," she joked "At least those are the kinds of comments I've overheard in the cafeteria. Let's just say the lunch ladies are not gonna be happy to see me again," she said, shaking her head. "On the bright side, at least I'm not a picky eater. Anymore. I did go through a phase when I was a kid where I wouldn't eat orange food. Not really sure why. But it drove Mom totally nuts. Especially since Jiminy then decided he wouldn't eat green food and Taron didn't want to be left out so wouldn't eat red food. We had nothing but rice for like a month." ^.^

He doesn't seem to be rude intentionally. He's very sure of himself in a rather practiced way. As if he was expecting to be bombarded with pictures of himself to sign at any moment.

He's still listening as he pulls a small sort of wallet type thing from a chain on his hip. He starts to quite literally leaf through it as it seems to be filled with different types of fresh green leaves.

"Oh, cool. That must have been fun. Sorry I haven't heard any of your music. My village is really small and kinda insulated," she said with a shrug and an eyeroll. "I only learned drums because it was one of the few socially acceptable activities for a weather witch. They have soooo many rules. Anyhow, I'll be sure to look up some recordings and stuff now that I know your name. I love listening to new stuff. So many different styles of music to try, so little time to get to them all! Umm....at the risk of sounding even more stupid than usual....what's an autograph?"

Asha considers this carefully. "I don't know yet. I'm still learning. There wasn't really anything else to do in the tower and now that I'm here there's soooo much to do, and I keep trying new things, but there's so many of them. It gets a little overwhelming. Kinda like all these people. It seemed simple at first, but the more people I know the less simple it gets. There's so many different rules about what is or isn't appropriate," she said with a sigh and a grimace. "And I'm trying to learn what I need to catch up, but I only have so much room in my brain!"

"But I am definitely learning the layout of the basements," she said with a cheerful smile. "I keep falling through the floor when I get scared so I spend a lot of time looking for ways back up."
Kezzin smiles back at her, "It can be rather overwhelming! I couldn't really function well with all that was going on until I found this lovely instrument hiding in a shadowed corner of the library. That was when .. I .." What she said finally seeps through and he stops, puzzled, "Falling through the floor?"

"I have this power that I can't really control," she said with a shrug. "I go right through things. Including floors. Which is better than the time I fell through my chair and then resolidified with the chair leg in the middle of my leg. That hurt. And the nice ice cat person made me some special clothes that go all unsolid with me so at least I don't end up in the basement and naked. It's cold down there! Well, except the boiler room. It's pretty nice in there. But most of the basement is too cold and definitely not the place I want to be walking around naked," she said firmly.

"Definitely. If for no other reason than Jiminy has me coming out to the factory for a while for an 'orientation' for my new work study class that technically starts on Monday. But I'm hoping that we can spend some time together outside of training too. It is a weekend after all. I'd like to spend some of it with my boyfriend," she said with a shy smile, still getting used to using that title for Ardiente.
"That sounds nice. Anything in particular in mind, or should I come up with something?" he asks, and despite his apparent need to be going, he isn't really hurrying off quite yet.

"I don't have any particular plans, no. It's kind of hard to think with the inhibitor on honestly. So if you have something you want us to do, then that's great. Really I just want to spend some time together. At the risk of sounding disgustingly sappy, being with you makes me happy," she said, blushing and looking away.

He finds James in the research and devlopment building, surrounded by screens full of blueprints and crumpled sheets of paper. His hair was a mess from running his hands through it periodically in frustration, and the table behind him is littered with empty coffee pots.

"Good afternoon, lady Tyrrin. Would you care for some tea, or any other nourishment while you work?" he asks in Elven

Tyrrin flips easily into Elven, having lost none of her accent or diction in the months since she's used it. "Just tea please. Thank you Thel."

Despite her response, if Thel has been observant he will note that she could probably use to eat a little more than she has been this past week.

While tucking into her food in the traditional draconic fashion doesn't lend itself to good company either, but Vai manages to at least restrain herself enough to keep the conversation afloat. She even manages some sense of propriety, chewing and swallowing her bites before speaking. "It's still a bit weird, the whole egg thing. I know it shouldn't be, but sometimes I just get struck with the surrealness of it, y'know?"
Phaezeriel nods in agreement, ::I understand entirely. Sometimes the things we encounter in the course of our lives are so utterly alien to what we expect that even though we live through them, they seem to be impossible. Something along those line?::

Vai giggles at that. "That's probably a few more words than I would've used."

"Like having a demon for a friend, right? That'd be super weird." She says with a barely hidden smile.

Ardiente grins, already at maximum blush. "Yeah I think I can hear somebody wretching at all the sappiness. Sucks to be them, cause being with you makes me happy too."

"Okay I should go. he bends down and kisses her rosy cheek once more before transforming into his bird form and taking to the sky with a burst of fire for extra speed.

Raelle (accidently?) catches a little of the splash as Ardiente wings quickly towards Kuros.
