Did a search of the forums. Found a lot about building a Witcher in First Edition. Has anyone tried it in Second Edition?

Investigator with the Alchemical Methodology would replicate a good deal of the flavor, especially if they snagged a Magus Dedication. It gets you monster lore, it gets you fighting smart, it gives you potions and poisons, and it gets you a little bit of combat magic - that’s Geralt.
You can also replicate the niche, if not the flavor, with the Thaumaturge.

Witcher style characters can be done in a number of ways, and the level ability matching can take some build crafting.
Thematically, a Witcher character can be done with just a plain old Ranger, Investigator, Magus, Thaumaturge or Rogue. There are several Witcher schools who have different methods and techiques, so they can be captured in many ways.
The Alchemist dedication feels like a must no matter what, just to get that potiony vibe going on.
Then if you can get a few cantrips from somewhere, you've covered the mechanical tripod of the Witcher combat options.
My personal favorite option right now is a Thaumaturge with the Alchemist Dedication. Take the scroll chain and the odd cantrip from an ancestry if possible, and you have a very reasonable facsimile in both form and function.
But there are lots of options!
I'm Playing one right now in the CotCT pf2 conversion. I made a precision ranger with a bastard sword and a repeating heavy crosswbow, specced in the monster hunter feat chain, got the fighter free archetype for some good attack feats and gone for the alchemy crafting skill feat route.
If you want "signs" you may get the druid dedication (wisdom to cast) to grab some apt cantrips like produce flame (igni), gale blast (aard) or shield somehow (quen) although I chose the more martial route.
It feels great to play the monster hunter and the ranger is definetly your guy. Some argue that thaumaturge is good as well but it does not quite fill the fantasy of the witcher for me at least.

As a fun aside... back when I first pitched the alchemist to folks in the early days of 1st edition, there was some pushback about it being just an "NPC who sells PCs potions." I wrote up the first version of the class to show that it could be more, and the primary inspiration for it was the Witcher. The class went though plenty of changes since then, of course, but was popular enough to become one of the core classes for 2nd edition. You'll prolly want to lean in to a ranger archetype to get closer to the "monster hunting badass" trope though.
