The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

The mongolian barbecue is bd's Mongolian barbecue. Real clever name. :)
Indian could have been shalimar, Mahek, or that one tiny place whose name I always forget.
Good Italian would be Palio, gratzi, or paesanos. The other place in kerrytown is very nit good. Argieros s the name I think.

Hehe, I see, that’s no good.

Oh that’s right, the mongolian barbeque was called a mongolian barbeque, lol. That place was good, kinda pricey though if I remember right, ouch, my wallet.

Still don’t remember the Indian places name but I think the Italian place might have been Paesanos, does it have that “Old Italy” vibe to it when you come inside?

Very much so. It's the one on wastenaw. The other two are downtown. If it was the one with the creepy sculpture of the old chef dude in the entrance, that's Palio.

Ah, ok yeah, there was no creepy statue so that was prolly it.

Oh, one question real quick before we close out this topic and move back to game talk: I’ll prolly end up visiting Ann Arbor again at some point in the future, as a native Arborite are there any restaurants or stores you personally recommend as worth visiting? (I love good food of every type and for stores I like clothing, gaming, specialty shops, and anything else unique or fun.)

Well, the only gaming store is Get Your Game On over on State Street. Otherwise it's over to Fun4All in Ypsi. There is a good comic store downtown though. Vault of Midnight. The clothing stores I'm familiar with are for girls clothes so that won't help you. :)

For food, I highly recommend Mark's Carts, a collection of food carts on Washington Street. Unless you're visiting in the winter. They're not open then. Blue Nile. It's my favorite. I do love Ethiopian food. Fritas Batitos, which is cuban inspired burgers. Really good. And Zingerman's of course. The deli is down in Kerrytown and there's the Roadhouse on the west side. The roadhouse is very pricy but unbelievably good. I've always been partial to Pizza House, over by East Quad (on church street), but that's partially nostalgia since I've been going there since it actually was run out of a tiny little house. :)

Still not really able to post, but do you want to play out the fencing lesson or go on with the week Lyn, and sum it up?

I think with it being difficult for you to post right now, we can just sum up. That seems to be the easiest thing.

I might be able to sneak in a post or three tonight, but at my parents' place for evening, and so should spend some time with them :P

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

I'll wait to do Sadie's update for the week until later then. If you end with time we can play it out, if not then I can just summarize.

Awesome, thanks. Oh and it’s funny but I have actually eaten at a few of those places before, so I can agree that they are good. Pizza House particularly was a fun experience, good pizza and shakes(not bad cheese cake too if I recall correctly.) Had order out from there several times. I think my favorite was when my friends wanted me to get the “Godfather Burger.”(I think that is what it is called) a giant burger covered in toppings and…wait for it... fried eggs. I think they were trying to kill me but you know what? It was good!

Haven’t been to Blue Nile but that sounds right up my alley, I’ll have to keep that in the forefront of my mind when I get another chance to go to Michigan.

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

Heh. Fried eggs on burgers are pretty popular around these parts. Have you been to Blimpy Burger (over by South Quad) before? Not my thing since I like my arteries unclogged, but if grease is your thing then most people really like their burgers. :)

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

And now I feel bad for Sadie. Unfortunately it's her turn to be the plot b~+$~ for a bit... :(

....[Facepalm]

:(

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

She comes from a very small superstitious village, and this event has been coming for some time. Unfortunately the behind the scenes dice rolls did not fall her way. :(

I had a question, why didn't her village like her?

Female Half-elf Gestalt Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple9 // Rogue (Swashbuckler)8/Duelist7

I don't think Vai has been super angry... that might set her off.

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

Because of her powers. They're very superstitious and attack anyone who uses magic or psionic powers they cannot understand. Wizards are tolerated(barely) at a distance because they have to study for their magic. Clerics are tolerated because their magic is given to them by the gods. But spontaneous power users like Sadie and Dara are either driven out or killed. In this case the parents were also attacked both because they were protecting Dara and because with two power-using children people assumed they also had powers but had just been hiding them.

Hehe, no but since I enjoy being alive I might not seek that particular restaurant out=P.

Oh so my friend has gotten me some work now that I leave tomorrow for and I will prolly be gone 5-8 days, so I have to drop out a bit. Sorry, I know I just joined but when work calls I must go. =(

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

It's okay. Like I told you before, as long as you let me know ahead of time it's all good. We'll still be here when you get back. :)

Shadow Lodge

And probably still on the first part of the War! :)

So, have all the characters that need to described their week yet?

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

I think so.

Shadow Lodge

I will move things to Thursday night then, dinner time.

The following people cannot be a part of the War: My children, Gareth, and possibly Dara depending on his age.

You may continue the role-play now. :)

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

Dara is seven, and since the letter for Sadie didn't arrive at the school until Thursday wont' even be there before the War anyways....but wouldn't be allowed to participate even if he were on account of being much too young.

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

I think the easiest way to decide who is on what team would be to roll a d4

1=mountain
2=desert
3=island
4=forest

I'm going to be rolling a lot of d4s. :)

Belyu: 1d4 ⇒ 4 Forest
Michael: 1d4 ⇒ 4 Forest
Juco & Maru: 1d4 ⇒ 3 Island
Oniero: 1d4 ⇒ 1 Mountain
Anthony: 1d4 ⇒ 4 Forest

The two raised in forests end up in the Forest Kingdom... oh there will be much pain and cinematic battles to be had!

The Half-Alive Streets | Truth of the Seeker | The Sanctuary of Drowned Delight

The dragons aren't rolling right? Also, Vai should definitely be in the desert, what with blue dragons being desert dragons.

Either way:
Tyrrin: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Ehos: 1d4 ⇒ 4

Looks like Ehos and Anthony are together :D

Nevermind, read the post...

Vai: 1d4 ⇒ 3

1d4 ⇒ 3
Enre goes to the Island, if that is not weird, was hoping for the Mountian. Eir and Artōrius will just go with him, war games without him with those two will take on a whole new meaning.

Shadow Lodge

There is no reason why the dragons shouldn't roll that I can think of.

EDIT: Nevermind. Hehe.

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

Fieri: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Ephebe: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Jiminy: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Dennis: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Pan: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Spike: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Bonnie: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Jaiye: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Jeran : 1d4 ⇒ 1
Keme : 1d4 ⇒ 2
Kitty: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Nala : 1d4 ⇒ 3
Sadie: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Zren & Rikken: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Rintol: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Dino: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Jorge: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Borin: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Gill: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Albin: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Chet: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Nadya: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Jax: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Ursula: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Bradley: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Morrigan: 1d4 ⇒ 1

So many d4s.

Male Drow (noble) 14 Ranger

Krays: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Ryuzo: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Ghalen: 1d4 ⇒ 2

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

Mountain:
Jaiye, Jeran, Sadie, Dino, Borin, Ursula, Morrigan

Yeesh, cause having emotionally unstable Sadie on the same team as Ursula...this isn't going to go well.

Desert:
Fieri, Bonnie, Keme, Zren and Rikken, Jorge, Gill, Nadya, Jax

Good for Fi and bad for Gill. And they got Nadya and Jax so they may end up being the most organized team. Or the most annoyed.

Island:
Ephebe, Dennis, Spike, Kitty, Nala, Rintol, Albin, Chet

Well, Ephebe and Vai are on the same team. Kitty is kind of a natural for this. And Dennis gets to have his sidekick with him. :)

Forest:
Jiminy, Pan, Bradley

Well, the dryad ended up in the forest...how appropriate.

I warned you! :P

Female Half-elf Gestalt Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple9 // Rogue (Swashbuckler)8/Duelist7

I'm wondering if I should do Vai's rebuild before the War...

Also I have to stats out Ehos and Tyrrin...

Male Drow (noble) 14 Ranger

I don't see why the couples would be split up. Unless the idea of defection is encouraged :P

Shadow Lodge

Couples may not take the same side during a War.

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

The Headmaster did say it was random. :)

Don't know what the official position on trades beforehand might be. Early defections as it were. :P

Edit: ninja'd.

And what if a couple randomly ended up on the same team?

Hey guys, we had a very large tree branch come down in our back yard last night that ripped all the lines out of our power pole. As such, while we got power back within a few hours, we still have no internets since we have to wait 'til the tree guys can clear everything away so the cable company can get us back up and running. On top of this, I leave for a major trade show (Sweetwater's GearFest - kind of a junior NAMM, sort of) in a couple hours and won't be back until very late Saturday night. As such, I may not be able to post again until Sunday, and if I do, it'll just be short updates.

Just a heads-up.

Then it's not a problem, isn't it? Note that I also said there might be double-agents. It's not out of the question for someone to get the little mental *ping* telling them they have a different allegiance.

Shadow Lodge

Well, the branch thing really sucks. Have a good time at the show though!

Also, w/r/t the war thing, I'll just stay out of it. My upcoming absence is why I sent Nasima and Percy off to do errands for Daiyu. No one likes Yu so I figure he'll just hide under a rock or whatever until it's all over, anyway. :-p

As long as nobody was hurt. Hope the repairs are swift.

DRA, ugh that sucks. Hope they get through all the cleanup from that soon. Been there and it's no fun.
Have fun at the trade show and we won't expect posts from you before Sunday.

Warforged Engineer Alchemist 16/Armiger 16 Champion of Creation

Jim: 1d4 ⇒ 4

Forest it is.

DRA, that really sucks. Hope everything goes smoothly, both with repairs and your trade show.

The Half-Alive Streets | Truth of the Seeker | The Sanctuary of Drowned Delight

That sucks DRA. Motherflippin trees man.

Also... did the Headmaster steal a holodeck from Star Trek, or is this happening somewhere on Agartha?

....(-_-)

Is there anyone besides Phaezeriel who hasn't rolled yet?
