I'm still struggling through Mass Effect 1. Bleh. Not enjoying it so far at all. I really hope it gets better soon. :/
Mass Effect 1 sucked. Only reason I got it was because I started up 2 had no idea who anyone was and wanted to know who everyone was. In my opinion 2 and 3 are much better, well 3 until the ending.
That's what I keep hearing, which is why I've been slogging through 1. It's going back and forth between stupid bad combats and infodumps. :/
Meh, I'm pretty close to just giving up and starting 2.

Infiltrator. And after a bit of a rant last night, some of my problem may be because someone messed with some settings and didn't tell me. Hopefully this will solve my aiming issues.
Oh, I went solider, in the first one it was pretty much impossible to die if you maxed some stuff out, and I tried.

Not sure about the structures. There seemed to be some kind of structure in the forest kingdom because Shara was running inside it? And that's as much as I know.

Sp, we didn't really play any of Wyrd's first actual week at school, but he would have gained something of a reputation for having some strange, almost barbaric customs, very little tolerance for high school drama, and a rather profound temper, and for being a hermit when not in classes. this first week would not have been a good one for Wyrd.

There are enough students to pilot a navy, yes. The boats are charmed against storms and whirlpools, so they won't have to worry much about those hazards.
I kinda hope someone suggests the whole "fight" things. Tyrrin's got some mean abilities up her sleeve.

Well, much like a few weeks ago, my posting ability is gonna take a dip that may or may not last for a while. I've got a library card again, so if I wish to brave the heat of summer and I can check in more often than I did before. Just letting you guys know.
Lyn, I had no real plans for the War or what, exactly, the resources hinted at in Ryo's speech are. Like everything else, I had a really vague idea I was just going to build on later when it came up. :)
I'd imagine each kingdom has a capital city/fortress for shelter. We either were ported to just outside of it or near it. Perhaps the doors are sealed and must be given the names of the elected leaders to gain entrance (a way for Ryo to keep up on events).
There's prolly maps and war tables and such. If this is only supposed ot last a few days. If it's suppsoed to last till there is one decisive victor, then they may have to do their own recon...

I'm going to go ahead and lay my cards out here...my wife and I just found out that we've got to move. The problem is that we had next to no warning about it, and we didn't have any funds put away to cover it. Combined with my wife being on 'worker's comp' leave for her knee surgery (and not getting paid what she usually gets), we're in some deep bantha poodoo because of this...

We're heading into the more relaxed posting schedule that we always seem to hit this time of year, so definitely don't stress about timely posting. Obviously real life comes first and all of that. And good luck with the surprise move and all of the issues that go with it.

Honestly, with so many NPCs in play this is really difficult. I think a lot of it comes down to separating people into squads as things go on to make things more manageable. And maybe adding a few challenges from the environment itself.
When the concept was first suggested, I was imagining something similar to... a Civilization type army/resource management, with non-student NPC automatons for defense and such, with the students being the impetus behind any actual fighting. Ryo's detailing of resources aided in this picture of the War. I dunno how popular that idea sounds, but if that's the direction we want to take this, I can draft a quick set of game mechanics.
I was thinking each kingdom work out a plan of conquest, we discuss the merits, maybe to a few rolls of the dice, and handwave it.
I think adding mechanics is more trouble than it's worth. Maybe some opposed percentile rolls.

Canada day weekend combined with internet issues here.
My apologies for my silence yesterday. Ear infection + menieres+ bad timing (the menieres symptoms are always at their worst during a particular time of the month) meant I was not really able to be upright at all. Hard to type like that. Doing slightly better today. It's rare to have a spell that bad.
Anyhoo, to give myself something to keep my mind occupied and distracted during that awfulness, I went back and started reading the thread from the beginning. Interesting read. Some things are painful the second time through. Knowing Nala's history makes that locker room scene with EJ just painful to read rather than funny. Not that I didn't know her history before that, but I could ignore it more easily then since it wasn't known PC info. I did come up with a solution to the mountain kingdom problem with having a leader though. The druid, Kor, from the mastodon incident during the first Hunt. Anybody wanna take on an NPC? :)
