The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

I was going to post today for the couple of scenes still in progress, but then my grandma died. She's been sick for a while and it was not unexpected, but understandably my head is not in the game right now.

If you want to throw in a scene between Lang and Grim and/or Chao, as per our discussion go ahead and do it now. That way you've got something going on while I'm sorting myself out since I know I need to post in both currently running main plot scenes.

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

Sorry for your loss Lyn. Take all teh time you need. We'll be here for ya when you're ready.

Shadow Lodge

I know it's not much, but you have my sympathies, Lyn. Take your time getting back to us, we can wait. We're big boys and girls here.

Sometimes.

Female Timelady Nerd 3/Geek 2/Whovian 13/Writer 2

Sorry.

I have been fortunate enough (and young enough) to not have any beloved relatives die on me, but nonetheless, I hope you know that the information stored inside her brain has become heat energy, and well that is not exactly heaven, she still exists. She will become, eventually, a bit of warmth to help a hiker get through a blizzard, and the strength for a sapling to grow. She will live on in a thousand different ways.

Female Kobold

Condolences, Lynora. Best of luck to you all. And I hope this game rebounds!

Male I am a meat Popsicle

So sorry, Lyn! Take what time you need to get back to us.

Male Drow (noble) 14 Ranger

Lost both of my remaining grandparents over the last 2 years. I know the feels :(

Male More Human than Human Rogue 10 / Fighter 6 / Shadowdancer 10 / Void Incarnate 4

[Virtual hug]

Condolences, Lyn. I know for a fact that it isn't any easier knowing something like this is coming versus it being 'out of the blue'.

We're here for you if you need us, and we'll be here when you're ready to come back.

Reapling (scout form) rogue, black blooded oracle, gestalt lvl 16

We are here for ya Lyn, if you should need us.

Hey, sorry to hear that, Lyn. Hope everything start going better for you and yours.

Sorry I haven't been around guys. School has been crazy with exams in literally every class in two days.

Posting for Jasper now.

male human monk 16

I think that Lang's ceremony scene is just gonna be narrated to an end. I am not sure if others involved are even interested.

not much activity there not even a post of interest or a "hey what's up type thing."

I'm sorry. I'm honselty just happy I can get on the boards at all. I've read very little and posted less. >_<

i know magic... i sometimes blame myself i wasn't sure about the story being interesting enough.

also sorry you had to leave my game.

Male Human-Reaper/obitu Death Mage 11/oracle 1/grim reaper 10

Sorry it's mostly just we have two options that I see
Go along with the ceremony
And
Be an a$!#@+$.

But, for the love of the flying spaghetti monster, do NOT take children to see this movie!!

agreed on both parts

Sorry about the cursing in gameplay
Emotions are getting heated and poor Dave's more than a tad confused.

Male Drow (noble) 14 Ranger

Dave's just bein' Dave. :)

Shadow Lodge

Male. Vaguely humanoid Ninja 3/Bard 1/Ranger 2/Scholar 1

I realize this, that's why I had him say it
The reason I'm apologizing is because I'm not Dave:D
Also because of community guidelines.

I said it on purpose to get his attention anyway.

I speak Sirrocan, which is actually just Al-Behd. For those who don't want to look it up, the alphabet is in Headmaster Rio's profile.

Male I am a meat Popsicle

I will be out of town all weekend. I will be back to posting on Sunday night.

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

Hey all, just wanted to ask some of you awesome folk to possibly come lend your badass creation skills in helping me create some epic level villains for my real life table top game:

Villains for hire!

Shadow Lodge

Fun Fact: Human Bards and Wizards are now probably the ultimate skill characters. Why? Comprehensive Education(which replaces Skilled) gives a bonus to all skill checks. The bonus is equal to the number of Knowledge skills you have as class skills from your classes...

Reapling (scout form) rogue, black blooded oracle, gestalt lvl 16

Just take a level in aristocrat and you get all knowledge skills as class skills.

Shadow Lodge

Or take a level in bard and just be that much better than an Aristocrat, since you can make all Knowledge checks at +10 in addition to your ability score modifier. Without ranks.

Always were, really.

daaaaaamn that's strong

it only give a +1 to knowledge skills, not all skill checks.

Also Hero Lab does not calculate a +1 for each knowledge skill you have as a class skill.

Shadow Lodge

"They gain all Knowledge skills as class skills, and they gain a +1 racial bonus on skill checks for each Knowledge skill that they gain as a class skill from their class levels. This racial trait replaces skilled."

1) By the ability itself, it's all skill checks.
2) HeroLab is not a rules source.

Reapling (scout form) rogue, black blooded oracle, gestalt lvl 16

Sounds to me like poor wording. Seems like the intent is to apply a bonus only to knowledge skills they normally get as class skills, but the writing is poor leaving it to apply to all skills as a pure technicality.

Investigator is still skill monkiest skill monkey ever.

All knowledge skills class skills (by level 4 or 5)
Add a d6 or d8 to every knowledge skill roll, costs nothing.
Can increase which skills get inspiration at no cost with talents.
etc.

My silence ended up extending longer than intended, mostly due to the site being down or too slow to post to every time I've tried it in the last few days. Gonna try to get a couple of posts up before heading out on the long drive up north for grandma's funeral tomorrow. Here's hoping it doesn't crash again before I get the chance. :)

Normally, I would be frustrated and annoyed with the way the site's been acting.

But it's due to how insanely successful their Humble Bundle has been, so while it's annoying, I don't mind nearly as much as if it were just some random nonsense slowing it down.

Male I am a meat Popsicle

I cannot agree strongly enough, monkey

The site issues were not a bother for me, I can't access at work and I decided to work a few extra hours anyway.

Ok I have a small dilemma... not sure if I should go to this convention...

it is only about an hour and a half drive from my house.

the guest list includes:

Peter Davidson: the 5th Doctor
Colin Baker: the 6th doctor
6th Doctor’s Companion Peri: Nicola Bryant
2nd Doctor’s Companion Jamie: Frazer Hines
7th Doctor Companion Ace: Sophie (Aldred) Henderson
2nd Doctor’s Companion Zoe: Wendy Padbury
2nd Doctor’s Companion Victoria: Deborah Watling
1st/2nd Doctor Companion “Polly”: Anneke Wills
Davros: Terry Molloy

Or

another Con in Washington DC
Guest include:
Adam West
Burt Ward
John Barrowman (Captain Jack Harkness)
Peter Capaldi (current doctor)

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

Which cons are these? Curious.

Shadow Lodge

Male. Vaguely humanoid Ninja 3/Bard 1/Ranger 2/Scholar 1

Ooh tough call

To me it just seems like the question of whether you like old or new series better.

Also, because I'm a miser, which would cost you less?

the first is regeneration

the second:

Awesome-con

The first is almost definitely cheaper

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

Um. They appear to be different months, let alone different weekends.

Can you not go to both?

Not enough money

the hotels in DC can be outrageous in price.

Plus my son is a classic DR Who fan

I remember we sat up for two hours almost every night watching every single classic episode in order. beginning to end.

Speaking from personal experience....NOPE.

;P

Shadow Lodge

Male. Vaguely humanoid Ninja 3/Bard 1/Ranger 2/Scholar 1

How would it not help?
My cat doesn't attack computers
none of them ever had and I've had about five or six over the years, and three dogs (two of which are still alive, but one is on it's metaphorical last legs)

Also I'm going to say actually really glad Dave got hit with a calm emotions spell in gameplay, I'm just going to say he fails his save and you succeeded in overcoming his SR, because that opens up some options
Going to take a bit of time to think on the response for Dave.

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

Is there a 'Summon FCD' spell somebody could cast? I needz him!! lol
