Lol it is "Ji'Emjae"
And I thought Implanted Ioun stones essentially become apart of the character (kind of like Permanency) and stack, I guess I need to change some stuff around, then.
How did you gt Implanted Ioun stones? I thought the rules for those are outside of the approved books.

It doesn't matter any more, he left the game I believe.

And here I was hoping that if I won my match I would be able to bash in his Dog-Lizard Face.

Sorry for the wait. I'm going to attempt to get caught up on everything today. Will you be around much today/tomorrow Please Don't Kill Me?
Hanzou - if you don't mind me asking, how did you get a +20 to your initative roll? I can only account for +16 of it. (+5 Dex, +2 trait, +4 feat, +5 insight)
Not that it matters either way, since even a 27 would beat a 15.

I think since we are down to just a few people that I want to switch to using D20pro. It will allow the battles to happen in an hour or less. Go checkout the software. Me or CP can give you a quick class on it to show you how it works. I'll be adding your characters to it this weekend. I hope to have everyone setup by tuesday so we can have the next bouts wednesday and the final battle thursday. Let me know what you think and if you will be available

That would do it. Thanks!

Erm, honestly... I might need to bow out if that's the case. I've got a fair amount of stuff going on, so I don't know if I'd be able to keep the date free.
You can tentatively consider me possibly available, but again, I may not be able to make that work. If that happens, you can just skip over me.

I approve of the idea (in theory), but I reiterate that this is not the type of thing which is the standard for these boards, and should have been explicitly mentioned in the recruiting posts. Obviously, you can't change them, and you probably didn't expect to be doing it this way, but something to keep in mind for the next arena (or for anyone taking ideas from this one).
That being said, I can't do anything resembling a concerted block of evening time on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Fridays, and Wednesdays and Thursdays I'm not free until 10pm or so (EST), at which point I only have 2-3 hours before I need to go to bed, and other things that need to get done in that time as well. So I can make it if it's late enough on those two days, but it may not be able to have my full attention. Saturday I'm not going to be available until after 6 or 7, and Sunday I have no idea at all. This is why Play-by-post, where people just trade off posting whenever works for them, is much more feasible for me than online-tabletop.
As for using d20 pro - I can import my character from Hero Lab easily (or so I'm led to believe), if you want to save the effort of recreating him. But will you have enough licenses for everyone to be able to connect?

Questions...
Sir Oktain threw in the towel? Or did he get called on time?
Are we not being required to post our actions in the threads?
they got called on time. Sir Oktain, marcus & Nico among others never responded to my pms so i have to assume they are not going to make the rest of this tourney. I'm just going to run it with the 6 people left then then work out how the 3 finalist will battle it out.

I am making some changes to the line-ups for the next match.
SInce we had people drop out and others that where no shows what will happen is that anyone that had a drop out is considered to have a bye. ( I'll post who gets a bye. Byes means an automatic win and you loose no resources for that round. For the 2nd round Gorik and Hustar will get byes which will let them win the second round automatically and move on to the third round. that will leave everyone with even resources for the third round.
i'll post a break down on my site

I think this is definitely the best way to handle it. That being said, I'm a little disappointed that I don't have any advantage because I won my fight with only burning two hour+ potions and 3/50 charges of my healing wand.
I'm glad it breaks down so nicely, though.

Darkwolf117 |

I'll check what works and what doesn't for me but I don't really have concrete times. It's kind of just the combination of holiday arrangements and regular stuff will be eating up most of my time. So, while I probably would be able to put a couple posts up on any given day, I'm not sure I'll be able to specify an exact time to run things through.
Like I said though, I'll check and see when I'm free. And if it doesn't work out, I won't mind if I need to get dropped from the roster.

Perfect Tommy |

I too would like to thank everyone that hung in there.
I think for the second rounds, the way to pair up would be to match players that can find a common slot.
So if Darkwind and Marcus can both play friday around 5pm .. make that the time of the match.
If player z and player a.. can match on Thursday - make that the time of their match.
And, as always, I am happy and willing to give people face time on d20 pro- altho no experience is necessary.
Chaiboy and I believe this will be a vast improvement over pbp

Setting the Stage |

I am not pointing fingers at all. I just notice how much more panicked people are when they can't see anything really have to guess at where you could be.
Well keep in mind that you will all have 10 rounds to walk up the stairs so that should be enough to hit yourselves with healing wands/potions etc before the next battle. so you will come into the next bout with some stuff ready.

Perfect Tommy |

Yeah, not a fan of this. Might be because I thought I was facing one person and instead just got thrown against Meredith or a combination of that fact with the fact that she has all of her spells back.
Wait.. I haven't heard that anyone got their spells back, and even as a spellcaster I think this isn't appropriate.
What I read is that people that had a real fight get a bye in the second round - so that resource consumption should even out.
So everyone still has consumed their potions, arrows, spells, and duration of buffs.
I'll ask Chaiboy to confirm.

Perfect Tommy |

Right, the competition was billed as no rest, no reset and I think its incumbent to live up to this.
Now Chaiboy is clearly trying to be fair, when some opponents such as myself did not have to fight an opponent. So give him credit for that.
However, I think the more fair method is to just try to ensure that each player fights the same number of matches.
Before the spell casters protest, I would note that a reduction in the total number of matches benefits them far more than straight melee fighters.

Urdavan Stonefist |

I based that off what the Campaign Info tab says.
It's not that Merideth got her spells back, it's that she never used them in the first place. Any match which was forfeited effectively didn't happen.

Hanzou |

Hanzou wrote:I based that off what the Campaign Info tab says. It's not that Merideth got her spells back, it's that she never used them in the first place. Any match which was forfeited effectively didn't happen.
There were rules for forfeiting part way through the match. And as it was said, this was also meant to be a test of endurance and resource management. Either way we'll see how it goes. Should be an interesting match.

Setting the Stage |

reset means not getting your spells, ammo back after every fight. it has nothing to do with people leaving a fight in the middle. The best thing to do is to void the fight and let them all start in second round as if the first never happened.
The way i am doing it everyone fights two matches to reach the finale. If we left meredith and Urdavan with half matches then they would both have ended up with 2 1/2 fights. For magic users this can really hurt.

the forfeit rules were that someone say they gave up/ surrendered. leaving the match ahead of time isn't the same thing. Unless everyone feels otherwise. Let me know how you feel.
Either way i have to work out who will be counted as fighting and get a bye for second round and who counts as having a bye the first round and fight in the second.

Setting the Stage |

Will post more tonight once i have more information. Also how many people are playing the next round? I don't want to schedule people who don't have the time. I know Darkwolf has time issues but I haven't seen hustar posting so before i post a new line-up will have to make sure people are in and what times they can play. It will take about an hour in D20pro so it should be a quick battle compared to the previous rounds.
