I would be totally down with that.

I did have the Sylph race boon, too, but wasn't planning to use it here.

I was planning on my wizard because I really like the backstory and RP on this character, but will play my dwarf stonelord if really needed.

We could also make an all-sylph party and call ourselves "the air-heads"... XD

I think we've figured it out, guys. Yay! I thought for a bit it might not happen.

One last bossy suggestion: let's divide into separate threads at this point. I'd suggest that since FiddlersGreen created this thread and he's with the Classic group, that one of you Core lads open a new thread and we get started on both fronts! :)

Here's a thread for CORE

Liberty's Edge

I am honestly looking forward to playing my psychotic gnome dragon disciple. I would love to have a crazy ass elemental super group too though. I'd be all conflicted, but I guess it helps that I don't have any boons. Haha.

It'll take me a long time to gather the necessary boons anyway. XD

For present purposes, I've got the gameplay and discusson threads set up, whenever our first steps GM is ready.

For the core guys, I've started a thread here. Other than this, I can add that I have a few options on characters but all will have had one adventure under their belt. If we want to generate all new characters, that will take me a while to get to as I can't crank them out as easily as some can, and I don't really "feel" the pregens!

FiddlersGreen,
Do you have any affiliation to the U.S. Cavalry? I do, just wondering with your gamer tag...

Heh, nah, it's a reference to the old sailor's legend that I read about as a kid.

But I believe the US Cavalry later referenced that same legend in a poem of the same name, and that poem became a significant part of their heritage. =)

For Classic group, I'm hoping to get some info up by Tuesday for First Steps. Can everyone let me know the character you are planning on playing?

Liberty's Edge

Steven Evil here.

All elemental-blooded party! Rawr!

I am now vaguely tempted to see if I can find a race boon for each different elemental race and gather a party of one of each - Sylph, Ifrit, Oread and Undine, and then GM under the alias of "Captain Planet". XD

lol then you can get the fifth depending on if you can get someone to burn all 4 boons to unlock 'that' race.

OMG. Captain Planet is a Suli. It all makes sense now! XD

Note that Both RyanH and Mike have Core Threads up. Do we have two Core Groups?

I think it's more that two people took it upon themselves to make a thread. XD

Heh ... let's see who's more popular!

Let's all hop over to Mike Garlington's thread ...

Liberty's Edge

Going by what has already been posted:

Pathetic Wretch – wizard or paladin
Fiddlers Green – sylph rogue
Steven Evil – gnome sorcerer
Crash Wheeler - nagaji druid, sylph wizard, or kitsune bard
Bad Slacker - bard

Depending on how/what Bad slacker and Pathetic Wretch builds will tell me what I should put forward.

The gameplay thread is up and running! Please head over and we'll get started with First Steps as soon as everyone checks in.

I would prefer to play my wizard, but would play the paladin if needed. (I'm guessing that Steven Evil's sorcerer will end up being a little more melee or switch-hitter than a straight sorcerer if he's going dragon disciple, no?)

I'm also wondering if we should recruit one more player and have 5 instead of 4 players. Having had characters die before even in fairly optimal parties, I think it might not be wise, and would help us keep up the pace, not have as many scenarios to DM ourselves, and help our longevity.

Thoughts?

Dark Archive

I'll go ahead and post the wizard I was wanting to play (but won't be in First Steps right now).

Liberty's Edge

Yeah, I'm looking at turning into a gishy type around level 7 or 8, up until then he's going to mostly be a blaster.

That being said, if there are utility spell gaps to be filled in the magic department, I am willing to pick them up.

Everyone please check in on the Gameplay as your characters are ready so that I'll know who we're missing.

Grand Lodge

Crashwheeler here. Decided to go with my naga aspirant since it looked like we might be low on frontliners. Nago comes with his crocodile companion, Nagi.

Solid choice...animal companion will help immensely.

I should also note my wizard is a necromancer, so hopefully will be able to pick up some meat shields to help on occasion (though they don't carry over between adventures, it seems there are always undead around).

Grand Lodge

Nago and Nagi are both frontliners while Nago can heal (though not primarily). Btw, this is my first time using an animal companion so if I do something wrong, let me know.

One thing alot of animal-companion users forget is that you actually need to use handle animal to direct your animal to change its current instructions (or "trick"). One of my old GMs had me make a table tent stating what my animal companion's current order was. I eventually got around it through an item that allowed me to speak with it.

Anyone opposed if I recruit one more to Classic so we have 5 players? Or does anyone have a friend to invite?

Liberty's Edge

I am ok with it. That's less on us in the GM side of things.

Liberty's Edge

I'm fine with it. What class type is needed still?

Liberty's Edge

A frontliner/healer perhaps? Maybe a warpriest or oracle?

We have:
I aim to help with both semi-frontlining and arcane. Infernal healing and UMD will help out a little in the way of pinch healing.

Nagi looks like he'll be doing the same as a Druid.

Then we have a wizard, which is pretty self explanatory.

Then we have a sylph rogue, for skilled.

A bard to double up on skilled and pinch healing.

So, it looks like someone with a little better healing ability plus frontline hardiness would do us some good.

Sylph rogue should actually be regarded more as a Sylph monk. Will not be very skilled, but will be very much a front-liner.

A better healer is always appreciated. =)

Grand Lodge

Are you still looking for a player/GM?

Looks like Baerlie may have beat me to it, but I would be interested in this if another opportunity became available. It sounds like a fun approach. I would probably be bringing a warpriest sort of character to the party.

We are still looking for one more. I wish we could take both! Baerlie, do you know what you would be playing?

Grand Lodge

I would consider an oracle or warpreast like suggested above. But if Fuzzfoot wants to join it's fine for me.

I wish we could have both, but with this being PFS, we'd better go with first to sign up.

Baerlie, feel free to check in on the Gameplay thread. Before we run Season 4, we are planning to go through First Steps, Confirmation, and then Wounded Wisp, then we'll get to the season.

Pathetic Wretch – human wizard
Fiddlers Green – sylph rogue
Steven Evil – gnome sorcerer (dragon disciple)
Crash Wheeler - nagaji druid
Bad Slacker - bard
Baerlie - warpriest

Looks like we have our party! We will always have one of us sitting out, of course, but I think we've got our bases covered. As soon as everyone has checked in with their character, we'll kick off! :)

Definitely no hurt feelings here - That's the call I would make too. Have fun!

Looks like you might have found a spot with the Core group. Good luck to you, Fuzzfoot!
