Yep, at the moment we only have one other player, and it looks like some of the others aren't even active on the boards any more, so we may need to recruit some fresh faces.
Nice to see you again, Chang. I'll have to brush up on the rules and how I made this character. I'm not opposed to making another character if need be, however.
Speaking of the rules, it looks like Chaosium replaced the 6th edition quick start with the one from 7th edition, which we won't be using. I have a copy of the 6th edition quickstart saved somewhere on my hard drive, so I'll try to upload it somewhere later today for anyone who needs it.
The new recruitment thread is up, along with a link to the quickstart rules. If either of you want to remake your character feel free, otherwise you're fine to stick with Chang and Rusty.
I might remake Rusty a bit, or at least try to remember how I made him the way he is. Not sure yet if I should put more points into art/psychology. What's an alienist in terms of the mythos? Someone who studies the occult?
Ahh, I see. I knew that was true but I wondered if it meant something else because I know Alienist was a D&D class that dealt with the mythos.
I might reroll for my stats and my subsequent skills. My attributes are kind of low (3 of them below average). I also don't have any combat skills but I might pick them up along with more psychotherapy, but I'll wait until we have others onboard to see if any skills need to be covered more.
And a mortician in this time period would more properly be known as an Undertaker. Sounds more creepy that way, but Homeless Undertaker doesn't seem as catchy. Hmm.
Unless you feel having combat skills essential to the character, I wouldn't really worry about it, as this adventure is much heavier on the roleplay side.
Hmm... Not that big a change and the hit on my intelligence hurts. I think I'll stick with my current stats but I'll just move some of my skills around. I'll also make Rusty a bit older, at late 30's.
Recruitment is going a little slowly right now, but I tried subtly inserting a not-so-subtle advertisement into a submission for a similarly themed game, so hopefully we'll see some results soon.
