I’m planning on running a new pbp, a nWoD game looking for about 5 players. I thinking a mortals game, no splats to begin with (though there may be opportunities for that later on). Basic idea is that you are all a squad of SAS commandos, really top men like the squad from the first Predator movie. So character creation will be normal standard character + the following for free:
Strength 3, dexterity 3, stamina 3, brawl 3, firearms 3, weaponry 3, status (military) 2, one fighting style of your choice at 5 and 20 dots worth in military equipment (no item being worth more than 3 dots)
The game will be set in a small tropical island in the pacific, were you’ve been sent to take out the island’s dictator.
Anyone interested just post bellow!

Wow, that's hardcore. I don't think I've every played a normal WoD human with that kind of punch... count me in!
I'd like to build the signals troop, a Macguyver sort of guy who can get us past the security systems and hack into any computers we might come across.
Is everything in the armory book fair game as long as it is below 3 dots? There's no entry for "military combat armor", our options seem to be either bulletproof vest + 6 accessories (15 dots total) or full riot gear (not bulletproof until 4 dots). A 3 dot limit also rules out common squad-level automatic weapons, is that deliberate?

well the items is to keep you off the really big stuff, so not really high quality gear but yes to bulletproof vest. also at 3 dots you can get standard assult rifles, just not the really shiny stuff, it is a deliberate thing. But you can spend your normal merit points to increase your equipment rating, if you wish.

I'd be interested in giving this a shot if you're still planning on running it. As far as a character idea I was thinking one of two routes.
The first is the idea of the team sniper, quiet and efficient, possibly like the Billy character from Predator in how he acts personality and knowledge wise.
The other would be the loud Jesse Ventura-esque heavy weapons grunt who just wins by overwhelming firepower and personality.
I'll start looking the books over. Question, when you say a mortals game are you talking about using the core World of Darkness book or the Hunter core book? Also, regarding the no splat books, would it be possible to use the Armory books as far as equipment selection? I have almost all of the nWoD books and I totally understand the overwhelmingness of them all so if not that's cool.

A Monday start works for me. I'm in the UK (GMT), so some of my posts may come in at odd times. I'll draft out a character history over the weekend. I invested in a third dot of military status- what would be an appropriate rank? Senior enlisted (warrant officer?) or Mid-level officer (wing commander/squadron leader) seem like they would fit.
