Kloh Ryn Pul |
Kloh, also thinking aloud continues with the discussion, Jetpacks are flashier...probably not as effecient....guess we'll ahve to see what they have available and go from there.
The nautolan looks around for a display or com that will direct him to the droid merchant.
Damn this place is huge.
Venkru Vong |
"Better keep an eye on these technicians, you take away their hammers and mallets and they start whacking things with the spanners."
Looks around for a tech person who might know something, avoiding the ones whose uniforms are spotless.
"Just wait Kloh til I get a flamethrower put into my armor, maybe get one for the droid as well, maybe get a two for one deal."
Laughs.....
Jaira Kizur |
my post got ate and Ive been waiting on updates to check because Im busy. :( sorry.
@Venkru,
"I dont have anything against jetpacks. They just dont seem to be the best choice. Particularly for droids with such limited space, and you cant just tack it on the outside either as that would prevent the droid from rolling into a ball."
@Kloh,
"Spares are good, but lets not go overboard either. The inertial compensator is pretty solid, and even if it wasnt, if it blew, it is not like any of us would survive to replace the componants. This ship's intertial compensator only needs two intertial amps to begin with, so a pair of spares should be enough."
Kloh Ryn Pul |
Kloh barely held a belly aching laugh in check and looked at his pal and slowly blinked his double lidded eyes.
By the Tides Venkru! You cant be serious. Id say they ruin every trip but Jaira has a valid point. We should save some creds for other things. How are we on weaponry? We all have our personal gear but maybe we should stock up on some heat.
Jaira Kizur |
"My 13mm ship to ship dogfighting lasers, and 2 remaining ship to ship concussion missiles, beg to differ. Plus whatever this ship has." Jaira replies with complete dismissal of Venkrus "big gun."
didnt think of that response until now, though Hadnt said anything about firepower previously ( I was responding to money and women comment) but Ill roll with it
Kloh Ryn Pul |
I think he was responding to Kloh's comment.
Put that thing away Venkru. Haven't you heard that its not the size of the ship in the dogfight but how you cruise through atmosphere that matters?...i think thats how it goes anyways...
Kloh looked over the R2 units in the shop with a discerning eye and got out his Diagnostic set to make sure they didnt get stuck with a lemon.
What do you guys think of Sleen? Looks like he's the silent type.
Venkru Vong |
Venkru looks around in feigned alarm....
"And maybe the sneaky type as well!"
Venkru takes the built in swivel and pivot point and puts the gun back into the area behind his back and under his cloak.
The built in sling/that holds part of the weight and allows swivel is how I imagine the custom +1/-1 is done...
Jaira Kizur |
"Im not sure about Sleen, but I dont like the idea of being given help at this late date. We will just have to call him new to our crew and that is gonna make any pirates we meet wary. Usually crews only bring on friends or family, people they are already comfortable with and know well." Jaira looks doubtful.
Kloh Ryn Pul |
After finding an R2 in decent to prime shape and forking over the credits for it; Kloh hopped back in to the conversation that he started.
Cousins? Man, I doubt he goes for that. Do you guys get the significance of him being Shorn? Slack Tides and Rip Currents! That dude is as bad as they come. Look, we need to get close to him so we all come off as some sort of happy go lucky pirates right? So? Lets get him drunk. We'll either end up having to kill him or be cool as interjectors afterwards.
The Nautolan ordered the R2 unit to follow them and continued on.
And then we cn look into those droideka targeting systems.
Venkru Vong |
"Sleen, We were just wondering where you were! So seems like we intend to spend some time fixing up this bucket of bolts, but after that we thought about hitting a bar...and wanted you to come also."
Venkru wonders about shorn and what could have been shorn from Sleen to make him ill tempered...he made a mental note to share the joke with Kloh later on......
Kloh Ryn Pul |
Hey Sleen, you're just in time.
Kloh handed the merchant his cred chip and watched carefully to make sure he wasn't ripped off. Content with the transaction he nodded a thanks to the man and bid the R2 unit to follow.
Looks like we're settled up. I'm sure there's no end of seedy, dive joints on this rock. Just pick a direction and we'll run into one.
Kloh Ryn Pul |
Kloh was chorting with laughter and smacking Venkru and Sleen on the back when they finally stumbled back to the ship.
Typhoons and Whirlpools now that was a good time fellas.! I cant believe Venkru stayed on that mechanical mynock for so long and kept drinking while he did! And Sleen! The women love you man. Oh snap! You missed it Jaira.
The Nautolan kept laughing and talking to himself as he made his way to his room to sleep off the night's events.
Sleen Farro |
Sleen laughs with the others as they climb the gangplank together, leaning on one another for support. Waving his goodnights to the rest he retires to his berth.
A good bunch , those two. I could tell Kloh was dying to ask about my Shorning; glad he didn't press the issue. It'll all come out someday, I guess, can't escape the past..."
Venkru Vong |
Venkru's system takes the toxins out and his body heals way ahead of anyone else, so he wakes first thing in the morning and asks his female to show him how she uses her spear, though he clarifies that he does not mean on him.
He them goes and inspects the ship while Kloh and the others are sleeping it off..
Eventually he expects even Kloh to make an appearance at the ship and becomes impatient with waiting around.
Jaira Kizur |
By the time Venkru actually gets to inspect the ship, Jaira had woken (she was sober after all) and is putting the finishing touches on something in the floor by the ramp.
"Hey Venkru, check out this little toy I made. Dont tell the newbie, I dont trust him yet."
She gets up and grabs an empty dirnk can and sets it on the deck in front of the ramp, then opens the door (I presume the ramp is left down normally). She walks back and kicks the wall then again after a moment. The can crumples then goes flying out the ramp.
"Probably wont send people flying like that, I only used the grav plating we already had, so it isnt that strong, but I hope it will at least knock someone prone and keep them there. That is the hope anyway. Want to test it?" She kicks the wall again and goes to pick up the can to throw it away.
Obviously the GM will have to decide how effective it is, hopefully it does something to people but regular grav plating isnt made to be very strong.
Kloh Ryn Pul |
Coming from a race of water breathers; Kloh had no problems digesting large amounts of any liquid so he was feeling pretty good after a morning romp with his slaves and then a healthy breakfast of salted carbs and gelatinous aminos. He speculated on the new addition to their crew and wondered again what had happened for the fellow Nautolan to have been Shorned...still, its his business and I wont pry...the Tides know we've all done things we arent proud of to get ahead... He dismissed the thoughts for another time and had Nael and Yayoi gather his and their things.
He and his new entourage walked up as Jaira was demonstrating their new trash ejector.
Very nice Jaira. That will certainly help if anyone desides to launch cans at us.
He finished with a chuckle and a mischevious smile.
Everyone here and ready to ship out?
Venkru Vong |
Venkru smiles at the ejector that Jaria has created, though her thoughts and his diverge greatly....
"If the idea is an ejector, then I know where this pup is going to do his business, but it looks more like a good way to have some cover from incoming fire, when we are un-assing or boarding the ship!"
Venkru sees it as pop-up cover......
Shanosuke |
Jaira, if you could roll a repair skill, your result will determine the CMB bonus of the ejector. For every five points you get the ejector will add a plus one to its CMB until you decide to upgrade it.
A device like that should cost to install and I do not recall seeing where you purchased it. So you can make it from scrap which is going to cost 1000 - Repair score/5 Rounded up X 100.
It will be a swift action to activate it and it will effect the ramp.
Now, I have decided that as soon as sleen posts, I am going to do the god hand of motivation and "push" you all and your ship out into space whether you want to or not. I am anxious to get this game back going and to do that I need you guys to get this mission going.
I apologize if you had expected anything from me and I not have given it but I wholesomely expected you guys to go. I DO apologize for my delay in the droid field. I am juggling rules around right now four five different game engines at once so I am a bit absent minded at the moment with rules.
Anyways, I am ready when you guys are.
Sleen Farro |
Sleen walks out of his berth, rubbing his eyes but remarkably unaffected by the wild night previous. Hitching up his belt, he joins the others watching Jaira's jury-rigged ejector.
Staring with bemusement, he says "Neat contraption, could come in handy if we're being boarded...or a game of "how far will it fly"."
"I'm done with this station, how about we get goin'"
Venkru Vong |
Venkru enters the ship and goes to the gunnery station, checking over the straps and controls, he even checks the system to make sure it comes on......
"Might as well get going! Kloh and Jaria figure out who is piloting and run the checks for our jump and we can go! In fact run the navigation on the return jaunt also."
Kloh Ryn Pul |
Kloh's chuckle outside the ship rolled right into a gurgling laugh at both Sleen's joke and Venkru's idea of how astrogation worked. He directed Yayoi on where to stow all the gear and lead Nael down towards the cockpit.
Assuming from her earlier description that she has Starship Operation.
Settling into his seat, Kloh began flicking switches to bring everything online. The Nautolan ran a thorough diagnostics while everyone else got settled in and gear stowed.
Comp Use: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27
He keyed the comms throughout the ship.
Ladies and Gentlemen we are a go on all ships systems. Feel free to double check your station. As soon as we get a green light from control we'll be taking off.
Shanosuke |
Sorry for the delay. Yesterday turned out to be a tougher day at work than usual. Working in retail during this season will do that to you. I may be tired a lot for the rest of the season. Anyways I will now move us along.
You all board the ship and take your stations. You power on the vessel and it comes to life around you. The journey to Genosis has begun. You (Someone) pilot the ship out of the hanger and out into open space.
The trip takes several hours but there is a hyperspace route that shortens the time it takes to get there. You all spend your time fulfilling idle activities by either reading, doing some minor tune ups on the ship or droids, calibrating the guns over and over again, or spending special time with the company you brought on board.
When the long trip is over you come out of hyperspace in the orbit of the red planet Genosis. This planet is famous as the site of the first battle of the Clone Wars that started the whole galactic demise.
Now it is time for you to find these pirates and get them to reveal what they can about Nym so you can finish the man off once and for all.
