That happens to me all the time. The "hide thread" button can be a bit wonky, especially if you are hiding threads while in the Focus view. I frequently find that when I click the hide button, it applies to some other thread than the one I intended.

I hide threads from the bottom up. If you hide top down, you still see a shadow of the one hidden, but the next hide button down doesn't count the shadow thread, i.e., it is for the thread TWO down, not the actual next thread. This is a known problem and not fixed yet. Hiding bottom-up works, though.

2 - blur, invisibility
Negative reaction doesn't do what I thought it did. Swapped it out for another spell.

Would throwing the Thunderstone count as an attack, even if you're not targeting a person?
Good question. In my home game, it's usually only considered an attack if it's thrown at a person, or if it's a trick shot of some kind. In this case, Owen's just wanting it to go in a general "over there, but not close enough to affect me" direction.
What do you think, Tordek?

Yeah, it's one of those tricky corner case situations when it could easily go either way. I'm not entirely sure how I'd rule it, although like you I'd probably end up erring on the side of the PCs.

Given the proximity that Owen through it, in the area right next to the lookout, and since it does have an effect on him, I do consider it an attack, therefore, Owen is now visible. Had Owen thrown it at the opposite end of the alley as a means of drawing the lookout away from his current position, I wouldn't call it an attack.

Well that completely bones my entire plan. I should have asked about this first. Oh well.

I'm trying something new with the map. Images
Positive
Personalizes the map by showing the character images instead of generic letters.
Negative
I had to enlarge my squares to make it easier to see the images since Google docs doesn't zoom. With this large map, it means more scrolling and less seeing the big picture.
What are your thoughts? Do like the new images, or prefer the old way?

Hmm. Do we think obscuring mist at the back end of the alley would provide cover to our activities or attract unwanted attention?
That's a good question... Owen probably wouldn't care either way, since he can always find backup plans B through G, but I don't know about everyone else.

Yes you can retry. Also, I'll let one person use aid another to assist on the lock picking.

That's weird. My post appeared in the Gameplay Thread when I wrote it in the Discussion Thread???
EDIT: Never mind, she finally got it. :)

...and this is the major problem with the D20 system's skill mechanic. No matter how high a character's skills, there's always that element of failure present. Sure, it models reality, but it turns into a b#$ and a half when the story depends on a successful skill check. At the best, it grinds the game to a halt while everyone tries to make the check, and at worst, it can completely derail the campaign (such as the apocryphal tale of the failed Track roll).

1 - disguise self, expeditious retreat
2 - none
While re-reading posts, I noticed that invisibility got cast twice by accident, so I swapped it for the slot occupied by blur.

Her labor is becoming more labored, eh?
Gah! that's what happens when I try to multi task. Her breathing is becoming more labored. Tried to be more dramatic in my narration and failed horribly. Enjoy that Battle Aspergillum. See an explanation in the game thread.
