"Ah, Ophelia. I didn't see you coming in my tent. What a pleasure and honor is this" Marcus speaks but with a dry tone "So, cohesion you say? You do know that I could help you but would you not gain more if you were to adapt a bit of knowledge the traditions of Riverlands. Also with help of Darne - were he able to succeed with earning heir title - you could have easier time to blend here and receive assists?" Marcus intrigues as he explains his mind
"It is hard here for a woman in comparison to Dorne, where you are in same position as men or even better."
Charm [Deception(Act): 3d6 + 2 ⇒ (4, 4, 4) + 2 = 14 2 DoS
Damn, that was like random to me. Was thinking if I missed something somewhere. True, Marcus does feel a bit hostility towards Ophelia but both never really talked with each another and not sure about their relationship.

"Ser, I am not sure managing to become more Westerosi would indeed help. That is in part why I am here. Perhaps now is as good a time as any. Please, do let me know what I m doing improperly? I would prefer you to let me know in private rather than in a more public forum, of course. Perhaps we could trade a little of our knowledge with one another. I am obviously a little unsure in your lands. I also have some small training in other areas that I would be happy to share."
Darne Naelareon |
Darne spied Maester Lucen and turned to Garrin "Forgive me a brief reprise whilst you get my sister up and ready for the hunt. I shall be but a moment but I have something I need to speak to Lucen about, something that he could perhaps help me with the upcoming events with the other houses." he said and stepped away for a brief moment.

"Maester a moment of your time please, I hope that perhaps you could help me as the person who has been teaching me as of late in the ways of politics. Father deems that this celebration is the prime chance for me to get myself a wife...or at least start courtship with someone and I would hate to embarrass myself or this house. Would you be able to get together a list for me of all the notable daughters and a brief description of them so I don't make any mistakes that could harm us." he asked hoping that the man would agree.

"I could propably do something were I to take care of you but I do not know. Now with this heir situation everything is getting out of control. Matthias Naelaron |
Matthias loses himself training in the yard, finding a calm center, as he realizes it may be best for him to throw his support behind Darne.
Satisfied with his efforts, he seeks out Ophelia.
Excuse me Lady Ophelia. I have reconsidered my use of your mount for the Joust. In the event that I am unsuccessful, the victor would own the mount. If fortune smiles, then they woukd be willing to ransom it back. With that in mind I cannot in good conscience use your fine horse.
The Warlord |
The Queen Arrives
Queen Alicent of Hightower's arrival is heard before it is seen by most of Riverrun's guests and residents. Lords and their entourages have been drifting in to Riverrun over the last few days, but today's arrival is of a different scale and splendor, dampened only slightly by a slight drizzle that marks the Queen's arrival.
Ser Rickard Thorne is resplendent in the white scale and plate of the Kingsguard, carrying the three headed red dragon banner of House Targaryen. Just behind him rides Ser Lorent Marbrand, Lord Commander of the Kingsguard and reputed to have the skills to merit his station.
Grandmaester Orwyle rides uneasily on a gentle palfrey, the old maester having made the long journey from King's Landing to oversee the maester's conclave called to accompany the tourney.
Sworn swords and men at arms to the flanks and the rear of the party, but most eyes are drawn to the royal carriage between the soldiers, resplendent in the rich greens of the Reach with scrollwork in Hightower grey, a gift from House Tyrell to the queen.
A regal hand emerges from carriage, causing a great clamor in the audience. Queen Alicent briefly emerges through a canopied window to wave to the smallfolk and guardsmen before returning to her carriage to shelter. Word had already gone round that the Queen's husband, King Viserys I would not be attending, and had already sparked a host of reasons for his absence: a snub to the Tullys for failing to quell the Bracken-Blackwood feud? Sickness in the royal household? Preparations for war in Dorne?
Despite the crowd's enthusiasm for the queen, here and there messengers peel off to confirm the King's absence to their lords and paymasters.
Without warning, a black dog bolts through the crowd and beneath the wheels of the royal carriage, causing the draft horses pulling it to rear and one of the great wheels to emit a loud CRACK as it crushes the dog.
Impressive as the royal party is, a single black dog has eluded the might of the Kingsguard and brought the Queen's elaborate green carriage to an ignominious and muddy halt.
Participants: Separate characters may attempt each check. Characters may assist instead of attempting either check. Characters may attempt both checks.
- Characters may participate simply as observers, but please mark rolls clearly.
Challenge:
- Athletics (Strength) (TN 12) to right the carriage.
- Cunning/Knowledge (TN 12) to fix the damaged wheel back in place.
- Negative consequences for critical failure.
Consequences:
[Succeed/fail to find out!]
Note: You are not the only ones trying
Matthias Naelaron |
I am spending a destiny point for an extra lesser action to speed ahead of the crowd.
Matthias rushes forward, moving to right the carriage, bellowing at the nearest knight or other small folk, A hand if you will.... gulp
Athletics: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 1) = 11
Garran Fain |
After a morning spent teaching a bit of the hunt with Darne and Cassondria, Garran returned and quickly washed. After all, one did not often get the chance to see a queen in one's life. Joining the crowds, he watched the procession, glimpsing Queen Alivent as she waved. Satisfied with that, he made to leave when suddenly the dog burst out and damaged the wheel. As Matthias ran out, Garran was caught in the crowd, as he fought his way through.
What difficulty do you have to hit to assist a check?
Ser Weyland Wylde |
Weyland will attempt to right the carriage.
Athletics 3d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 1) = 9
Knew I should have put Bonus Points in Strength :-) Yet again, the dice roller seems not to favor Ser Weyland. Can I spend 1 Destiny Point to get +1B? Tired of failing all of my rolls...
Ophelia Sand |
Ophelia will attempt to right the wagon:
Athletics: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 3, 4) = 10
Destiny Curse: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Bonus Dice from Destiny: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Total = 14; if all is well, please replace with Cunning (same dice) to fix the wheel.
Ser Weyland Wylde |
Warlord as Matthias is claiming he and Garran have the wheel should I instead re-roll and make a Cunning Check, where I would absolutely use a Destiny Point. Just not sure if that should be retconned or re-rolled, thanks.
Ser Weyland Wylde |
As Matthias waves Weyland away from holding the wheel, he notices Ophelia inspecting it. Weyland will assist her in getting it on straight.
I have a 2 Cunning, instead of rolling, I will simply assist her giving another +1 bringing Ophelia's check total to 15.
Ophelia Sand |
Ok, second of the two rolls then.
Cunning: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 5, 1) = 15
"I apologize for the condition of the roads, M'Lady." Ophelia offers as she attempts to catch the wagon before it can tip too far, " House Naelareon sends its warmest regards." she offers as she does her best to fix the wagon with her House mates.
Maester Lucen |
Wow..taking me some time to catch up...and missing some of the adventure as well...darn having to work!! lol
Maester Lucen smiles at the young lord and says, "You father has already confided in me that he hopes you find a suitable bride at this tourney, and I have made up a list of the most eligible and well ranked daughters."
Not sure if I really needed to roll against his attempt, as I figured the lord had already spoken to me about this, and I would have already made note of who was here and if they had eligible daughters...or I could roll...
The Warlord |
You can make the list, not a problem, will offer suitable maids in a bit, He has high enough DoS to know the Houses and an idea of which Houses you can marry, the maids name is another thing
House Naelareon with the assistance of House Tully, Bartheld, Baratheon, Swann, Orell, Hightower and Fossoway are all helping, while now it's a crowded affair they seems to have gotten things ready and the queen can continue her now rather muddled and cumbersome ride as the priced guest of the Lord Paramount.
Event Ended. gossips on day 2 XD and pissed off father achievement unlocked
The Warlord |
You can role play with those houses that are near you from the list provided above, they are mostly soldiers
Notable NPC to speak with near the "Wheel Tragedy"
The Kingsguard

Ser Rickard Thorne
Ser Erryk Cargyll

Ser Byron Swann, Ser Dermot Tully, Ser Karl Fossoway, Ser Robb Redwain, Ser Deran Orell, Davian Bartheld, Ser Deran Stayne.
Others
Guards, Servants
Ser Weyland Wylde |
"Well met Ser Lorent, Ser Rickard, Ser Erryk. I am Ser Weyland Wylde, tell me by chance are you aware of whether my father Lord Jasper Wylde will be in attendance for these festivities?
Ophelia Sand |
Ophelia whispers something to Weyland.
Ser Weyland Wylde |
Weyland nods and smiles, "I shall endeavor to do so Ser".
Weyland will see if he can figure out which one is Tully but without letting on that he dos not know, he keeps his mouth shut unless he identifies him correctly.

Ophelia whispers back,
Marcus Stormborn |
I do now just assume it is common knowledge to nobles-> favoring and giving a "hand" to one side with such actions + I would like to think that Marcus has somekind of idea what Lord Naelareon wants or what he was thinking. Otherwise Warlord and otheres can ignore this
Marcus being awake and well-prepared for the event watches along the sidelines the arrival of Queen and her escorts when the black dog suddenly runs under the carriage, causing it to halt the movement of carriage - damaging its wheel - and dieing in the process.
Interested to see what will happen but soon Marcus face will turns to that of horror and shock as he sees Matthias running like a madman towards carriage and others soon following. You g+&!@~n imbecils, noooooo! Seething with rage due to attention they were receiving and the rumours soon to be floating all around Marcus is at loss of words.
Shaking his head and moving back towards Naelareon camp to think what will happen today and to report the incident to Lord Naelareon
Matthias Naelaron |
Matthias say not a word, simply walks away once the wagon has been set to rights. He rejoins the rest of his house as the procession continues. Once the others rejoin rest of the house, he quietly says to Garran, Ophelia, and Weyland, That went well. A good deed to start the day.
Garran Fain |
So, Garran never actually got there to assist. I had him stuck in the crowd until Warlord answered my question about assisting. Should that have affected the outcome?
The Warlord |
Yes it does affect Garran, as Matthias is not strong enough to do it, or you can say you wait in the crowd, let Matthias look a tad bit to eager and doesn't quite pull it off until other NPC's help him, so it's up to you if you want to make Matthias look weak or IC you don't know inquire your lords wrath, bare minimum contempt
Darne Naelareon |
Darne watched from the crowds and a palm went to his face to hide the slight horror at seeing so many of his house run in to help. This would add a new challenge to the table as far as politics were concerned. He couldn't help but be a little happy that at least his father would not be mad at him for a while, but still his house was now a bit in trouble now.
He sighed and turned about to go to his father's side. He wondered how the old man was going to take this development and if there was any way to help ease it some.
Garran Fain |
Hmmm...based on the fact that the Middle-Aged flaw I gave Garran was Athletics, I'm going to say he doesn't quite make it in time to assist Matthias and the other NPCs get there first. The intention to help was there, though. He still has no idea assisting with this would upset Lord Domeric.
Seeing the knights and Matthias get to the cart before he did, Garran stops trying to advance forward through the crowd. Looking about the crowd, he sees Darne turn to leave and thinks, I should grab him so we can go get him his own proper boar spear. The merchants should be relatively clear. He then moves after Darne.
Ser Weyland Wylde |
Weyland will approach Maester Lucen with Ophelia in tow, "Maester, could you point out Ser Dermont Tully to me? I fear too much time spent with swords has decayed my memory of house sigils..."
The Warlord |
Lucen Awareness TN 12 please
House Naelaron has turned green, and other gossips of how they are not neutral anymore. Some looks of disdain other approve, while others show no emotion
Lucen for notable people you see every house lord in attendance, so everyone of notice is at the Queen's arrival, they may not support her, but etiquette will have them there.
As for ladies, you want to know of what Houses from the list, you got a 2 DoS so it's enough to know at least of 4 or 6 maids
Ser Weyland Wylde |
Ser Weyland approaches Ser Dermont Tully, "Good day Lord Tully, I am Ser Weyland Wylde. By chance have you a moment to spare for me?"
The Warlord |
Lucen
Approval: House Tully, Mallister, Hightower, Bracken, Roxton, Baratheon, Swann, Fassoway, Wylde, Bartheld, Lugus, Tullison, Hawick, Lolliston.
Disdain: House Frey, Banefort, Cox, Blackwood, Dulver, Marsten, Haigh, Charlton, Vypern, Coldbrook, Piper, Terrick, Erenford, Strong
Lucen, let me know the Houses Status 5 and under that you target for possible matches, if there isn't someone in that House you can just pick another
Ser Weyland Wylde |
"I wonder if you are privy to whether my Lord Father Jasper Wylde, Master of Laws, will be in attendance for this Tourney? He and I have spoken only by raven for some years and I would like to see him were he here".
About time I did something right!
Ser Weyland Wylde |
Weyland shrugs, "This is not bad news Lord Tully. My Liege Lord bade me seek him out believing it time for us to make amends on our disagreements. I will keep you no further as I am sure you have much to accomplish this day. Good luck if you plan on participating in any of the Tourney's, may the Warrior shine upon you my Lord!"
With that being said, Ser Weyland makes his way back to Ophelia.
