Sorry for the long gap. Family issues have came up. Both (not just one, but BOTH for crying out loud) grandmothers have fallen and injured themselves. I managed to pop in on the game I'm playing in and post a bit, but I need to update the map here. Hopefully I'll have something up later on tonight.

Raven, Crafter of Shadow |

Sorry to hear that, hopefully they'll both be okay. Delay is completely understandable, take all the time you need.

First rule of gaming: Don't be a jerk. (It's actually something different, but it would likely get censored on the boards.)
Second rule of gaming: Life comes first.
Hope you can make it back as soon as possible, but take care of those grannys first!

DM Bound Shade |

So both grandmothers are home finally, but still recovering. Both suffered some bumps and bruises. They'll need help around the house, but they're otherwise okay.
One had a nasty cut on her forehead, but nothing requiring hospitalization. The other had a hematoma on the surface of her brain and required ICU care. Fortunately, it was at the hospital my mother works at, her unit even, so she got great care. Neuro checks every 30 minutes. Thankfully, she hadn't started back on her coumadin but a couple of days earlier, so the bleeding wasn't extensive.
I appreciate the understanding that people have shown. Let's get this game moving forward once again.
On another note: I've been neglecting light sources for the time being, but this place is unlit and pitch black, especially during the night. Teeth and some of the others won't need one, but other characters will. Who's carrying the light sources and what are they?

![]() |

Ah, true. I can't actually use my bow and carry a light. Clearly, I'm going to need to get a wayfinder to alleviate that problem, but that's a bit down the line. For now, I'll carry my bow in one hand and a sunrod in the other. If I see light up ahead, I'll stow it to douse our light.

Teeth |

I think he said sunrod. Teeth would stay ahead of the light. It would be best for Teeth to sneak ahead when it is dark and Omoro to lead the group 15' back from Teeth probably. if we did it this way, Teeth would sneak back and tell the group about the rat instead of attack.

Raven, Crafter of Shadow |

As the craft nears the Crow piling, and it’s tied off to the heavy stone next to the others, Nadja rises. As she does so she goes to pet Teeth on the head. Lowering her hand she looks down at it, and then at the warty, wrinkled skin of the goblin and seems to think better of it. Tucking her hand away she instead gives the goblin a nod. Make it happen Teeth and take Oromo with you. Don’t move more than two rooms ahead so we can get to you if you find trouble.
Though I'm not 100% they're following it.

Raven, Crafter of Shadow |

Three posts at the same time. O_o
Nice to see several of us are eagerly awaiting events!

Raven, Crafter of Shadow |

Is everyone going to stay put?
At present I'm waiting as I don't want to charge ahead without others. Since we've been discovered, I think it's best to wait until Calendir and Aurora catch up and then move in as a group.

Nadja Cazynsik |

One of the front liners needs to move up into room 5 before the rest of us follow in case there's more scouts up ahead. That is the only reason why I diden't move up there on my turn. Coulden't Calendir run for x4?

Nadja Cazynsik |

Bound Shade, could you post in this thread a list of who still needs to go for round two? I think theres some confusion here, because Calendir double moved on round one, but he still needs to catch up?

DM Bound Shade |

Ahhh... I see the confusion. I've not posted the results of the end of round 1 due to waiting for the beginning of round 2 to take their turns (i.e. those that go before the rat). However, if everyone is going to simply stay put, I'm gonna have everyone drop out of combat for the moment.
Edit: Most of this is due to confusion that's occurred in previous combats. Seeing the confusion here, I'll swing something else.

Nadja Cazynsik |

Bound Shade,
If it's alright with everyone, I think that we should not drop out of combat. Here's my reasoning. The “rat” must have been a lookout for the Tower Girls. It’s fair to assume it is now on its way to warn the others. Before they were unaware, but thanks to teeth we have lost the element of surprise.. note to self.. never trust a goblin to do a woman’s work!
Anyhow, If we drop out of combat we can’t track how much time before the lookout can relay a warning to the other members of the gang and the last thing we want right now is to lose the advantage we had by sneaking into The Crow in the first place. What I am worried about is if we let too much time go by we will be facing a horde of Tower Girls all with readied attacks to shoot at the first person to step through the doorway.
It would be an overwhelming advantage. I think we need to rush ahead and stop the girls from getting the chance to clump up. Basically we need to go full offensive *right* now or the job ahead is going to become much harder.
What does everyone else think?

Raven, Crafter of Shadow |

I can see the logic of it. I know I'm delaying since I don't want to charge ahead into a room by myself without a melee-er present. I figure if we all delay round 2 until Calendir goes, then our actions are to move behind him. Then round 3 the enemies go, our actions start with Calendir and the rest of us follow behind.

DM Bound Shade |

Yeah, I was arguing the same thing with myself, actually. However, everyone seems to have been waiting for Calendir and Aurora. Their actions are in the same batch as those that are in the beginning of round 2 are in as well, so I was waiting for everyone in the beginning of round 2 to post. I asked if people were waiting and got little response. I think it's just confusion at this point with everything.
I'll add that on my end, life is sucking a bit. I'm dealing with some nasty depression that I'm trying to get aid with. So, if I seem a bit out of sorts, please forgive me that. It's probably contributing to the issues at the moment.
I'm wanting to move out of combat in the hope that people will push forward rather than be waiting for their turns. I understand the need to be fairly precise, but I'm trying to keep a good tally on how much time in game has passed, since I know it'll be very important.
Also, I'll lay down a system for combat due to the confusion here. I'll be specific on whose turns I'm looking for. I'll post the enemies actions once I've got those and then have others post till the round ends. Once the round ends, I'll finish it up with a synopsis post, and then start the next the round, asking for those in the beginning again to go, starting the cycle again. How does this sound to everyone?
Also, at this point, Calendir and Aurora have moved up into Room 4, so everyone should be together.

First rule, DM: Take care of yourself first. Depression is a mean disease, and treatment is always ongoing. I hope you find someone that can help you with it, and that this black cloud lifts for you sooner rather than later.
Every game's a bit different, so it's natural for things to take a bit longer as we iron everything out. I think that system you're describing will help clear up confusion on who's going and where the holdup in resolution is at.

DM Bound Shade |

Thanks once again for your supoort. This has been long building in my life, but has come to a head this past Thursday. Honestly, all I can say is that it sucks. The game's are a great diversion and I think much better for me than video games. At least I get a chance to be creative and interact with others.
@Calendir: Hmmm... Just a misunderstanding, then. I had meant that your Round 1 would go before Omoro's Round 2. I was acknowledging his Round 2 action. I had updated the map on my computer for your action, but I was going to incorporate the end of Round 1 actions with the beginning of Round 2 actions.

Nadja Cazynsik |

Well, that should push you to the DC20 Calendir. Nadja’s not the type of person to “aid” someone but I figure that was as close an approximation as she would reasonably come to.
I suspect that its stuff like this that Lord Heidmarch would want us to record. Lets clear out the immediate threat before moving back to catalogue this.
