Guys,
Just want to say ahead of time sorry for Nadja being "Super B!~*!". Its really nothing personal. Calendir can attest that I tone it down after the first few interactions. Unless your outside of the team, then its fair game.

I'd like to note something about the area. You're on the edge of Underbridge, which means that while this area is getting sufficient moonlight to be in dim light, not much further in is pretty much in complete darkness, due to the shadow of the span. The occasional light from someone's lantern or torch is visible, but there's no real effort by the city to light this place.
Also, waiting to see how you all enter the building.

This might be a good point to ask. How do people want to work readied actions outside of combat? Usually I just state 'no go' as it's an initiative action and that's what rolling initiative and surprise rounds are for. I find that allowing everyone to ready actions before combat usually just becomes an initiative cluster f*!&.

Also acceptable for me. Though I'm still watching.

I agree. Readied actions outside of combat usually either mean one of two things.
1. The party is readying for an ambush. In that case, have them take their actions, and then roll for initiative.
2. The party is holding due to a "Mexican standoff" situation. In that case, when someone blinks, roll initiative.

Evening guys!
Just want to give you a heads up that my posting will be limited from this wednesday to the next wednesday. My wife and I are going to be in Hawaii for our anniversary. I'll try to post, but don't hesitate to DMPC me if I can't respond. I will be following along, but whatever I do post will be succinct. Thanks!

Sorry about delay, seems every time I try to log in or shortly thereafter, the Paizo site's been going down. Probably bad luck on my part.
Oh, and of course holidays killing quite a bit of my normal free time. Can't wait for it to be over, lol.

Wow, Xmas is over! Gotta say this has been a draining one for me. Hope everyone had a good holiday season (for those who celebrate).
Looking over my PBPs this morning (well, evening now), I realize it's been a bigger interruption than I thought it would be. So going through and apologizing to all my games for the somewhat unexplained absence and getting updates in as applicable.
Gonna wait to see what others do before posting for round 2.

Just to let everyone know, tomorrow night I'll be attending a work holiday party, then Sunday I leave to Florida for a week. I'll try to make sure everything's as up to date as I can before the party tomorrow, but after that probably won't be able to post until at the hotel Sunday night. I should be able to post every night while in Florida, but if there's a delay it'd be work related. I come back next Friday if I completely disappear during this time for some reason.

I'm curious. There's been long breaks in particular parts and people seem to be posting little. I like it when the PCs are proactive more than reactive. Is there anything going on that people are waiting for? Style of how I'm running things? I'd like to have a bit of feedback on it. Thanks. :)

At this point I kinda want us to kick down the door and move on, the thing is I don't think it makes a lot of sense tactically. Is there some way we can agree ahead of time that we will do x action at each door, such as a perception check, disable traps and the like and you can just tell us the results so we can speed up this process Bound Shade?
I'm thinking something like this.
"You come to X room... Auto perception rolls... You locate Y trap on X door and 4 silver pieces hidden in a straw pile. X person casts guidance on Y person (as previously agreed) and attempts to disable trap. Success. You locate nothing else in this room...
I feel like each of us want to be here, but if we could streamline some of this. What do you guys think? Ultimately what is important to me though is we can still keep the Roleplay and Combat going, but let go of some of the "maintance" posts if you will.

I agree Nadja - from my part, I am usually waiting for the updates of my actions - keep in mind that I live across the Atlantic in Europe, so my time frames are a little different :D
The last post from DM Bound Shade landed a couple of hours after I went to bed yesterday - I am now updating my posts after taking care of the usual busy family mornings.
Raven, Crafter of Shadow
I agree with what Nadja said. Some of the normal things I'm fine with you rolling, perception rolls for traps and searching rooms (unless there's some reason we may not want to, like an enemy fleeing), saving throws, knowledge checks. It does put a little more work on DM Bound Shade but it removes quite a bit of the waiting.
Wednesday - Long day at corporate offices, following by lunch with company president and divisional director. Didn't get home until after 10.
Thursday - Long day at corporate office, followed by networking, er dinner with others. Didn't get home until 9, then packed (early flight Friday).
Friday - Traveled home, spent time with family and crashed.

No excuses needed, at least as far as I'm concerned Raven. Real Life is exactly that, REAL. I'm not one to share much on the web but I got family also, kids and all. And hey, they gotta come first.
I agree also with Nadja, actually as a DM I usually make most of those rolls for my players, simply because I'd rather that they didn't know they rolled a 20 on their Perception (meaning if they hear nothing, it's because nothing is there), but sometimes also to speed things up a bit.
In any case I am happy with the pace we are starting to achieve ;)
DM Bound Shade
Agreed. Real life comes first. Games and entertainment are great, but everyone has responsibilities and those need to be first. So, I agree with Calendir, Raven. Don't worry about the excuses. :) I'm more worried about what I'm doing on my end.
My experiences in table top games have taught me the reverse. I typically let players make most of the rolls so that they feel like they have more agency (granted they're handing it off to a die roll anyways...). I've dealt with enough blame and other utter ridiculousness that I do such things mainly to just avoid it and not have to fight with people.
Thank god as I get older, I'm finding more mature players to play with. :) I'll start prerolling some of the obvious stuff so that time doesn't need to be spent on it.

Thanks Omoro! I hope so too. I'm DMing a serpent skull AP in real life and I'm using the hex system for the group to explore smugglers shiv. It seems to be going really well. I think I'll carry it through for the next part.

On a related note, I've got a character I'd really like to play in a Legacy of Fire game, but keep getting passed over on that. Very frustrating to always be the bridesmaid.
I've had more luck with LoF than any other AP here on the boards. I played it for around the first two books before the DM gave it up. I think we were a bit more than halfway through the second book, which took a couple of real life years.

We could also try grappling. If we can manage to get her pinned, we can tie her up. I don't believe she has a weapon per se in hand at present, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
Raven, Crafter of Shadow
I stand corrected. Not sure how I kept missing that, it's plain as day now that I look. Must've failed a perception roll...
But I still agree with Nadja that at this point incapacitation may work better.
Raven, Crafter of Shadow
I agree on that one! Hopefully we can still take her alive.
Getting updates in. Just letting you know I'm in a hotel for the next two weeks with the worst internet I've seen. So if I should seem to disappear for some reason, please feel free to bot me not to hold things up.
