Raven, Crafter of Shadow |

A groggy Raven just waking up. And thank you for this opportunity!

Calendir |

I am enthusiasmed to get this rolling, so completely OOC I think we could share a few mechanical details regarding how our characters usually act in and out of combat - here goes Calendir's part:
Combat:
- He is supposed to be able to fight both in melee and at range;
- For melee he has high ST and for ranged he has a decent Dex, which I plan to increase with levels, and all the combat style feats will be chosen for Archery - coupled with a Composite Bow adequate for his strength, he should get pretty well rounded up;
- The idea behind the character (probably not unfamiliar to many of you) is to maintain ranged support, and change to melee when the combat gets close;
- I am not expecting to be a front line combatant, but this will depend on the group and tactics.
Outside combat:
- I am planning to invest in the usual Ranger core skills - Perception, Survival/Tracking and Stealth abilities to keep us running safe
- His low Charisma does not allow him for any decent social skills (except for Intimidate which can be useful sometimes), but I am planning to max Animal Handling, since I would like to chose an Animal companion
- He has knowledge (local) although not an extreme level, but that should allow us access to at least some information that can be needed
Roleplaying wise:
- Most info is on the profile
What about you guys?

Raven, Crafter of Shadow |

Combat:
As an illusion specialist, Raven's focus will be on deception and misdirection in combat. At low levels I'll be using my Blinding Ray quite abit (which our tengu should enjoy, I hope), as well as the usage of vanish/invisibility (once again, for our tengu). Color spray until it's not useful anymore.
Raven also possesses a strange love of fire magics as well (her peri-blooded heritage), so will often have a couple prepared as slots are available.
Outside combat:
Oddly the same, deception and misdirection. Looking over my sheet, I realize I don't have any ranks in bluff yet (darn wizard skill points!), but by level 2 will be doing so.
With a decent charisma, I can act as a party face pretty well (either primary or backup), and with Truespeaker, will be quickly speaking a large number of languages quickly (9 so far!).
At level 6 I'll be starting the Veiled Illusionist prestige class. This will reduce my skill points (no more favored class bonus) as well as free spells for leveling up (I only get 1/level, and it has to be illusion).
Roleplaying:
Raven is prone to deception, thought not in a malicious fashion. The power of illusions are a way to change who she was and become who she wants to be. She has no great care for the society itself, but considers it useful to her for now to accomplish her goals. Raven is a good person at heart though, willing to do what is right, though with her own methods to accomplish it.
Raven doesn't reveal her aasimar heritage, prefering to be considered a normal human. The Scion of Humanity racial trait aids in this (as well as allowing me to act as a humanoid for spells, saving alot of bookwork).
Raven lacks a certain respect for authority figures, willing to work with them as needed but rarely giving the full truth. I'll keep an eye on this to make sure I don't become disruptive though.

Danil Leroung |

Combat:
As a druid with a focus on casting, Iliria will focus on summoning and battlefield control, both through spells and her Fox/Wolf companion who'll be tripping things if all goes well.
I'm still not sure if I'll let him grow to large size, but I have a while to decide considering it won't happen before level 7 anyway.
In addition I'll be going for Eldritch Heritage and the Arcane Bloodline to add more versatility to my spell list (and slap on a familiar in addition to my companion, though that's just gravy)
Outside Combat:
Like your average druid, Iliria is good with animals and nature and she actually makes a pretty good tracker (a +7 so far and not even trained as I needed the rank for Linguistics for rp reasons)
In addition she is pretty decent at diplomacy and will work on that as well.
Roleplay:
Unlike Raven, it's simply not possible for Iliria to hide her Aasimar heritage with a fox tail, amber eyes and pointed canines, among others. She doesn't see the need to hide it.
More than an Aasimar though she is a Varisian. She spent all of her young live as a wanderer in a troupe and even though she eventually left them to wander on her own, her heart will always be with them.
She is a bit shy at first, but once she gets to know people she'll probably won't stop talking about the beautiful things she has seen on her wanderings.
If she discovers Raven also has a celestial bloodline chances are you'll be buggered about it quite a bit. Luckily Iliria has pretty high perception.

Combat:
Well, usual rogue tactics apply - find a flank, and exploit it. I'll probably want to open with ranged and then close to melee. Given that I can apply poison to my weapons without penalty, I'll probably try to soften up "boss" encounters that way. I'll be honest, I haven't planned my character out as far as some of you have, so I don't have any real plans on how he will turn out.
Outside of Combat:
Scouting! With his Perception and Stealth, he's the guy that should be ranging ahead. Since he's also trained in Survival, he can do that in and out of the dungeon. Socially, he's no slouch, and I think he'll be able to bluff his way into a place as easily as he can go all Solid Snake on it.
Also, he knows Thassalonian. I expect this will be useful.
Roleplay:
Expect "fish-out-of-water" for a bit. He's fresh off the boat from Tian Xia, so he's not especially familiar with Avistani customs, let alone Varisian. He's read up on some of that stuff, but dossiers can only get you so far.
Despite that, he'll be devoted to the Society's mission - his master has set him on this path, and he doesn't intend to fail his master. Death before dishonor! I'm sure he and Bertholdt will bond over their shared interests, and he'll be very curious about the possible kitsune in their party.

Nadja Cazynsik |

Combat:
So initially Slumber Hex will be my bread and butter spell, and its really important that you guys know how it works since I will be using it a lot
Slumber (Su): A witch can cause a creature within 30 feet to fall into a deep, magical sleep, as per the spell sleep. The creature receives a Will save to negate the effect. If the save fails, the creature falls asleep for a number of rounds equal to the witch's level. This hex can affect a creature of any HD. The creature will not wake due to noise or light, but others can rouse it with a standard action. This hex ends immediately if the creature takes damage. Whether or not the save is successful, a creature cannot be the target of this hex again for 1 day.
Initially there's two large uses for this spell, but it requires teamwork, and is morally ambiguous. The first is a Slumber --> Coup de grâce, this allows for our Lore Warden to do 2d10+18 to our "helpless" opponent.
The second option is that Nadja carry's around a set of Manacles so I can Slumber --> Manacle, so they are now bound and can't use their hands. This is good when we don't want to kill someone, but need to end combat.
I plan to use Slumber frequently. At later levels with Cackle, Ill Omen and Evil Eye, I would be putting alot of negatives onto other targets for a "save or suck" combo. Though I am not a healer, I can augment the party healing via Infernal Healing spell / wand.
Outside Combat:
Nadja is built to be a face / knowledge expert. Skills she has include:
Bluff +11
Diplomacy +7
Intimidate +7
Knowledge (arcana) +9
Knowledge (history) +9
Knowledge (nature) +9
Knowledge (planes) +9
Spellcraft +9
Nadja will lie a lot. Whenever it suits her or her party's needs or goals. She can also be diplomatic and intimidating as required, however she's not great at reading people, something that will change next level. She also knows quite a bit of lore and esotaric topics. Since we have a druid, I might switch out Knowledge (nature) for Use Magic Device, depending on how the group feels.
Roleplay:
Nadja is Lawful Evil. She has seen the true nature of the world, and of others, and has come to acknowledge that in order to affect any real good one must be willing to do whatever it takes. If someone used detect evil to definitively show them that her heart was black with evil, and Nadja would say:
"Yes. And you're welcome for that."
She does what must be done. Evil.. for good.
Just to give you an idea, this is my "code"
Nadja has a clearly defined code that she lives by. She expects loyalty from those she works with and she would punish disloyalty and treachery with a swift, merciful death. The tenants of her belief, both as a Sczarni and as a Varsian are as follows:
1. Nadja always keep her word of honor.
2. Nadja has no qualms about lying and cheating those not worthy of her
respect.
3. Depending on the situation, Nadja may or may not kill an unarmed or helpless foe.
4. Nadja will never kill (may harm, kidnap) an innocent, particularly a child.
5. Nadja will never kill for pleasure.
6. Nadja will not resort to inhumane treatment of prisoners, but torture, although distasteful, is a necessary means of extracting information.
7. Nadja will never torture for pleasure.
8. Nadja may or may not help someone in need.
9. Nadja will work with others to attain her goals.
10. Nadja respects honor and self-discipline in others.
11. Nadja will never betray a friend.

Ahhh... Slumber hex. It's a fantastic hex. The gravewalker witch in my RL S&S game has shut down a couple of encounters instantly with that hex.
Yes, it can be quite powerful if used appropriately. Especially so, since it remains useful level after level. Still Color Spray and Grease are right up there as well for multi-target, at least early on. Thanks for picking me btw Shade. I have wanted to play this Witch concept for some time!

Raven, Crafter of Shadow |

And with Calendir choosing an aniimal companion (based on above), we're going to have a few animals about it seems. Almost wish I went familiar instead of bonded object, lol.

Raven, Crafter of Shadow |

Just a thought, but I don't mind if you'd like to roll initiative for me, if it would help speed things along, DM Bound Shade. I of course can only speak for myself on that, but just tossing it out there.

Raven, Crafter of Shadow |

Just Raven's opinion Nadja, not mine. Just wanting to separate them out ;p

Raven, Crafter of Shadow |

Fortune teller sounds good to me as well.

Nadja Cazynsik |

too over the top? p.s. don't take it personal! I think Nadja just despises anyone that's not as smart as her. I'm trying to play her like a female version of Mark Zuckerburg from "The Socal Network". Albeit with a gypsy twist.

Raven, Crafter of Shadow |

Just a heads up that my PC decided to stop operating as normal today. I hope to get it up and running over the weekend (not 100% sure what's wrong, but I have a friend who knows abit). It should only minimally impact the games I play in, as I can post from my iPad (just takes longer to draft a post). Just wanted to give a heads up on it.
