Fluff:

Description
Ilyn is tall and thin about 6'4'' and 170 pounds. He wears lightweight black clothing in several layers with an easily removable hood and facecloth. His skin is incredibly pale, almost white and his hair and eyes are jet black. He doesn't appear to carry anything with him except a quiver. Despite his appearance Ilyn is outwardly friendly and generally much more excepting than other elves. His intentions are good and he cares deeply for his companions. His methods while dark never cross the line into what he considers true evil. One thing Ilyn believes in strongly is giving a quick death. In any situation in which another being's life must be extinguished it should be done humanely. This of course does not extend to the darker beings such as demons and undead.

Backstory
Ilyn was raised a stereotypical elven boy. Learning swordplay and archery from a young age. His life was relatively uneventful until the day he left for his first outing. Ilyn and his two best friends Crea and Refellos decided to go for a hunt, a two week long journey out into the world to see what they could find. The first few days went how they expected, they saw beautiful displays of nature's majesty and it was a beautiful and exciting few days. On the fifth day they came across a cave, a seemingly normal cave. They thought it could be fun to explore so in they went to see what they could see. As they ventured farther in they realized that the walls were beginning to become more regular and it slowly became clear that this cave was an entrance to some underground structure. Ilyn being the most cautious of the three suggested they leave but Crea and Refellos would have none of it they continued on until the came to a heavy iron door. Crea jokingly ran up to the door and knocked on it. The elven youths stood in silence for several long seconds before the door was blown from its hinges and into Crea, knocking her down and pinning her underneath. In the door frame stood a massive beast covered in armored skin and dripping filth (Later in life Ilyn would identify it as a hezrou demon). It lunged forward and picked Crea up from beneath the door. Before Refellos or Ilyn could do a thing the beast took a bite out of her skull. Refellos told Ilyn to run... and so he ran without looking back. When he got to the mouth the cave he did turn around. Refellos was running and right behind him the beast was galloping towards him with three arrows in its shoulder. The monster caught Refellos by the neck, snapping his neck and killing him instantly. Ilyn ran as fast as he could for what seemed like and eternity before finally dropping to the ground exhausted and crying.

Ilyn never went home instead he moved to Aloran and sold his services as an assassin for higher, he drifted farther and farther into himself that he no longer cared for life, his own or anyone else. He brutally slaughtered his targets without mercy. He continued on like this until he was 115. One night Ilyn had a dream.

A shadow came to him and asked "what is your greatest fear?" Ilyn didn't know how respond until the shadow morphed into him. "A great war is coming and you my son must be ready to stop it. Give up this life of evil and embrace the darkness in its truest form. Be the shadow cast by the holy light."

When he awoke Ilyn packed up and left to travel the world offering his services as a scout, healer, hunter, and protector.

Religion
Ilyn does not worship a specific god. He draws his divine power from his own belief in using the skills of an assassin for a good cause. The closest thing to a deity he has is an elusive shade that appears to him in his dreams. In general Ilyn is pretty tight lipped when it comes to his worship but he does often use phrases like "shadows are only servants of the light."

Just want to check in on one thing . The previous GM allowed me to use the Elemental Annihilator archetype, which is normally incompatible with energy blasts (like Lightning). Is that cool with you?

I believe I have updated as you have requested.

Lovely lovely. So level up to 10? Will get to work on it.

yup

Neat. Just need to think on whether I actually WANT to keep it. The more I look at Kineticist, the more I realize exactly how much that archetype loses.

Should be done updating in a day or two.

it is going to take me a while to get the character updated. I doubt I'll be able to have it done before thursday.

@carcosa - no worries we definitely won't be starting for a little while.
Wealth will be standard for your level (62,000).
Be warned that you will begin with little to none of your belongings.

can you each just give me a quick yes or no on if your character has ever violently resisted any of the workers.

Hmmm.

I imagine Odrick PROBABLY hasn't, since with his restraints on he wouldn't have any reason to harm anyone (he's only interested in "helping" people by showing them how "pleasurable" being electrocuted is).

Though I suppose if he was initially put in without his restraints, that would be why he has them.

(In case you didn't read the other thread, Odrick has rubber oven mitts bolted to his hands so he can't hurt himself or others.)

I don't think I would say violently yet.

Prae isn't the violent type....until it's time to get some vengeance.

So, no. He hasn't. Yet.

O.o wait, we jumping up to 10?
Hmm, I shall have some work to do then.
And to the answer of has my character violently resisted....he is probably the most dangerous prisoner on the ward and every encounter has probably ended in violence >.>

Edit: Yes, I did mean physically. Also, I assume half of you hesitate some of the time on using your mental strengths against someone. However, he is just a caged animal and lashes out. It will be interesting to try and come up with the appropriate gear for him at that value.

Also, how are we handling HP for leveling purposes?

Most physically dangerous, you mean?

Several of us are much more mentally dangerous than physically so, myself included.

HP is max per level. I plan on throwing some tough stuff at you guys. Besides the bad guys are always hard to kill.

Well don't I just look like a big old block of hp then >.<

Never. Carcosa is incredibly manipulative, but not violent. He might have done things that caused them to get violent with each other, or called up creatures that might have eaten a few of them, but nothing that could ever be tied back to him directly.

Sorry for not replying sooner, I was busy with attending a wedding this past weekend and I had no Internet access.

She never resisted violently but she has spent her time slowly manipulating the orderlies with her charms. If(when) she gets the chance to escape she'd have no problems drawing from her pent up violent urges, doing anything necessary to escape plus a little extra fun if she can manage it.

Almost done updating Odrick. Just need to pick two more Feats (surprisingly hard for a Kineticist. Extra Wild talent is such a garbage Feat that there's no point in taking it because of the stupid restriction on what level of Talent you can choose, and even with my archetype I only need the basic ranged Feats).

How's everything goin'?

slowly, like said the begging of this week was the earliest I would be able to start. Hopefully ill get this up and running soon.

I'm so mad. This weekend I had it just about complete then some pc update thing auto restarted my pc while I was away from it for a bit... sorta my bad but... -_-

Hey GM, what happens if I take Craft Wondrous Item? I was going to do this with this character with the last GM, now I just want to check with you what effect it will have now?

If you're asking about wether or not you are allowed to take item creation feats the answer is yes. You are not allowed to use them before the game starts though.

Hey, I saw you dropped Mike's campaign. Are you still planning on running this one?

I really really hope so. I love the characters and I really am enjoying the plot that I have so far. Unfortunately this is a very busy time for me (I'm just about to start school). I think if I start now this game won't be given the attention it deserves. What I would like to do is wait a few weeks until things have died down. Does that work for you all?

That would be fine, don't get me wrong I would enjoy playing him sooner but I'd rather be able to play him at all then have it die out.

Sure. Just remember to send out PMs.

I'm ok with waiting. Not going anywhere.

works for me.

Can we get a Gameplay thread to dot so that keeping track of this game is easier?

yup
