While we wait for the next cleric to arrive, any input on what the f#%& do we do to prevent the baddie from killing our pal?
I mean, we should probably start doing something before Buzzard decides to speed things by killing him.

I could manifest anytime I want to, I'm just waiting for Dr buzzard to decide what I'm allowed to use.
Just a Mort

Also, I did give Robert a whole list of possible solutions...
Because I was bored.
Don't mind me if I sound like a cat, because I am one!

All right. I'll get to office and manifest! After a few skill point retweaks.

Right. Now what is Gelik's exact condition at this point of time (I. E grappled, pinned or what when held at knife point?).
Malok, the East Wind
I could try to entangle the roof, not sure that would keep him from killing the guy though..
Dargorath
Since we're doing it THIS way...what we need to do, assuming my actions failed, is to stop the kidnapper from killing Gelik - probably by disabling him (Go Hideous laughter, Daze).
Ideally Barton could have gotten the grease up on Gelik before I started with liberating command (that would be a +18 to escape artist)- but again - maybe it's better he's free for another chance to disable the kidnapper. In case he tries to grapple Gelik again.
I think this would count as in combat so charm person would be out of question - unless you don't mind the +5 on target will save.
After that - Malok - you can spend a full round action summon an air elemental - give it orders to whirlwind, get Gelik to willingly fail the save, so the air elemental in question whirlwinds in, and out, and as a free action, drops Gelik at our feet.
I don't really care what happens to the kidnapper to be honest. I don't have any urge to kill him. The job was to get Gelik out.
The issue is that it takes place at level 4, which is one level below when wizards actually the fly spell. And most people will NOT prepare levitate/spider climb on their prepared spell list, nor do I blame them since it's too situational.
Dargorath
Well that's going to be a pain in da @rse since it takes 1 min to get out of ropes using escape artist.
Again...there's something called scorching ray...
Are the ropes tying Gelik up tied to anything?
Dargorath
OK, let's rewind a bit before we get the prisoner killed. There is no way to get within 35' of Gelik from the ground. He also is sporting a big shiner (black eye) and looks to have had the stuffing beat out of him, so he's obviously in bad shape.
The guy on the roof is ranting about all manner of things, but they make a rather limited amount of sense. Lalali's entreaties seem to merely rile him some more.
As there is a crowd around here to witness the spectacle, you are just faces in a crowd to Umgaro.
Ok - are there any ways up the roof that Ivar was looking for? He made perception checks for that.
Since Gelik is tied up with ropes - are the ropes attached to anything -i.e Umgaro or a pole or anything?
How close can we get to Gelik and Umgaro?
drbuzzard
He is only bound with ropes, not tied to anything.
There is no visible means of climbing to the roof. You do see an open hatch up there, about 30' from the ranter. It's a reasonable assumption that it's pretty easy to get on the roof that way.
You can get about 50' from him without breaking line of sight.
Dargorath
Lol I thought the ranter was a building structure as opposed to the guy ranting. I don't know much about building terminology and it shows.
Now for the fun part. Can we see how to access the hatch?
Dargorath
Suggest those who need to be up close enter the building where the hatch is on.
Try to find the hatch entrance. I'll stay out here.
If you want to yak, go ahead but I won't yak because of my Lawful alignment. Whatever promise I end up making to him I'll have to keep. And I don't care for destabilizing order by caving in to essentially a terrorist's demands.
How close is gnome from roof edge, also?
Calm emotions + air elemental still applies, except we may want to get air elemental to carry(grapple and move) Gelik instead of the faster option of whirlwind down.
Was considering air elemental bull rush +featherfall, but the 35 ft range might be
an issue.

sounds like we need to go inside and look around, will post a little later this evening,
sorry, didn't remember reading that there is a hatch.
drbuzzard, which direction did we come in from? Can we place our icons relatively anywhere we want? are we in combat rounds yet or can we get into the building and look for a way to get to the roof?

Yes! The sweet, sweet sound of plot moving! Hip, hip, hurrah!
As Robert can attest... I suffer from Pbp ADHD. Always need to be doing something.
Dargorath
Oh dear. Probably better to wait for Lali to say that we ran into company. Though I can't comment on company either since I don't see what Barton sees...

Neither do I see s$~+... I mean, I am sneakying around the main building looking for a way up sooooo... Good luck, Bart.

That´s fine unless you take over the whole plot and make decisions on your own or force them. I had a player like that once and it was one of the worst experiences i ever had.
Dargorath
Done, sorry if anyone was waiting for me. My apologies, but I think most of the fun happens while I'm asleep. I'll just have to catch up in the morning :)
Malok, the East Wind
Diplomatic siutations are obviously not the groups strong point.. Next time we kill the hostage too I think and move on lol..
Sir Galittlehad the Not So Pure

Thing is I technically am the most trained person to do diplomacy... but I arrived late to that party so my fault. Plus the whole acting all bodyguardy against a heavily hostile enemy that got charmed by Lalali into believeng she is his friend.
Weird situation, anyway.
Sir Galittlehad the Not So Pure

True enough. Just want to drive the point that what I was going to try was stalling him so we could stop it more than diplomacying his ass into doing our job.
Dargorath
I'll be on vacation on 6th October to 9th October to hike in the jungle.
I will have very limited internet access during those days, since there is no wifi in the jungle and only when I am at my room in guesthouse at night and in the morning will I have internet access(which is likely to be spotty), so my apologies in advance.
Dargorath
Thanks. But I'm doing the RL version of Serpents skull^^
Except I'd probably be some silly multiclass ranger/wizard in pathfinder if pathfinder classes were allowed...
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson
Gellick explains that he's pretty self sufficient and not at all materialistic. Gifts are not necessary, however he is quirky and doesn't like to be disturbed. Best to warn him that you are coming if you can. Also he mentions that getting there by boat is probably your best bet unless you can all fly. The climb down the cliff is no joke, but there is known to be a path up.
Can we wait for a day? If so, Dargorath will ask Malok to use animal messenger to deliver the message
"I can prepare the spell, but it seems a waste if we are going there already.."
It sounds like the reason we are waiting till the morning is so Malok can prepare the 'animal messenger' spell and send a messenger to Nkechi; Because letting him know that we are visiting is a good idea. If everone is ok with that can we proceed to the next morning?
If everyone is ok with this idea I will post this evening (Say in eight hours or so) Saying that the party waited the night, and Ivar rented a boat while Malok sent an animal messengers.
If anyone thinks this is a bad idea please say something before then...
I have no other idea how to get this moving, so if anyone has any recommendations please say something!
Edit: Ok I posted a little conversation in game. If waiting and going in the morning is bad, please say something here or in game...
