Hello!
So, I picked up the bundle of holding and the enforcer class has been updated. While I loved the concept of it, I was worried that it would be a bit weak even compared to a fighter. The new version is right about the power level I'd expect for a pathfinder class. They've added a grit feature to the class and rearranged some of the abilities (now all enforcers get light armor training, instead of specific archetypes).

Hey all, been a while since I've done any PbP, but eager to jump into it again as well as check out the system on these boards.
So currently I'm thinking about a treasure hunter sort, but I'm flexible to party needs if others already have solid character ideas or characters already built. If I do go that route I'm likely looking at a rogue/daring infiltrator swashbuckler sort. Kind of a Indiana Jones or Nathan Drake. He would probably be smart and social, with combat being a little more opportunistic.

So far I'm shaping up to be human also. Maybe a bit boring, but I'm finding my skill points need to go a long way for what I'm thinking. Yes, I'm more of a concept builder than power builder...
Are we starting out knowing one another, or thrust together? Going to use the random background generator as a jumping off point and including three companions just in case, but curious when I actually solidify the character's history.

I left room open in my character's background to know you guys prior to boarding the ship. He'll have been in Golarion for at least a year prior to starting this AP.
At the very least, the players guide to this AP should give enough of background for our players to at least know each other by name and sight, if nothing else. Since we're all aboard a ship and have been traveling together as either crew or passenger or stow away.

Well if anyone wants to work with what the random background threw my way (and it always seems to have a good idea what I'm doing, weird), it gave me the following for companion relationships:
Companion 1 - From the same hometown or region (Varisia, near Magnimar)
Companion 2 - Former enemies
Companion 3 - Know each other by reputation only
If not, no biggie, I can take or leave that part of the generator's results.
I took Boarded in Mwangi, so haven't been on the ship too long. Nimar is a human Unchained Rogue. Quick, smart, and likable, but not the mule and not going to be making many strength checks now or in the future.

Being first level, it can't be extensive, but he'd be known in both academic and underworld circles as dedicated to uncovering ancient secrets and coming home with prizes more interesting than broken shards of pottery, as well as being a fair trader. He'll sell plunder to finance expeditions and justifies it as the needed cost to seek knowledge of dead cultures. He really tries to strike a balance between doing the right thing and staying wealthy enough to keep searching. In the end, his curiosity rules him, sometimes getting him into trouble.

This is bookrat. My character sheet is in this profile. I still have to buy gear and shore up a few things with the character, but most of it is done.
I'd like the third option, Dickie. My character has heard of you as someone who uncovers arcane secrets and he wants to meet with you in hopes you can help him find a way home.
Meanwhile, my character probably has a reputation as someone who is capable, but very peculiar - he doesn't act the way normal people act or seem to understand this world. His accent is odd. Everyone on board the Jenivere - where he is a crew member - knows that he's looking for his home, but it's a place no one has ever heard of before.
As far as character builds go, this guy is far from optimized. I've taken a lot of abilities that just seem cool without worrying about their power level. Like most of my feats are human feats - something I've always wanted to do but it's never worked with my other characters. Should be a lot of fun to play.

Oooh, I'll take the second option if that's cool. I took the pride drawback, and my character has traveled from the lands of the linorm kings to cheliax, so our characters could have bumped into each other at any tavern in between. Maybe your character didn't believe a story mine was telling and said as much, would have instantly put her into enemy mode being accused of lying. My character would have wanted your character to apologize, and maybe you did, maybe you didn't, your call.
Personally, I like the idea of your character just vehemently refusing, and my character just being so angry about it, but not about to spill any blood over it XD

Yup. Interested, have no exposure to this AP at all, been wanting to play a treasure hunter sort for a while, and eager to do PbP again. Just wish we had our fourth readied up!
Very seriously thinking about running something myself just because, but still don't have a lot of experience with the way the boards work quite yet...

The Many-Faced GM |

Alright, it seems like every one has checked in and at least noted what they're working on.
Let's start coordinating in the Discussion thread and if you have them, please start using your Alias Avatars.
Also the Gameplay thread is open so you can role play there a little too about the voyage your on and the ship ride so far.
We'll officially get started once I see everyone's completed profile and move on from there.
If any questions, feel free to ask.
