the new chars, i think were mentioned too quickly by Thorne, as reinforcements are "on their way", and will meet you in town within the week. so swashbuckler and sister aren't with you guys yet, but will be introduced soon.

What kind of item is the cape/boat? I googled around for a minute and didn't see anything matching the description or price.

unique item, functions as a folding boat, but instead of a box you keep things in, a rain cloak that keeps you dry and comfortable. still two command words for different size boats, and then back to cloak shape. i bumped the price a little for the endure elements type effect.

Cool. Loran now has a few more option. The extend rod means longer haste and more slow for our enemies, and Spawn can now have some armor finally :)

And if we're ever near a cliff, I can bull rush people off it with my Power Ring .... I mean, Ring of the Ram

Thorn's words were something like:

There is another who may be able to aid you. ONce a thriving cult existed in farholde. It was led by a half-elvish noble. He is trecherous and decadent, but wealthy and well connected. Tiadora will introduce you before she departs.

I know not what aid the Baron can provide, but his family is old and long dwelt in Farholde. Never trust him but know this - he's afraid of me and with good reason. If he does try anything, remind him that you are in Farholde on my behalf. That should keep him in line

We can't trust the guy, so I'm not enthusiastic about sharing our mission with him. But without sharing our mission, I'm not sure how we can get help b/c we don't yet know what obstacles stand in our way.

We can ask about the other team that was sent. We can ask about a missing elf (town gossip, iirc). We could ask for general information about the surrounding area and try to direct toward the Caer Byr.

We could just say "we have plans in the area, we'd like to know if you are going to be a help or a hindrance". That's pretty vague, so less likely to get help, but doesn't show our hand.

Others' thoughts? Should we be direct with our plans or coy?

just to present it sort of side by side, but separate so its thematically accurate...

@Loran, and @Temperance,
You've been travelling for almost two weeks now with Tiadora and the 7th Knot. Tiadora, burning down whole hamlets and towns on your trip up the coast. You've gotten to know eachother fairly well, though the 7th knot has remained... icy... towards you.

Elise Zadaria in case you need reminding is their leader. A mysterious white haired human witch with a white raven. She works with Dostan, a tall muscular blonde half-elven man in white firs who wields an enormous greatsword. Trak, and Trik, twin humans, one an archer, the other a priest of Asmodeus, and Fennik a white haired male kitsune with a sword.

Tiadora picked you up by barge two weeks ago, and has been keeping to her quarters , the best appointment in the ship, the captain's quarters, while you have had to sleep out on deck with the crew. Tiadora only emerges at night, briefly on deck surveying the town from where you weigh anchor for the evening, before teleporting to shore. Soon after there are usually screams that manage to carry out across the water to the barge. The captain and crew shudder, but seem utterly under her sway. You've deduced that during the journey, Tiadora has been on a rampage. But this night, she reminds you before dark, that tomorrow morning the 9th knot will be at the docks in Farholde to greet you. After that, you're not her problem anymore.

I sure hope the 9th knot is a bit more relaxed, these fellows are as cold as ice. While the penchant for violence is appreciated, it likes a certain amount of style...

Edwin is a tallish human, standing at relative ease even on the rocking boat. He carries a decorated cutlass and a small buckler, and often swings needlessly along the rigging with ease. Outgoing and cheerful, he will laugh and drink while sliding his blade into your chest.

i should have rolled that in secret and kept it aside to keep you wondering.
will do better in the future.

just remember that since you have 2 chars each, i don't feel *too* bad picking one off if something comes up.

for now just roleplay it as though you don't know what happened to Loran.
and decide when you'd start to worry about not seeing or hearing from him.

ash, leo, forsythe, edwin, neji (in eidolon suit), and saio have darkvision
that's the only reason i presume there is *some* light being used , the few times Temperance has addressed the darkvision problem, she's produced a scroll or taken an extract.

okie dokie, my mistake. I thought i read those with low-light had darkvision or had spelled their way to it. They are welcome to use the pebble with light on it as they see fit.


I'd prefer darkvision so I'm not the weak link when Ash drops darkness. Plus it's not that expensive for a couple castings and lasts a long time.

Yea, I wouldn't expect our party to sneak past anything anytime soon, so not going to complain about us getting jumped. That was pretty much expected. I mostly just want to make sure my 2 girls aren't useless when Ash decides to make it super-dark in here.

In fact, Piety can switch her spells prepared for just 1 arc pool point (using her quick study exploit, so OP), so she can swap out darkvision for darkness after Ash uses his 1/d up. Then we can keep darknessing people for fun and profit.

Vince, did the toad mage take the damage from my critical hit? I don't see it listed? I had moved up to attack (but didn't realize I couldn't 5 ft) but I did hit with my first attack

yay, i didn't break any bones!


Toads are pretty flexible, I think. The only time I've seen a toad break bones is when my little brother threw one against a wheelbarrow and smashed it flat. So glad no one did that to you because then you probably wouldn't be able to GM for us anymore.

It seems like all the squares in these maps are 10ft on a side, so I just go by the size of our icons, assuming Vince has scaled those to be 5 ft on a side.

yeah. the map's originally 10'. easier to just stick to some corners that we can see, than for me to overlay another grid over and try to match it up for now. =P

lol, and are those the only pieces of equipment you carry? you own nothing else? pls. list your equip at least, so you have things to refer to when for ex, you say you draw your sword and attack, or when i secretly detect magic and scan you for magic items =)

i'm not a horrible stickler, everyone's sheets aren't even in their character profiles. but i do have some sheets that were forwarded to me and updated. but when you do to pull out something that you haven't bought or isn't on your sheet. don't be surprised if you "can't find it" or "lost it".

I think I still owe you mine? I honestly don't know. Did you want it tracked under the character sheets here in Paizo or did you want soft copies emailed to ya? I'm sure I have either not done either or have fallen behind on tracking, outside of day to day items.

yeaaah, its too bad leo survived. i was kinda hoping this would be his death scene. I got excited when it was a lightning elemental and the scenario detailed what happens if you fall from the platform. =)
