It seems like all the squares in these maps are 10ft on a side, so I just go by the size of our icons, assuming Vince has scaled those to be 5 ft on a side.

Toads are pretty flexible, I think. The only time I've seen a toad break bones is when my little brother threw one against a wheelbarrow and smashed it flat. So glad no one did that to you because then you probably wouldn't be able to GM for us anymore.

Yea, I wouldn't expect our party to sneak past anything anytime soon, so not going to complain about us getting jumped. That was pretty much expected. I mostly just want to make sure my 2 girls aren't useless when Ash decides to make it super-dark in here.

In fact, Piety can switch her spells prepared for just 1 arc pool point (using her quick study exploit, so OP), so she can swap out darkvision for darkness after Ash uses his 1/d up. Then we can keep darknessing people for fun and profit.

I'd prefer darkvision so I'm not the weak link when Ash drops darkness. Plus it's not that expensive for a couple castings and lasts a long time.

I approve of your placement. If I'd remembered you asking, I would've said "put my two girls in back".

Did we settle on a party layout yet? I'm going to continue to build Tempy according to my original plan (enchant, cc, utility).

I'm still waiting to build either Piety the Fire Sorceress, or Mortimer the crafting and CC wizard. If Fortyscythes is going to be our crafter, that's cool. In a campaign with limited access to resources, someone should have scribe scroll and craft wondrous (maybe also wands/armor/etc).

Gah! If you change from one thread to another, post in the old thread! I've been wondering why the game hadn't updated for so long! Will post to answer and weigh in and all that soon.

When you type smurf into chat, it gives you a smurf icon for that post. I like that feature, but it really screwed with me the first time.

Also, as the torturer, you have to hold to your agreement to some degree. If you pull a Tarkin and blow up the planet anyways, then your mark has no reason to believe you next time or other marks that hear about you won't believe you. That's why Tempy has every intention of sticking to her agreement if anyone ever actually gives her good information.

Yea, it's not necc the best info quality. And not usually a tactic I use in a game for precisely that reason. But I figure a group of aspiring lawful evils would want to employ the tactic frequently and maybe get better at it over time. I did have more creative ideas for how I could motivate him, but restrained myself from going too deep into it. Not sure how much we want to RP torture scenes vs just say "yea, you guys did a good/bad job and got good/bad info from the process.

Examples of further ideas I've had:
Promising him that we won't kill him if his information is valid. Potentially even coming up with an elaborate "you'll die if we don't come back in 4 hours so if you lead us into a trap you're screwed" situation. Very James Bond villain-esque (although practically, I'd probably just leave Victor with him).
Using what we know to ask more questions that we can use to check on his lying. The dwarf question was an example of that, the troop count and questions about the Lord/Priest are to some degree too. Every time he gives a wrong answer, Neji, Loran, Spawn and Victor do something horrible. I think the fear of worse consequences when you lie is somewhat a counter to the "nothing to lose" argument.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Damn, was hoping you were creating your own Fantasy Mess character.

We need to finish up the goblin'ing so we can go back to the slower paced forum chat! I miss my Jade Regent. I find it much easier to do that then sit around for a couple hours playing on Roll20.

*NOTE: The main reason I've been not pushing playing on the weekends is b/c I'm deep in a KSP addiction right now. Started a new career mode now that career has $ and contracts and such.
