Gay Master |

perhaps she'd like to cast infernal healing on Victor?

Gay Master |

its turn.
those caught in its vortex automatically take damage
@leo: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
@forsythe: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
@neji: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 got a +4 acrobatics? if so, add 4hp back and you're not prone.
@loran: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
they're then dropped 15 ft as the elemental shifts from vortex back to regular elemental form and dissipates, splitting apart into nine balls of light, as the balls of light wink out of existance.
falling@leo: 1d6 ⇒ 2
falling@forsythe: 1d6 ⇒ 5
falling@neji: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 151d6 ⇒ 4 land succesfully taking no further damage.
loran's elemental catches him enough to soften his landing.
the whir of the vortex ceases, and there's calm.
you've no idea how loud all of that sounded to anyone outside the choir hall, but you presume you have a few rounds at least before anyone would reach you, in which to regroup.

Ash runs over to help Forsythe up. Here, drink this. oh no wait, don't. drops forsythe back to the ground. nearly forgot . Helps Leo up to drink his extract of cure light wounds. 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Edward Fortysythes |

I gather with Loran and grizzbit in a corner.
then pull Leo and Victor's bodies over. Sorry Neji, you still seem rather hale.
everyone else, back.
Forsythe then leans over to quickly kiss both Leo and Victor.
channel negative: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 4) = 10
elapsed time 5 rounds of shuffling, 2 x death's kiss, 1 channel.
looks like once more.
two more kisses and another channel later...
channel negative: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 1) = 6

Gay Master |

in summary:
Leo: 28/41hp
Loran: 21/23hp
Victor: 14/23hp
Forsythe: 19/20hp
Ash: 31/36hp
Temperance: 12/24hp
Neji (suit: 2/10 hp) 30/50 hp
Grizzbit: 11hp
Spawn 0hp until tomorrow.
Victor, Neji, and Temperance will i presume infernally heal up some?
Forsythe will reserve further healing for emergencies.
yeah. so that thing had the stats of a large air elemental, except they gave it 117 hp. they made it 18 HD which i think was a mistake from the typical 8 HD air elemental. but i figured it could have been beefed up on purpose? but it wasn't otherwise statted to 18 HD ( feats, saves, etc. ). I nearly went with the higher CR version, but with 9 rounds of whirlwind that would have just ended badly and been no fun. this was rough, but i figured you guys would get to 117 hp quickly. and you did get it there, got it staggered so it knocked itself out and killed itself.

Neji Volrata Eidolon |

Why thank you Fortysythes, only just a century and change, but you know, the suits we choose really make the woman shine
The blue runes smoking from her forehead.
I do have 4 Acrobatics, and I forgot to add my extra CON HPs from me awesome raging, but I will stop raging when the thing dissipates, leaving me with 4 rounds of fatigue.
I'll borrow the wand of Infernal healing from Tempy and tap away...
RND 1: Infernal Healz, Neji
When ten rounds go by I will tap myself again with Infernal Healing.
RND 2: Infernal Healz, Leo
Here Leo, my brave boy, you may need this more than I do. Potion of Cure Moderate Wounds. /smooch
RND 3: Infernal Healz, Temperance
RND 4: Cast, Rejuvenate Eidolon: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
RND 5: Read the Scroll of Bear's Endurance
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22; Do I hear any footsteps coming our way?

Gay Master |

its not a wand as well. its like 24 scrolls of infernal healing or something

Neji Volrata Eidolon |

ah ok, well can Leo read it? I know Tempy and I can. In that case change my rounds to:
RND 1: Infernal Healz, Neji
When ten rounds go by I will tap myself again with Infernal Healing.
RND 2: Cast, Rejuvenate Eidolon
RND 3: Here Leo, my brave boy, you may need this more than I do. Potion of Cure Moderate Wounds. /smooch
RND 4: Perception Check/ Recover Hammer/ Search room for lootz
RND 5: Read the Scroll of Bear's Endurance
Please assume Tempy also reads a scroll to heal.

WhatWouldTemperanceSay |

Gah! It looks like my post earlier was eaten by the system (or I did something stupid and deleted it).
Agree with the healing, I started casting IH on myself by coming out of delay in combat, then cast on others post-combat. Also told Neji they're scrolls not a wand and handed her the scrolls.
Then I try to peek out one of the stained glass windows (I assume there are stained glass windows, there are always stained glass windows) if I can see through it and see if anyone is coming. If they are, then I'll deal with that (action will vary depending on circumstances, but will probably open the door and cast entangle in the courtyard).

Gay Master |

there's some stained glass windows, but they don't seem openable. you find a mostly clear pane, but you don't see anyone coming. the torches are moving around a little, out on the walls though.

Gay Master |

listening at the doors, Neji and Loran hear there's some alarms going up. the echo of the signal horns from the walls can be heard.
in a few rounds when all have had fast healing for 1 minute:
Leo: down 3
Loran: down 2
Victor: full
Forsythe: down 1
Ash: full
Temperance: down 2
Neji (suit: full) down 10
Grizzbit: full
Spawn 0hp until tomorrow.
ok so 5 scrolls down ( Leo, Victor, Neji, Temperance, Ash )
potion of cure moderate given to Leo ( he'll hold on to it for in combat )
most are either full or down 1-3 hp, though Neji could use another hit.
and scroll of bear's endurance is being read.
Ash and Neji could use an IH if
darkness - 2 minutes remaining.
bear's endurance - 3 minutes starting now.

Lets not stick around and fight here. If they're mobilizing to the Choir Hall, lets get down into the Vestiary. While they're all up here, we'll have a better chance down there.
Pops open the hatch
I don't want to be waiting around here healing while they open those gates and send 20-30 men in with archers led by their glorious lordling.
an educated guess though: if they're on alert, their priest may be mobilizing too. we'd best get to him quickly or figure something out fast.

Neji Volrata Eidolon |

I read my scroll of Infernal Healing.
I agree fully my dear man; the master will surely smile on this day. Sally port.
And with hammer in hand and a ball or blue flame circling the other I jump down to the Vestiary (or take the ladder or stairs that are there...I don't know. I do know it is dramatic and surely inspires those around me.)
Inspire Courage (Diplo): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Neji Volrata Eidolon |

I just noticed I have -4 listed in Misc. for all my CHA skills; I have no idea why I have that, other than it must have been an effect I forgot to remove who knows how long ago. Unless you recall why Vince, I'm going to correct my skills on my Alias page to reflect the corrected #s.

WhatWouldTemperanceSay |

I'm all in favor of charging forward and killing this priest before he can mobilize and get much scarier.
I less dramatically follow Neji.

Gay Master |

oh the minus 4 might have been for some carousing or suspicions you aroused while in the town in the gather information stage. thats all i can think of off the top of my head.
You all hastily leave the Choir Hall, which quite literally looks like a tornado tore through it. Downstairs in the Vestiary, down the ladder, is a room lit by two torch sconces, there's a wardrobe which probably holds their ceremonial robes and vestments.
Several doors lead off the hallway , five on your left, one on your right. You expect the five on your left are the acolytes cells, and the one on the right leads to the shrine, through that to the Father Donnagain's room. And as the first of you come down the ladder, swaddled in darkness, extinguishing the light from the torches, you see and hear the doors to these cells being closed. the acolytes apparently heard the ruckus upstairs, hiding from intruders. There's no noise from the doors on the right.
just under 2 minutes left on the darkness, just under 3 on the bear's endurance. still a minute left on bless.

![]() |

through the shrine. quickly. keep this hallway, we don't want to get cornered. Loran, get your elemental to guard the door to the barracks.
ash moves over to the barracks door and sees if he can jam it.
disable device: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18

Gay Master |

The Shrine is a 20 x 20 room holding a small shrine to Mitra. There's a basin with what's likely holy water in the shrine. you see another door in the west wall. the father's cell. its closed. With the noise and activity down here, you expect he knows you're coming.

Neji Volrata Eidolon |

I nod to Leo. I think I still have a minute left on Flame Touch, so I don't cast anything, but I make certain Remove Fear is easily accessible.

Gay Master |

You open the door. This humble chamber contains only a cot, a small table, and a prayer mat. A goldenemblem of the Mitran Sun hangs on the wall. Three books lay stacked on the table - The Light Undimmed ( a mitran holy text), a hymnbook full of rousing spiritual music, and a surprisingly well written novel about a monk named Cadfell who solves crimes.
Alas, no one seems visible inside the room. Suspecting invisibility, you move in and check the room. No attacks come though, and you quickly surmise that he's not around. You poke around and realize he probably hasn't been around for a few hours. His cot looks neatly made.

Gay Master |

An acolyte in the back of the room cowers in fear.
Please! no! don't kill me!
some of you hear muffled cries of panic from the other acolyte cells as well.

Gay Master |

Just as you manage to jam it, someone tries to open the door from the barracks. A soldier from the other side shouts, Open up! whats going on in there! Brothers? Father!? Are you alright?

Leo the Fake |

I say we waste them. I'll take point, forsythe back me up. Someone run interference for Forsythe, ... you , Ash. Forsythe can Kiss you, and we can channel to hurt the living, bring their first wave down. then Ash, Neji, and Victor can hop around the darkness and get the stragglers. What do you say?

Neji Volrata Eidolon |

Neji's eyes sparkle and burn up at this sugestion. She twirls, arms in the air,Oh Leo, you always know the words to my favorite songs. Show them Asmodeus's glorious choir and I will dance among them with claw and fire.
I assume another rough minute has passed or is near so, and also assume my Flaming Touch expires as does my Infernal Healing. With that, I will ready Burning Hands to wash over those beyond the door once Leo gives to go.

WhatWouldTemperanceSay |

The old guy wandered off in the night? How unfortunate. I was looking forward to meeting him. I don't like our tactical position (on the wrong side of the barracks) but I like our odds against their much-weakened forces. Let them come. They will rue the day.
Leo, do you want to murder that acolyte you just scared before we get started? It will take them a second to break down that door.
On a second's consideration, Temperance adopts the scared acolyte's voice and yells out:
I heard screaming and noise in the choir room and then all the lights went out. I think the dwarves are here! There were invisible voices speaking in Dwarven; I think they said their cover was blown by the archon and they were going to flee through the exit in the main hall.
Might as well see if we can split their forces/cause chaos.

Gay Master |

What are the dwarves doing in there? i thought they were in the grand hall with Lord Havelyn? Father Donnagain! are you in there too?
Leo casually steps into the cell with the acolyte, and snaps his neck. then returns to the door. Forsythe kisses ash on the cheek, and with the ready, he undoes the jam, and opens the door, as everyone stands back or around a corner from Leo and Forsythe.
The barracks is a riot, men are being woken up by other guards, most of them seem to have been sleeping on the other side of the room. As the door opens, Ash's darkness envelops the guard that was banging on the door, and some others that were coming up behind him. Its too quick to count but there are another 12-15 guards at the other side of the room.
still around for about 5 rounds. Neji you've got about 2 round of your produce flame left

Leo the Fake |

Forsythe, Neji with me. lets go to the pack. Victor, ash, take care of these few.
with that Leo starts to cross the room in the surprise.
i think this will be quick. so i'll just use a take 10 initiative for an order. you can delay and adjust as you like.
[r1][15: Forsythe], [14: Temperance], [14: Victor], [13: Loran], [13: Eddarly's men(archers) ], [12: Ash], [11: Leo], [10: Neji], [10: Barhold's men (infantry)]

Gay Master |

You see there are sick guards toward the back of the rom, and resting guards off to the north. Several of the infantrymen were in the middle of coming over to the door to see what is going on.

Gay Master |

infantry@will: 1d20 ⇒ 151d20 ⇒ 91d20 ⇒ 101d20 ⇒ 161d20 ⇒ 141d20 ⇒ 6
halberd@will: 1d20 ⇒ 191d20 ⇒ 151d20 ⇒ 3
archer@will: 1d20 ⇒ 181d20 ⇒ 3
most of them cry out in pain as waves of negative energy wash over them, some before they're even out of their cots. Cries for help begin immediately.
adjust so leo goes next.
Some of the archers sand up and start to flee.

Leo the Fake |

I move 20 ft, provoking from 2 if they have their weapons out they don't yet. and flat footed w/o combat reflexes.
Holding my blade aloft i shout to asmodeus, his black energies roiling down the blade and into their hearts.
damage: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 6) = 9 DC 16

it catches everyone on that side of the room.
infantry@will: 1d20 ⇒ 51d20 ⇒ 41d20 ⇒ 171d20 ⇒ 161d20 ⇒ 61d20 ⇒ 10

archer@will: 1d20 ⇒ 111d20 ⇒ 19
ranger@will: 1d20 ⇒ 41d20 ⇒ 2
most of them drop. only a single halberdier and the two rangers stir after the assault.
i move up with the last of the expeditious retreat and darkness, envelop some of the sick, and lob an alchemist fire at the square between the halberdier and rangers.
ranged touch bomb vs. 9: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 131d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
dunno why i rolled damage. they just have reflex saves vs the splash damage. DC 17
ranger@reflex: 1d20 ⇒ 121d20 ⇒ 1

the halberdier looks wobbly, and the rangers fall back to their cots, burning still.
next round burning damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
i end next to one of the sick guys, dagger out.

Gay Master |

Victor double moves in, Temperance moves in and north to stay out of the lines of fire.
Loran moves up and commands his elemental to attack one of the sick.

Neji Volrata Eidolon |

OK, I have fixed my HPs to reflect the IH rounds and raging CON...
I will move up to between foes and Leo and Griz to provide each flank, and Rage. #14 has an AoO as I move past, if he has the action.
Claw 1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
Claw 1 Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Produce Flame Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Neji Volrata Eidolon |

Too late now, but I wonder with Loran's Wind Elemental and my Dancing Lights and perhaps Temperance's acting, we could have convinced the rank and file the Archon was fine.
Also, dwarves, Lord Havelyn, Father Donnagain, Grand Hall...dafuq? I suspect our little lie may be up and an alliance we do not need may be on the brink of being forged. You know...after the zone-o-truth clears up our little folly

WhatWouldTemperanceSay |

I'm pretty much useless for large groups and don't want to burn resources inefficiently, so I'm just going to stay in delay until I think of something valuable to do. Open to suggestions.

Neji Volrata Eidolon |

Too bad Diplomacy and Intimidate are so goofy in combat in this system otherwise I would say act as a commander and give them orders to confuse them.

Loran Charhaven |

I have no AoE spells or abilities... So my elemental will have to do. I can shoot one of them with my Crossbow.
crossbow: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6

Gay Master |

a dwarf opens the door. steps in, and levels his crossbow at the elemental. Another jogs in, ducks aside, and levels his own crossbow at ash.
dwarf@elemental: 1d20 ⇒ 51d10 ⇒ 2
dwarf@ash: 1d20 ⇒ 41d10 ⇒ 5
the halberdiers have enough movement to end up within reach of the elemental and still attack.
halberdier@elemental: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 121d10 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
halberdier@elemental: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 211d10 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 hitting for 6 damage.

Forsythe double moves.
Grizzbit moves up and claws one of the dwarves.
claw: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 241d4 + 6 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 6 + (1) = 8

the archers are all dead.
