The closest conscious guard is around 70 ft away, so she feels comfortable whispering a little about the plan:
So one or two slip into the fort through the 1st floor exit and the remainder slip out through the back way. Victor's (she airquotes) "scroll" and dirty stories should at least confuse them. Those slipping out through the front can leave some obvious item behind once they're sure they can make it to safety. That way the Lord will know some servants snuck out and that will leave two ways to explain our disappearance. This actually sounds like a good plan. Do we need to kill these 3 or do we just make a run for it before more cockroaches show up to squash?
Tempy would be a good servant. Victor would probably be a liability because he's an idiot. Neji might also stand out (child-sized, lacks foresight and caution). Forsythe and Leo radiate evil, so that may be an issue. Ash would be good, since he's done this before. Loran could be helpful, but would have to dismiss his eidolon again, he may prefer to go to the tunnels and keep it out in case things go south.
So, Ash and Tempy hide in the fort while the others slip out the back?

Neji Volrata Eidolon |

Can I see either of the two running in the entangle?
Moment of Clarity has passed and I stop Raging(2 rnds left, fatigued for 4 rnds). I cast Produce Flame and a floating blue tear drop appears in my hand which I toss at a fleeing soldier,
Produce Flame Toss: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 3 + 1 = 14, ranged touch, 120' no range incs.
Produce Flame Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Breathy, panting whisper to Ash: How are you doing Ash, do you need help?
If I can not see runners and Ash does not need help, I will still cast, but hold it and loot the Captain. If he's alive that process of looting will likely discharge one of the balls, just add 5 to the touch. I figure that would be Neji's subconscious way of performing a heal check.

Neji Volrata Eidolon |

Works for me and describes me well, but you forgot violently-hyper-sexualixed. It is just as likely, if not more that I would get in trouble just being locked in a confined space full of good aligned men that I would want to play with/kill. So, yeah, unless you want me to black-widow the place over the course of a couple days, I should probably go home.

Neji Volrata Eidolon |

Whispered Sylvan, the tone of fanaticism clear in my voice:
Unlike you my dear, the Master has yet to deem such a privilege at the hands of these Mitran fools. But, today is not a day to test my Master's warrant, but one of guile and confusion. This is now were you will shine in his eyes; my time of redemption will come.

:: i don't want to go out the front. If there are more groups of guards, I'd rather not go solo them. I'm just going to jump over the side ::

what did forsythe want to do next?

Neji Volrata Eidolon |

I know I offer every time, but there is a new pet option in the recently dead Captain. I don't know if he's better than Griz, but that would be so epic if he retuned dead and on our side! Perhaps we grab him drag him with us?
PS, what happened with my last action? did I toss one or begin searching the captain?

Gay Master |

oh right. yeah, you can see the one w/ 8 damage. the other has some cover behind a corner. you toss and hit the guy with 8, and drop him.

Loran Charhaven |

Once my spell ends, spawn will dissappear. I could leave him to take care of the entangled guards. He'll get a little weaker as I get to the tunnel. --- all whispered since I'm on my phone.

Gay Master |

not that excited. just dropped to unconscious. but you can still act excited =)

Gay Master |

if we presume forsythe delays, vicky and temperance are up. but they have a wedding this weekend to go to... so either way, this is mired until monday (ish)

WhatWouldTemperanceSay |

The boys are married, so I'm good to go. [gamerhumblebrag]The bigger obstacle for my schedule in the near future will be GenCon, may be slow to post later this week/weekend[/gamerhumblebrag]

WhatWouldTemperanceSay |

You're going to jump over the railing and swim away? Alright, that works for me
Let's finish off these last couple guys and head to the tunnels then. Is the captain well and truly dead? If some of the others survive, that's fine by me, they'll just be witnesses to the dwarven crimes, but that captain I don't want to deal with again.
I move so I have a clear LoS on the guy Ash is harrying and throw a couple magic missiles his way.
Magic Missile: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 3) + 2 = 9
I just added the damage to the upper right corner of the guy I shot, along with the 7 from Ash.

Victor_Moreau |

Sneaky, sneaky, sneaky.
Victor casts vanish on himself, then opens the door and 5ft steps into the hallway.
Sneaky sneaky: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (18) + 23 = 41
He apparently finally decides to stop whispering to himself and sneaks out of the room pretty stealthily.
Oh, and he's invisible, but I never rolled for his servant disguise.
Servant Disguise: 1d20 + 7 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 7 + 10 = 34
Damn, Victor's actually rolling well on things that probably won't matter.

Neji Volrata Eidolon |

In Dwarven,
Well the Captain is coming with me. Come on big boy,Grunting as I hoist the old man over my shoulderI'm not done with you yet.
Assuming we are retreating, I decide not to loot from Captain, but too loot the Captain himself. I make certain to leave behind something, other than a weapon that clearly identifies his death. Encumbered I make my way to the tunnel.

Gay Master |

9 and 7? that drops him unconscious.
man, just when i'd set up a flank ...

I double moved forsythe down towards the hatch a bit. not there yet, but she's slow, needs the head start.
there's just one soldier left.
break free: 1d20 ⇒ 6
he's still entangled. seems doomed.
the wolf moves out to attack. reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15. gets entangled. and has to try and break free. break free: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20. it does. but its stuck in that square b/c of lack of movement now.
Loran? what're you and spawn doing?

Neji Volrata Eidolon |

I assume my moves/actions in R9 are taken up with looting the Captain?
I have three minutes of Produce Flame remaining (unless a charge discharged into a living Captain? If so, subtract a minute) so I'll just hold the charge unless that soldier comes into my field of view, in which case I hope he sees me walking away with his Captain.
I forget, do we have a wand of CLWs or similar, out-of-combat light healing? Neji, not the Eidolon, is down 10 HP. The Eidolon is also down 9, but I can heal that myself. Loran, I also have a cast of Rejuvenate Eidolon if your pet needs it. I don't know if you have the spell, but if not I do.

WhatWouldTemperanceSay |

Victor, do you still have those scrolls of Infernal Healing on you?
Victor? For Asmodeous's sake, what is he up to now?
Victor scribed a bunch of scrolls of IH. 24 total, Tempy bought 8 from him. So she can help with healing and once we're in the tunnels and have a minute we should be able to top everyone off.

Victor_Moreau |

Since Victor actually rolled well on his stealth check, I'm going to assume he's not mumbling to himself anymore.
He sneaks down the hallway, drawing his crossbow. He peeks around the corner and presumably sees someone. Does that person look like a priest or some other non-commoner? His actions depend on who he sees, so I'm holding the rest of his move and his std until I know.

WhatWouldTemperanceSay |

On my init, if Ash's eagle or wolf hasn't already dropped the last guy, I'll peek around the corner and lob another Magic Missile at him. If he HAS dropped him, then I'll happily head down the stairs and let the menagerie take him out.
In case it's needed:
Magic Missile: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 1) + 2 = 7

Crazy weekend, moving Datacenters at work... Sorry.
Let the pets take care of this last one, we need to flee.
I'm gonna full move out of here, still disguised like a servant, unless someone else says something.

Gay Master |

Neji is fine looting the captain, one handed as it were ( one holding the flame, the other rifling through his belongings looking for anything nice ). Ash's Runs and jumps over the wall, hopefully getting the attention of the back door guards, and breaks north, sending the eagle to attack the guards. Ash gets up to the edge, and messages back before it goes out of range that he sees more guards, but they're looking slow to organize / hesitant to engage. Archers though.
Forsythe double moves down
Victor does see a man in vestments moving down the hall to a cracked open door, definitely not a soldier or a servant, more likely one of Father Donnagain's Acolytes. if you want to shoot, you can.
Tempy can't get a good line of sight to get the last soldier, so just leaves it, for the menagerie.
The soldier had his ready attack for when spawn moved over, i just forgot to take it longsword: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 141d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4. it missed anyway.
The wolf was free of entangle at the end of last round. moves up and bites bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 71d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 41d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
the soldier attacks on his adjusted initiative on spawn. longsword: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 61d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2. obvioiusly too frightened to hit.
Loran moves down again.
Leo continues to ready for Neji to finish.
Neji loots a nice looking greatsword, free of any rust or scratches. a mithril dagger, and a mwk lucern hammer. then moves towards the stairs.
Ash leaps acrobatics: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (1) + 20 = 21. ignores the first 10 ft of the fall but still takes 1d6 ⇒ 6 damage, and lands prone. then gets up. The eagle moves to engage the guards and attack bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 181d4 ⇒ 2
oh, forgot spawn's attack
Spawn attacks
claw: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 151d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 miss
claw: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 121d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 miss
claw: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 101d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 miss
claw: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 131d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 miss
the guard takes 7 damage and falls down bleeding.
Forsythe climbs down into the storeroom.
Top of the round, i'll hold there. i presume Temperance will move down to the storeroom, but Victor may / may not have fired last round at the acolyte, the outcomes of which we should wait and hear from.

Neji: his full plate looks very well crafted and ornate. at least masterwork. but it would take at least a minute or so to take it off his dead body. You can discharge a produce flame by touch into him just to make sure he's dead dead, and not at like -9 and stable or something.

Neji Volrata Eidolon |

Yep, I am taking the whole bastards with me, stuff and all. I am using both hands, if he is alive the charges go off. I'm not trying to kill him, I assume he is already dead and am gathering him up, if a change went off cause he was still alive then all the better. If the accidental discharge is too complicated I am happy to cancel the spell. It was more theatrical funsies than anything else. I'm more interested in taking the Captain with us.

Gay Master |

oh okay, and you're trying to carefully carry him without leaving a trail of blood down to your hatch? and just leaving a weapon or something behind to indicate he was there?
k, i'll need a survival check to obfuscate your tracks. everyone going in the hatch can assist.

Gay Master |

bloody helmet or gloves, torn shred of his tabard or something work. for what to leave behind.

Neji Volrata Eidolon |

Ugh, blood. That's a good point, I forgot about that. I have three large sacks, would I be able to either shove him in one or use the three to create a pseudo body-bag for him to prevent leakage?
I understand that would take more time, I'm just asking my options here.

Neji Volrata Eidolon |

Survival: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (18) - 1 = 17
I'll use common sense. If the guy is too much of a mess and would risk the escape, it isn't worth it. I'm just trying to help Forsythe out here and further demoralize the troops.

Gay Master |

you can try and cover the ends at least, head / feet, with bags, and hope you get away pretty clean.
leo's assist: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (12) - 2 = 10. that's one assist at least.

Loran Charhaven |

EDIT: I will attempt to drain his blood, as much as is left before you start moving him.
I'll help, if he's dead I can't drain his blood for you, but I can help clean it up. I just want something of his as a trophy.
survival: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

Neji Volrata Eidolon |

If we can, let's assist Loran. He's the Subject Matter Expert with this blood thing. :)
As for Trophies, first pick is all yours. Like I said, I'm far more interested to know if he is a better than Griz replacement.

WhatWouldTemperanceSay |

Based on my understanding of the way skeletons/zombies work, the Captain should make nothing special. Skeletons and zombies lose all their HD due to class levels, so he's no different than a similarly strong/dextrous lvl 1 commoner. And I doubt he's got a better stat array than Grizzbit. What we need is a big bad ugly monster with lots of racial HD, then we can make a kickass skeleton. In character, Forsythe is very aware of this and has told us as much a few times, so I'm sure she's saying something as you start trying to drag the body away.
Now if she could make skeletal champions it would be a different story, but that requires Create Undead (lvl 6 cleric spell).
So take a trophy, drink some blood, make sure he's really dead, and let's GTFO.

Loran Charhaven |

It would be worth it to take the body. If we can steal the bodies of the important people, when we prepare the the final invasion we can maybe display their captain, cleric and mage's dead bodies to demoralize them

Neji Volrata Eidolon |

Like I said several times, I understand the Captain may not be better than Griz. I frankly don't know the Caps stats. Neji does not have the knowledge of what does and does not make a good skelly (yes I have a decent knowledge religion)...all she knows is Forsythe Dominem has a great skill at making playmates, so yes Neji offers those she sees as champions as replacements. Much like I offered to turn Griz when she had her old skel. It would be cool if the Captain was better, but to Loran's point this is about being evil and potentially severely demoralizing the troops should their ex-captain come back from the dead. Again, I am only interested in this plan if it does not affect the escape. I am waiting for the GMs call on that one. If it is going to take minutes to perform, risk the escape or generally not be worth it, I think as characters we will easily walk away from this necro plan and just loot him as normal. If I can walk away with the Cap, not risk our escape and potentially have some RP fun with it, then I will take him. As far as I know I am still at R9 when I attempted to take the Captain's body and am debating on blood issues right now. We got a couple rounds to either take him or his stuff with little impact to the escape. I mean you are rolling with a necro cleric, a friken vampire and myself the psychoic, we would be doing this stuff all the time if you think about it. ;-)

Gay Master |

you can take the body, it won't take too much time to drain the blood w/ Loran drinking some of it. Or you can just take some stuff. It'll be a few rounds one way or another.

Neji Volrata Eidolon |

Well then I vote to be the evil b#&&* I am and take this handsome man with me...you know, once Loran get's his fill. I assume I am waiting for Loran, so I can still lob fire if anyone shows in my field of view...otherwise fast forward to R11/12 where I'm walking a (bagged I assume) Captain to the secret passage? I am no longer fatigued when I do, so waiting actually worked out perfectly.
Outside of Loran's trophy, I make certain to leave behind something showing of the captain. He sounded like a man of Mitran, so if he had a holy symbol, perhaps an honor symbol with his name we can leave behind?

WhatWouldTemperanceSay |

Ah! If this is just about being evil and gruesome, I'm all in.
I'm happy to keep watch while all you hands on types bag up the captain. And if I see any blood, I'll clean it up with prestidigitation.

Gay Master |

Loran drains the body of some blood, Temperance casts a few prestidigitations and adds a prestidigitation of some sulfuric smell or something to indicate teleportation. Victor drops his little scroll and decides its best not to stir the nest during a getaway. You get the body down the shaft and discreetly as you can into the tunnel without leaving evidence. The menagerie disappears as a set of reinforcements engage them, and Ash gets away with only one arrow in his side. He joins you later, having snuck back into the Inn and through the tunnel the other way.
having time to loot the body proper, yes you have a +1 greatsword, mwk full plate, mwk lucerne hammer, mwk sap, and mithril dagger.
have a good gen con Tempy/Victor, we'll go slowly for a week, if not full break. and see what happens. Most of you are injured and will require a few judicious uses of Infernal Healing.

Neji Volrata Eidolon |

Reestablish Message for the group:
Leo, are you interested in that greatsword, otherwise that would make a nice one hander for me? Also eyeing the hammer since he broke my last one.
I'll take a single hit of IH, and will heal my Eidolon myself Rejuv: 2d10 + 1 ⇒ (7, 4) + 1 = 12

Leo the Fake |

its nothing like my falchion, but yeah, a magic weapon would be a great boon. I think i'll take his armor and his sword. Even with out a disguise I'll look like him. It could demoralize them greatly to think he's been turned by the dwarves. You take the Lucerne for now, and you can have this greatsword when we have enough to upgrade my falchion?
the gm tells me that lesser rejuvenate eidolon is 1d10+1 =)
you're the pc. he's just a DMPC. if you want the greatsword take it. you can fight a bit in character over it if you like. But I think it'd be easy for him to disguise himself with it.
