Seeker's 5e Reign of Winter (Inactive)

Game Master seekerofshadowlight

It has been a century since the immortal witch Baba Yaga last visited the world, and the hour draws nigh for her return. But when she fails to appear in the frozen realm of Irrisen to usher in its newest ruler, pockets of winter begin to grow throughout the Inner Sea region. After 1,400 years of perpetual winter, the icy curse of Irrisen is spreading! What links do these strange blizzards and swaths of wintry landscapes have with Irrisen, and is there any truth to the growing rumors that the Witch Queen Elvanna has taken full control of the realm? Can her plans for the Inner Sea be thwarted, or will the Reign of Winter engulf the world?

Jack moves past vic to randomly strike at the doll, screaming something about demon possession. He thrusts threw the doll, scatting some of the straw used to stuff its cloth body. He tries to knock the chair over as well but does not get a good it and it barely wobbles.

A child like voice can be heard to scream "No! Mine!" As the girl you saw before simply appears behind Jack and strikes at him, he eyes aglow with an unnatural color of blue. He hand passes though jack and he screams and feels as if his very soul is on fire. He feels so very weak.

Barl stands in the clearing looking around the edge of the woods, trying to spot where Arannis took off to. He jumps, startled by the voice of the little girl yelling, then his blood runs cold hearing Jacks scream.
"What the hell is going on up there? Don't you know that you aren't supposed to get into trouble without me?!" Barl will make his way toward the tree house. If he gets there with enough movement, he'll try to climb. Athletics: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

Ha, I intended to do the same, but real life had other ideas.

Doubting she could catch the fleeing elf, Kat follows Barl towards the house.

GM

I am fine with you guys going after them and Vic and Jack scouting ahead. As I have been slow to update, I a gonna give jack another day to get his actions in.

Kat and Barl run back toward the house, barl barreling up the ladder. Inside the small home he sees a single chair, a doll on the floor and the girl standing before both Vic and Jack. "You are not supposed to be here!" She screams as she strikes at Vic. Her small arm seems to pass though vic, almost sizing his heart in pain as it passes though him. Her very touch leaves him with chills and a feeling of weakness -8 hp to vic

Vic recovers a bit and strikes at the phantom child, his attack seems to do little, although she does seem to flinch in pain from his strike

Is the little girl visible at all?

GM

Sorry busy couple of days, meant to up date sooner. We have a few people in this tiny hut. And yes, the girl can be seen.

Trusk finds the wayward elf panting and hiding behind a tree. As he is trying to clam him down they hear the yell from Vic about an attack.

Inside the tiny Hut, vic and Jack are in pain, there is very little room in the hut and Barl stands in the door. Kat, on the ladder below him however has a good view from between his legs and fires off an icy bolt juts a bit too close to him manhood for comfort. The girl seems to grunt a bit with the hit.

The girl strikes at Kat, but she gets out of the way just in time.

Fun fact: Protection from evil and good: Doesn't simply cure mind effects anymore. It does however provide advantage on additional saving throws. So no idea if this will work, but...

"Be at peace, Arannis. Your mind has been clouded with fear that is not your own. Let me help you clear it."

Tursk approaches Arannis, places his hand on his shoulder and casts a spell to protect him from evil influences.

You guys wish to take a short rest here, or away from the hut and the ever present sense of dread and unease?

Warlock 2 (Winter); AC 13; HP 13/17

Probably away from the dread and unease, or so I would vote. :)

Kat stops with the others, but for some reason doesn't feel all that tired. Perhaps it was because she had not been hurt like some of the others. Instead, she paces back and forth, back and forth. Occasionally she looks at Jack, but then shakes her head and resumes her pacing. Well, the girl was off anyway, like he said. Still didn't seem that dangerous though. We did attack her first.

Yeah, Jack takes his short rest away from the hut.

GM

You take your rest some distance away from the hut, off the trail a bit. Tursk finds you a good spot, hidden a bit in the trees. The temperature starts to drop with the evening getting near and snow has started to fall.

Rested, you keep going down the trail. It continues though ever narrowing passages and starts to descend into a snow covered icy valley. The snow is now well past your knees and you notice odd patterns of lines scratched into the fresh snow. Among the lines reads in common "Turn back before the winter devours you"

If anyone rolled HD for healing, do so in the other thread
