Hello everyone I am an experienced DM who is looking to start getting into PbP. As RL responsibilities have increased over the years I can no longer realistically meet up to do extended gaming sessions like I once could, but I still want to scratch that Pathfinder itch.
I'm looking for 4 to 6 players to join me in my endeavours.
Book List: All Official Pathfinder Paizo.
Race: All Core, others on a case by case basis.
Level: 1
Attributes: 20 Point Buy
Traits: 2 Traits, one must be a campaign trait. Drawback for a third if you desire.
Equipment: 150g
If you're still interested feel free to apply and I can't wait to hear from all of you. I will be accepting applications up until December 20th.

Timmy Giantslayer |

Don't drink tea and look at that link of the Halfling swashbuckler at the same time... Really funny :P
The race of Timmy is a gnome type. It is listed as Svirfneblin. Thought to put that out there before any confusion arises!

wjsilver |

I might be interested in this, and I might have a friend who is. I am really into the roleplaying side of a play by post, since I think the forum is a pretty good medium for it.
I do like lighthearted characters, but I understand your warning. I have an Elf cleric who I tried to run a couple times, but haven't been able to make stick, but I might see if there's something else.

Lilica Fancygirl |

... Welp. Guess I'll stomp on the dream of "Nothing but Little People" dream here. I was trying to be in another Second Darkness PBP on here, but sadly got passed by. Here's that particular character here, with all her information on the profile. However, seeing as she might be a no-go, I'll probably cook up another just in case.

DM Tuyena |

@Timmy, I'm not against Svirfneblin but you'll need a good reason why you're out walking the surface world.
@Chillblame, Yes the players guide should still be pretty relevant to the players. Riddleport will stay true to its campaign setting.
@Rorek, As the ACG is an official Paizo release it is allowed.

Vash "The Swift" Val Vraxem |

Vash walks into a pub, his rapier hanging from his belt, the blade almost as long as he is tall.
as he makes his way to the bar, a half orc mercenary laughs at him.
HAHA! are you sure one so small should wield that long a blade? I think perhaps you should put it down before you hurt yourself! he and his friends laugh for several moments, Vash, merely smiles and peers out under his wide brimmed hat.
In a flash of steel and magnificent facial hair, Vash is standing atop the table, his blade tip right in the half orcs face.
My good friend, perhaps you would care to rephrase that last statement, before this good little halfing finds it humorous to de-man an orc in front of his friends.
once again Vash merely peers out from under his hat, his eyes full of vigor and certainty, letting all know he would keep true to his words.
The half orc merely stammers, unsure of what to do, the tip of a rapier resting merely inches away form his face.
Vash lets out a chuckle. On second thought, if you call me daddy, I might forgive you. comon then mr. tough guy, call this halfing daddy.
the half orc's pride gets the better of him, his face contorts with anger as he tries to get up and reach for the pint sized menace infront of him.
Vash merely sighs, wrong choice mate
then promptly places his boot into the orcs face sending him toppling over backwards. The half orc merely sits there in a daze, the print of the halfing's boot showing clearly on his face.
Vash then swipes his hat from his head, and sweeps it in a wide arc bring his arm across his chest as he bows simultaneously, to the rest of the tavern goers, his blade arm out behind him pointing the tip up.
he hops off the table and continues on his way to the bar.
Bartender! cup of milk if you please!

You have a slight issue Gramlag in that you have a religion based trait for Gorum but are outside the one-step alignment requirement to qualify for true "worship" of Gorum.
@Vahanian Any Drow character is a flat out no go. The whole campaign is not underground. Recruitment closes on the 20th as outlined in the original post.

DM Frogfoot |

Tuyena: I want to offer a bit of unsolicited advice from one PbP experienced DM to a DM looking to get into it. I would close your recruitment sooner rather than later. Especially for a fun campaign like this one looks like it'll be, you will be getting a LOT of applicants over the coming days. If you give it the whole month, you'll wind up having to choose between 16-20 applicants, at least, and trust me; choosing 4-6 from that number of players is not easy. It's better (in my mind, at least, and from my experience) to close as soon as
1) your campaign is good to go and
2) you have a group of 4-6 applicants that you like.
Anyway, just my two cents, you do what you think is best. I just know that when I left my recruitment thread open too long for some of my previous campaigns, I regretted it.

the only classes that are restricted to the one step rule are devine classes, im still a fighhter and still honoring him for battle, and i dont oppose any of his alignments, i agree its not standard but as long as i dont try to be a cleric or anything i think it should be ok, if you disagree i can switch him to chaotic good im alright with that

Ira kroll |

Gilbert is a hulking brute, almost as wide as he is tall. The dwarf wears spiked scale mail and a buckler, but carries no weapon in his hand. When he speaks it is with an orcish accent. He'll tell you that he grew up among the orcs in Belzken, but his manners seem to belie that. Generally, his hood is covering his face, and his visage is not at all pleasant to look at with multiple scars, and the seeming misplacement of his eyes and nose.

That actually not true, In the rules you cannot WORSHIP anything and be more than one step away and gain a mechanical benefit. Otherwise a CE character can get the benefits of an Iomedae feat/trait, which doesnt make any sense. The difference between a Cleric for example is the fact that you arent getting spells nor other abilities.

can you sight the page source for that? i dont remember seeing it in the rules and id love to check it out so i dont have any issues with anything i plan in future
edit: just looking it up it actually says its up to gm discretion on traits, im using gorum to make shields light weapons by the religion trait from inner sea gods, i also think it is thematic for a fighter to worship the god of battle and still not have to be within the one step requirements. certainly i should not be a lawful character as that is really against gorrums views but im still doing battle, thanking him for my victories and having faith that he will grnat me strength, so i think it fits the character.
certainly i cant be a cleric with this allignment but i dont think a non devine class should be as restricted within GM discretion. i leave this to the GM, if you like my logic let me know, if not ill be chaotic good as i can see this character working that way too

I am working on an elf arcanist who lives in Riddleport with an interest in joining the Order of Cyphers. How do you feel about him taking Varisian as a language from high intelligence?
Edit:
How do you want us to do HPs?
good question, first level is always max HP plus con, but for future thats a very good question. GM feel free to change that if im wrong for you

Max hp at first, and then half max +1. Feel stupid for not remembering to include that in the original post.
@wjsilver that sounds fine.
@zefig I tend to ignore stat adjustment from age.
@gramlag it's not a make or break thing, so if it's going to change your character then don't worry about it.

Gramlag |

it would require me to change alignment to keep my build which in turn would change how i would role play the character so i thank you for the allowance i have had this character in my head for a while and itching to play him.
i promis im not dipping into cleric so it will never be a thing to worry about :)

Amos Muir |

I was exploring some of the lesser-seen cleric archetypes and discovered a cleric archetype that focuses on increased divine spellcasting ability at the cost of being a bad front-liner. I submit Amos Muir, a dwarf Ecclesitheurge, whose mastery of the divine powers granted to him by his domain grant him great flexibility in his spell use. I believe his versatility will benefit any group he joins.
Crunch and backstory for my dwarf cleric incoming.

Amos Muir |

When Amos was a young boy, he was abandoned by his parents. They didn't abandon him by choice, but rather because they could no longer protect him from the endless greenskin raids on dwarven territory near his home. The church of Sarenrae cared for him and raised him, and Amos found that studying the lessons of his faith dulled the pain of abandonment he felt. He threw himself into his studies with all his might, learning everything he could of divine magic. He may not have been able to save his parents, but he would be damned if he would allow that fate to befall others without his intervention. Sarenrae preaches redemption to those who seek it; Amos sought redemption for himself, for the hatred he feels for greenskins.
He never took to physical combat, and eschewed armor and weapons training in favor of deeper studies in his books. His fellows teased him about it, but they had to admit that his studies paid dividends; truly was Amos beloved of the gods and he reveled in their blessings. Now, wearing no more protective armor than a monk's habit, Amos wanders to Riddleport in search of new ears to hear the words of Sarenrae and seeking to aid any and all that need it. In the fashion of Sarenrae priests, he wears a white head-scarf and bears a ceremonial scimitar.

Ors Valinstok |

Howdy. Lookin for a friend o' mine. Elfy fella, kinda...odd. Anyone seen 'im?
Ors is from the small village of Ableton in the wilds near Riddleport, where he gets by hunting, tending to animals, resolving disputes, and seeing to the spiritual needs of the small community. He's a pretty shot with a longbow but can mix it up in a fight for a short time if he needs to. He's obviously a stranger to the big city and prefers to keep his time there to a minimum, but there are strange forces in the city that threaten Ableton and he intends to investigate them.
I still need to make purchases, but that should be fairly simple. Longbow, knife, axe, armor, and some gear should do it. I took the Into Enemy Territory trait so he's planning on meeting up with an old friend in Riddleport, who is the Cyphermage my friend wjsilver is creating.

As Balthazar stands over two and a half times the hieght of Vash. He squats down in his seat at the bar to get more level with him.
Grog grunyo ohohoh uuuaagh! (He points at the mug Vash holds)
Vash hears a raspy voice in his head
Careful longbladed one, there is a fly in that mug!
Vash looks down into his milk, shrugs and downs it.
Naught but extra protein! say, how come ya sound so raspy? ye need a drink you do!
