About Ors Valinstok

Ors was born a day's ride from Tamran, Nirmathas to a Cleric of Erastil and a Varisian dancer, but that was a very long time ago. Despite his father's best efforts, Ors never became much of a woodsman but he never lacked zeal for Old Deadeye. An apprenticeship under his cousin, a paladin of his father's order, occupied k ch of his teenage years. But much to his family's consternation, Ors never settled down with a fruitful woman to raise a large family. And so, during his 20th year, Ors joined up with his mother's family and their caravan to go ranging for a community that needed him. Journeying along with the caravan was a young elf named Iorisdlon, and there was no end to the arguments between the two. As the caravan made its way across Nirmathas and southern Varisia, the arguments eventually gave way to civil discussions. Ors chafed under the carefree nature of his mother's family, and once to Korvosa he agreed to accompany the elf to Riddleport by sea. Their combined funds only bought them passage to Magnimar, so they continued their journey on foot up the Lost Coast. Eventually they made their way to the town of Ableton, 10 miles down the coast from Riddleport. There, they found a town of good, honest folk choked by a self-styled baron suffering delusions of tyrrany due to the influence of a mischevious quasit. Ors convinced Ioris to help him free the town, and together they exposed the quasit and drove it off from the town, arresting the "Baron" in the process. Ors accompanied Ioris to Riddleport with the Baron in tow, expecting to turn him in to the local authorities. When the Baron walked free within a day, Ors bid Ioris farewell and left the city, disgusted with what he had found. He returned to Ableton, finding a small town in need of protection, and stayed on as their sherriff. He found a kindred soul in the town's baker, Jal, and they were married within a year. Ors adopted Jal's young son Camlo, and over the next two decades raised the young man as Ableton's next protector. But now a dark shadow has appeared over Riddleport, so Ors has left Ableton in Camlo's capable hands, intent on stopping the shadow before it reaches his beloved home...
