F Half-elf Ranger 4 (multiclass - Rogue)

Fairwind sees the prone form of Mirth on the ground, "Gorram..."

Male Kobold Rogue 6

you are going to love this one..... minor- shifty to I7, move-shift to J8, standard-draw shortsword (from scabard on the side of the backpack) and toss it to Kneebiter

Snaggletooth uses his agility to shift away from his enemies and move towards his kobold allies for cover. "Here, old friend," Snaggletooth smiles. "This is for you." and tosses him his shortsword. "Now, let's show these creepers how Bleak's Band fights! GRRRLL" as he snarls and faces the Ettercaps.

I really hope you'll allow that. I intentionally said I stapped the shortsword scabbard to the backpack so he could get to it without digging through his pack. The only problem you might have with it is if they no longer allow you to draw a weapon as you move.

and it is SO cool....

As you're using a standard action to draw and throw the sword to Kneebiter, I'm quite happy with that. He'll have to pick it up as a minor I think as even a kobold would think twice about just grabbing a sword out of the air.

Kneebiter's eyes go wide and he grins hugely as Snaggletooth throws the short sword in his direction.

"I will be sneaky!" he bellows.

Apart from commenting on the darkness (free action) is the good Commander doing anything else this round? You can attack at -5 if you wish to.

EDITED to take account of Caine.

The Commander swings wildly at where he knows the creeper must be, but misses. Not by that much.

The ettercaps click and chitter at each other as they maneuver to new positions. E1 trudges towards Kneebiter and spits webbing at the unarmoured kobold, successfully wrapping him in sticky threads and immobilising him.
Web tangle v Kneebiter (ref) (1d20 7=19). Kneebiter is immobilised, save ends.

E2 takes advantage of Snaggletooth's concentration on his friend and ranges alongside, greataxe held high. The chittering reaches an ear-searing crescendo and the axe sweeps down, knocking Snaggletooth off his feet and into unconsciousness.

Axe attack v Snaggle (AC) (1d20 9=26, 1d12 5=15). 15hp to Snaggletooth. Unconscious and dying.

E3 advances on Cronin, mandibles extended spits more webbing in the hope of an easy meal. Although he does his best to dodge, the sight of two comrades prone and bleeding to death distracts the cleric and he finds himself enrobed in thread and unable to move.
Axe attack v Snaggle (AC) (1d20 9=26, 1d12 5=15). Cronin is immobilised, save ends.

Filled with horror at the choice he has to make, Cronin manages to turn his head to Leo. "Help Mirth," he begs before channeling his powers once more and reviving Snaggletooth again. Selune's blessings wash over the bleeding kobold and although prone and distressed, he is back among the living.

Filled with rage, the shifter smacks at the ettercap next to him in the faint hope that he'll be able to damage the creature. His blow makes no impact on the chitinous covering, but his rage fuels him enough to break free of the entangling web.

Healing word on Snaggle. Minor. Snaggle uses a surge +4 - rolled horribly, so sorry.
Basic gauntlet attack, standard - missed
Save v immobilisation 13

Spiked gauntlet v E3 (1d20 4=10, 1d6=4)

Devlin finally emerges from behind C1, his rakish face alight with pleasure.

"Mouthy gal - why it's good to see you again. Been missing your ways." He glances with mild regret at Mirth. "Sad to say, your horny pal just doesn't have your staying power."

On the last words, he swings his halberd around in an artistic twist and slams it into the half-elf. "Got me some nice new tricks."

Halberd v Fairwind (1d20 10=26, 1d10 8=15). 15hp damage to Fairwind.

C3 hisses as the inexorable pull of Leo's divine challenge hauls him away from Caine and it stabs at the noble paladin. The vicious dagger finds an easy opening in Leo's defenses and the half-elf feels blood begin to flow.
C3 v Leo (1d20 13=23, 1d4 5=6, 1d6=6). 12hp damage to Leo.

C4 stabs hopefully at Cronin, but the cleric swings around at the last second, just deflecting the attack.

Beneath Leo's protective form, Mirth clings to life tenaciously.
Mirth made her first death save - posted a while back.

C2 stabs happily at the paladin, once more finding a way through his armour.

C1 eases around to flank at Fairwind, but can't add to the damage done by Devlin's halberd. "Not next to me you morons."

Brujo can take no more. Teleporting to a more advantageous position, he calls on the strange blue energy infusing his unwilling body and lashes out like a madman.

"BURN" his voice crackles with the sound of fire. He opens a closed hand toward the mob and releases a vortex of blue flame

Flame Cyclone (close blast 3) on E1 1d20+8=17 vs Reflex, Devlin 1d20+8=24 vs Reflex and C1 1d20+8=28 vs Reflex CRIT.
[ooc]Only one set of damage is needed, so I took the first roll dealing 13hp each to E1 and Devlin. C1 took the full crit damage of 19hp which bloodies it.

Since I'm probably going to be offline again when its Leo's next turn I'll post this now. Leo uses his divine challenge on Devlin, uses his second wind as his standard action to recover 12hp and then spends an action point to cut loose with a bolstering strike on C3 which thanks to Caine's presence means he also regains 4hp am I correct?

Leo summons forth his faith as he focuses on the fight before him hoping to fell one of the creepers and avoid blinding his comrades he tries in hopes of freeing Commander Caine so he can join in the fight before its too late especially for Mirth....

So second wind +2 to all defences, recovers 12hp at cost of a healing surge, spends an action pt regains 4hp and uses bolstering strike on C#3 rolling a 1! Owch!

F Half-elf Ranger 4 (multiclass - Rogue)

Cut and Run - miss C1. As part of the power Shift to H7, second attack 25 vs AC on Devlin doing 1d8+3 = 5 damage. Then Move action - Shift to G8. Minor Action -Hunter's Quarry on Devlin. Action Point - Second Wind +2 to all defenses.

Fairwind shoves her way through the melee once more, dodging attacks with one goal in mind.

"Devlin." she growls.

"Don't it go that the scum always rises ta the top?" she snarls as she slashes at the mercenary.

"You're still not putting the power into those blows gal. See, you've got to push from the shoulder. I did tell ya."

Devlin shrugs cheerfully as Fairwind's attack only manages to graze him.

Leo maintains his position protecting Mirth and does his utmost to defend himself at the same time.

Proper update with maps and rolls and whatnot tomorrow morning folks.

Even as he protects Mirth and builds his own resolve for the coming battle, Leo manages to send a challenge to Devlin. The warlord flicks a glance in the paladin's direction.

"Nice to see preacher man's not lost his touch."

Kneebiter somehow manages to keep hold of the shortsword and stabs heroically at E1. Heroism is not enough however and the blow does nothing. Nor can he free himself from the webbing. The ettercap clicks happily and extends venomous fangs.

Kneebiter v E1 (1d20 2=5, 1d8=5)
Kneebiter save v immbolisation (1d20=8)

From within the cells, draconic argument can be heard. It seems that soft words are not the only weapons as you can also hear the sound of clenched claw hitting scale.

My fault. I put you in the wrong square. I don't think it makes any difference long term really, but I do apologise.

Snaggletooth rises like an avenging fury and in a flurry of teeth and scale stabs C1. It is entirely clear that the creature is barely grasping on to life. Devlin looks askance and seems to be trying to find a way to get out of range.

With a final powerful move of his arms, Snaggle breaks free of the tangle of webbing and waits, vengeance in his eyes, daring C1 to attack him.

Eeep! Failure #1!

Mirth, can you confirm that you haven't used your second wind yet? It will make a difference to Cronin's next turn.

Rev DM wrote:

I have not.

Apologies, Caine, just wanted to move things along and your options are quite limited.

The Commander flails wildly again and misses C3. Infuriated with himself, he shakes off the darkness and can see again.

Save v blindness (1d20=14)

The ettercaps move in clicking horribly.

E1's axe rises and falls and Kneebiter only has time for one cry of "Snaggletooth" before he falls, critically injured, to the ground. The ettercap shifts towards Snaggletooth with menace in its chitinous features.

E1 v Kneebiter (1d20 9=26, 1d12 5=13). I'm sorry. Kneebiter was on half hp and is now at 0. He will make death saves as normal.

E2 does its best to dole out the same treatment to Snaggletooth, but the greataxe hits the ground rather than the desperately ducking kobold.

Devlin jabs a cynical thumb at Fairwind. "Webs guys, webs."

E3 does its best to oblige, spitting a gout of webbing at the ranger which wraps her neatly like a birthday parcel.

"Hey - suits you gal, should wear that more often," comments the increasingly hateful voice of Devlin.

E3 v Fairwind (Web Tangle, Ref) (1d20 7=21)

Cronin reaches down and offers up a brief prayer to Selune before channeling her power into the prone and surprisingly small body of Mirth. Shfting out of the main melee area, he tries once more to smack a creeper in the face, and only just misses.

Activating Mirth's second wind. He can't fail, so no roll needed. Mirth can use a surge (from 0), but gets no bonus to defenses.

Devlin himself grins happily at the web-wrapped form of Fairwind. "Let me show you. See, the power all comes from the shoulder. That's how you hit."

He pokes viciously and effectively at her before wincing a bit as Leo's Divine Challenge takes revenge on him. "Now, does that seem right to you?" he asks nobody in particular.

Devlin v Fairwind (1d20 12=26, 1d10 8=9). 9hp damage to Fairwind

"That works much better if you wasn't stabbing someone completely defenceless, but don't worry one way or the other I promise we'll be getting to grips on that difference of opinion, the question is do you want to start running now or when you have noone else to hide behind?" Leo retorts.

"I don't know that it's so much to do with you preacher, but if you want to join the queue, you're welcome. Let me see now, there's my jumpy friend with the paranoia, mouthy gal, horny gal and now you. Seems there's a whole room full of people anxious to get close to me. Ain't that lucky?"

Female Tiefling Wizard 6

Rev, two questions: Are C2 and C3 still burning? (Fire Shroud does 5 ongoing Fire damage (save ends)). Also, did you need to use Sly Dodge or the Shield interrupt from the Sceptre on Mirth's last action?

Mirth is at 8/32 HP, no AP, no Second Wind left. Action pending answers to questions above.

Neither creeper is burning. The enormo posts seem to eat parts of themselves. I'll break them up more in future. I used both Sly Dodge and the Shield or you'd have been at -15 and very close to irrevocable death.

Female Tiefling Wizard 6

Bolstered by the unaccustomed touch of benevolent divinity, the tiefling swiftly rolls to put her back against the wall, flicking her tail toward the pallid eyes of the nearest creeper, hoping to distract it and buy herself some time.

Shift to J5, Bluff C2 (vs Insight) to gain CA until end of my next turn. Bluff: 22

Sorry for the delay, had an unexpected date!

Nice to see that being used. Unfortunately...

Insight v Mirth's Bluff (1d20 4=24)

C2 blinks fleetingly as Mirth's tail flickers past its face, but the creature is too wily to be deceived.

C3 shifts and stabs Leo, taking vengeance for the escape of easy prey.
C3 v Leo (1d20 13=21, 1d4 5=9). 9hp damage to Leo.

C4 turns unexpectedly on Cronin, hissing with delight as the shifter finds his back to the wall.
C4 v Cronin (1d20 11=19, 1d4 5=7). 7hp damage to Cronin. (Who has now taken a total of 13hp damage).

The sword reforms in moon elfs hand. He points at an ettercap ([ooc]E1) and leaves a buring mark on him

Minor action, aegis of shielding on E1

Lost in his anger and the arcane energy surging through him hi strikes at one of the creepers.

Spoiler:

I used aegis of shielding on C3 on my last turn. So any attacks would be at -2 and any damage would be reduced by 7 points.

Though what kind of modifiers would have to roll to get a 141 off a d20, heh

Ah, the aegis. Leo - you only take two points of damage. I miscalculated the roll bonus (wrong type of creeper) so the attack did hit you, but the damage is greatly reduced.

Brujo's succession of attacks have varied effects. Devlin and E2 both flare briefly with coruscating blue flame and his attack on C1 causes the creature to explode.

Alas, Brujo has only a fleeting instant to enjoy the impact of his attacks before he, Fairwind and Snaggletooth are all blinded. It is some satisfaction that E1 and E2 suffer the same fate.

C2 takes full advantage of the opportunity and stabs the swordmage as he gropes in darkness.

"Well we can't have that!" Leo grins at his opponents as he shifts past them calling upon his faith as his sword gleaming pure silver slashes straight into one of Fairwind's opponents...

Shifts to H-6 and employs Invigorating Smite on E#3 and gets a natural 20! (why couldn't I have got that last round!) so thats 2d8+4 damage for 20pts plus another 1d6 for his sword rolling a 6 for a total of 26 damage on ettercap#3 and since this is invigorating smite that means any ally within 5 squares of Leo who is bloodied recovers 7hp which by my count includes Mirth, Snaggletooth and his friend Kneebiter. Oh and divine challenge E#1 as his minor action for this round.

Not a problem. I do it all the time, which is much worse :D

Leo's link with Kelemvor brings bloodying devastation to E3 and the sight invests his comrades with wellbeing.
